DS is 5 weeks old and EBF. The past few days he’s been more fussy and had a lot of gas. He’s also been pooping a lot less. When he poops it’s a lot...the equivalent of multiple poops. It looks normal. It’s now been over 24 hours since he really pooped. Is this normal? Anything I can do about the gas?

The gas could be a million things. Is he actually struggling? Or just stinky? If he's struggling then I'd use simethicone and avoid the 'gassy' foods (beans, broccoli, etc). DS2 was on a gas struggle bus for a while, then I cut dairy too and it definitely helped 🤷
24 hours between poops is NBD. I don't remember what age it was...sometime between one and 3 months, but DS2 was going 3 and 4 days between poops. When he did shit, it was...omg. awful. But his pedi said EBF babies can go up to like 7 days or something crazy. It's funny because DS1 was EBF too but he pooped....pretty much all the time. Babies are weird.

My DD pooped regularly initially then started only pooping once a week. She was EBF too (she’s 2 now though). The pedi wasn’t worried unless she hadn’t pooped in a week. She said that sometimes breastfed babies just absorb all the nutrients and don’t need to poop as often.
As for the gas, probiotics helped her. She eventually grew out of it though.

Late to this but when DD2 was a baby they told me as long as she pooped once every two weeks it was fine. She regularly went 10 days between poops. It was crazy.
