vino he speaks the truth. Also, why are you changing daycares later in the year? flamingo I watch Fixer Upper all the time. And I'll watch an episode again even if I've seen it before because I would usually prefer it a second time over anything else that's on tv. Pretty much hgtv is 80% of my tv time n

If there was ever a day for my baby to take a 3 hour nap, today was the day. He has never napped this long but boy I really needed that. Once B went down at 1, I got a solid hour nap in. I think I'm feeling better!
Being sick on the weekends should be illegal.

I didn't even think of it when looking for daycares in 2014, and time flies.

tgrimes How's H doing this morning? Poor baby. We've had 2 blowouts today. Please don't let this happen to us on the plane.

Hi all! I'm still getting caught up. We've had a busy day!
I did an obstacle course run this morning, then met MH and ILs back in town for this touch a truck event. DS1 was in heaven! We had so much fun. Now we're putting both kids down for a nap and then hopefully we can go look at some patio furniture later this afternoon.

Pretty much hgtv is 80% of my tv time n Yes. We watch a ton of football in the fall, and I have one show on Bravo I follow, but otherwise it's mostly HGTV reruns or a movie. We could survive on less than 10 channels plus the major networks. We are actually considering going cable-less in the new house, just to try it out (I mean worst case, we hate it and add cable to our internet service, right?) I'm intrigued by SlingTV b/c I think it would give us what we want channel-wise, and you can add sports. So we'll see...

kleigh, we have family (ILs) that watches the kids for us at our house. I don't have any experience with daycare or nannies, but here's my pro/con list. Pro: It's free No early wake up for the kids We don't have to try and rush out the door in the mornings Don't have to worry about getting to daycare in time for pickup We don't have to deal with the illnesses that come from DC. Cons: Sometimes family thinks they have more say in how we parents our kids My house is a disaster all.the.time. My ILs are afraid to take the boys anywhere, so they're just at home all day long. No socialization with other kids. DS1 will be starting preschool part time in Sept. If I had it my way though, I would have had him in DC part time starting at about a year old. But, money.

kleigh I'm glad I put O in daycare. I was debating a nanny too. Cons: sickness! He does get sick a lot. Getting out the door in the morning. He has a hard time napping there so he's exhausted when he comes home. They charge us even if we don't bring him in. Pros: socialization - he's perfectly fine with strangers holding him, etc., they do way more activities than I could come up with plus lots of tummy time, always have childcare available (vs a nanny), ours has good hours 6:30-6:30

kleigh she's been napping way better, but...last night?...I was on night 2 of attempting to watch the new beauty and the beast and by 10 she was on my lap on the couch watching it too. Tonight's a new night though. I've been going really well with shrugging it off lately, I just feel terrible for her. Yanno? I reeeeeally hope you're getting a repeat performance tonight.

I did this one with my mom and we just jogged off and on. If you decide you want to try one, see if the Warrior Dash comes to your area. That's a good one to dip your toes into. If you like it then check out the more intense ones like a Spartan. I actually think you would really enjoy them!

jubilantsquirrel thank you! Not sure why I assumed you had to haul ass in between. Like there were some race police waiting to yell at you if you took a breather. I try so hard to be a runner. So damn hard. Not happening.

I would love to do that again!

Plus they usually give you beer at the end, which makes everything worth it.

Omg you guise. D has been screaming her head off for the past 45 minutes and I have no idea wtf her problem is. DH and I have both been in there and nothing we do seems to make a difference. Do I just let her cry and cry and cry? I'm lost.

Do I just let her cry and cry and cry? I'm lost. If she's fed, has a clean diaper & no fever, let her cry. You could give her a dose of Tylenol if you want, too. But if she's going to be crying in your arms regardless, might as well let her do it in the crib so you can take a break.

It took an entire hour of crying and me nursing her again for her to settle. I finally put her down with her eyes wide open, but quiet, and haven't heard a peep since. No idea wtf that was about. I hope I haven't created a sociopath tonight.

Yasssss girl. This is where I'm at. I'm so over even getting myself upset about it, it's just like girlfriend calm down I'm right here. Last night was in fact a repeat, surprise surprise! I kept waking up all night just waiting and expecting the wailing and I'd reach over and touch her and she was out cold. So I'm chalking ours up to a week of separation anxiety processing(?). I can't say it was teeth bc (a) one night I gave her Tylenol thinking it could've been but she still did it anyway and (b) no teeth have come through and now she seems fine. The only difference in the past two nights was I let her take a late nap at 5/5:30-6 and instead put her down for bed at 8. She had been going to bed at 6/6:30. Who the heck knows. Every time I think I have it figured out it changes and regresses, I'll take my two nights and be on my merry way.

Hello from the floor of J's room... I'm pretty sure I saw every hour on the clock last night. It wasn't even the baby! B was so unsettled, cats were super annoying. Why can't everyone just STFU and go to sleep? And of course she's up st 6am bright eyed and happy baby chatting as I lay on her floor using her nursing pillow for a headrest. 15 hours and counting until bedtime...

Hi lovely ladies. I *think* I'm finally starting to feel better. I thought I was on the mend yesterday but nope. I was a mess. Woke up today and so far so good. I just ate breakfast which is the first solid meal I've eaten in about 36 hours so fingers crossed my stomach doesnt start acting up again. We've been up since 5:30 so vino pass that coffee please.

vino B was up the last couple nights, too--no clue what's up, he's normally comatose from 8-6:30/7. I can hear him wailing now in the other room about some perceived slight. Delightful. Morning. Heading to church in a bit and then no clue what's on the agenda for this afternoon; it's kind of overcast and we're expecting thunderstorms, so the pool is probably out. We'll see.

Yuck vino. Hope that coffee is extra strong, waitwhat glad you're feeling a bit better today! After only really falling asleep at midnight, D was up at 5 and 8:30. She is happy and babbling so hopefully that means she's not too scarred from it all. She nursed well both times in addition to the midnight-ish feed so maybe she is growing. She'd better nap today though. I have a ton of work to do trial prep-wise but I may need to join her on at least one of them. I'm beginning to locate all the places I was bitten by mosquitoes at the bbq we went to last night. Joy!

Could someone be a dear and kill MH for me? I'm very busy with this trial and don't have time to form a satisfactory plot.
Before D was born, we used to take turns waking up with DS on weekend days. Since she arrived he seems to think we're splitting it up by gender, which is extremely convenient for him given that DS sleeps until at least 7:30 and sometimes as late as 9:30 while D is usually up around 5:30. Part of me was like "oh well it makes sense because she's still nursing" until I remembered that when DS was little I would nurse him and then fall back asleep while H took him when it was my day. The truth is he's just a lazy fuck who stays up way too late.
Anyway, nowadays he doesn't get up until DS is up, and even then he takes his sweet time getting out if bed AND insists on showering before he goes in to get the kid.
Today it was 35 minutes from when I woke him to tell him DS was awake (because you don't think he'd ever hear him himself do you?) and when he finally went in there. Then another 10 minutes of DS wandering around the upstairs and climbing on D and me before H actually changed his diaper. At this point it's been an hour and the kid hasn't even started breakfast.

I came out to the living room and used the back massager while online shopping. I think I went to bed around 3:30 and then MH kept snoring.

Why vino is the best: She sent me a package while I was gone. It included cloth diapers, since H has been leaking overnight and a bunch of Canadian goods. Surprise eggs, chocolate smarties and ketchup chips! Thank you vino!
