peaseblossom55, re: nights away form the babes. I travelled for work for the first time around 5 or 6 months with each of mine. It was for 3 nights both times. But H was home. Our first night away as a couple, leaving them with my MIL or my sister, they were each about 9 months old the first time.

Oh. My. Goodness.
It has been too long.
I need to familiarize myself with Tapa's functions.
I hope everyone has been doing alright! I'll go back through a ways to try and catch myself up.
W is 25lbs, mere 9lbs away from DS1 who is almost 5. He doesn't look like he weighs that much until you pick him up lol But his weight gain slowed down a lot starting a couple months ago.
You can add me to the list of people being eaten out of house and home by their small children. DS1 doesn't eat a ton but getting him to eat more than fruit and PB&J sandwiches is almost impossible. W eats everything all day long. He is always hungry! In response to apples, we just hand him whole ones and he goes to town.

thelittleredm what a fun treat for your friend and you! I hope you have a great time. My mom brought me some antique furniture that was my grandma’s so I’ve been busy switching things out and reorganizing. I dropped off a box of stuff to the thrift store. It’s suppose to be rainy again tomorrow so I’m meeting up with a friend at the children’s museum.

Lakes, I really need to get stuff together to drop off at Goodwill. H wants to have a yard sale soon to see what we can get rid of that way first, though. I feel like that's just code for nothing will get done lol

I have two boxes of baby clothes that I want to take to consignment but I haven’t because their buying hours are weird and I always have both kids. Now I’m debating if I really want the money or if I just want to drop them off elsewhere and be done.

So. Much. Rain. It’s beennraining for a week and is going to continue to rain until at least Monday. It’s good for the garden but even the poor birds look miserable.

I really hate to sound like a complainer but this daycare transition is tough. E is super clingy now and cried when any one of us leaves the room. Friday was a good day because the nanny was here. She cried as throws tantrums so much easier. She is a snotty mess and her canines are coming in. She alp keeps waking up in the motn too. I am so exhausted.

peaseblossom55 vent away! That sounds so tough and it’s understandable that you’re frustrated and exhausted. Know that it will get better and is a totally normal reaction/process. Even when he was in the same daycare where he had been since he was 12 weeks old, it took DS a month to adjust to moving to a new classroom.

I can at least parent better when I have a decent night of sleep in me. I figure the next month or so is going to rough. I just want to get past it. Thank you.

Dd got a fever yesterday afternoon. She’s so clingy and miserable. She probably picked something up at the museum last week. Poor baby. She actually fell asleep on me yesterday afternoon so I knew something was up because normally she doesn’t stop moving, let alone take an extra nap.

If anyone has a kid who loves exploring and being outside I highly recommend an explorer’s kit. We got one for ds and I’ve been getting a lot of mileage out of it. Plus it’s adorable when they use the magnifying glass wrong. Poof! I bought this one for his birthday. Obviously I removed the whistle before giving it to him 😉

LOL, good call on the whistle, Lakes. I have strategically "lost" annoying things that come in kits, too! Welp, I think A is weaning. And by "I think" what I mean is... I went out of town from work, came home and my baby no longer wants anything to do with me. Sigh.

I'm waiting for the dr at my annual physical I thought my bp would be through the roof from stress but it's fine. I hate waiting. It's so annoying. Work has been so stressful this week. E still cries at drop off. But isn't crying as much at home. Any one have good plans for Memorial Day?

There’s a nature themed story time every week at a nearby arboretum/garden. It’s free. It says “appropriate for children 3 to 8 accompanied by an adult”. Would you bring along your almost 1.5 year old? I really want to go but I can’t get a sitter every time for a free thing.

I’m glad you bp is good peaseblossom55. Dd screamed at me all week due to being sick and teething so I feel your pain. Next week will be better for E! What are your weekend plans? I’m going to the shoooooooooore! I’m so excited. Except, sil will be there so maybe not. We did bond over the royal wedding but yesterday in a group text she had a list of groceries for her parents to bring to the shore....for her baby. Now, they often will get beach snacks for my kids like pouches and goldfish which is nice of them but we always bring kid friendly food if we know they won’t eat the regular meals. I would never dream of sending them a list. It was stuff like bananas and baby oatmeal. Dude. Bananas are like 40 cents a pound. Bring your own. I do. I know she gets on my last nerve but it’s one little thing after another. The inlaws are bringing down their pnp because sil can’t be bothered to bring hers. I am 99% certain the baby will sleep in the inlaws room instead of sil’s which will piss me off to no end. I’m going to try to get dd and ds to sleep in the same room but if it doesn’t work dd will be in our room...like she was all last summer. I get very OMFG take care of your own kid about it. He’s the chilliest 10 month too so he’s not even high maintenance. End rant. So I’m actually looking forward to this weekend despite the above rant 😂

Lakes, have fun down the shore! H is sick again ( I feel like lately he has been sick a lot) so not sure. I wanted to get to the mall, go shopping for some summer clothes, but we will see. I think on Sunday we are going down the shore to be with IL's, Monday just relaxing at home.

Today is sunny and hot! I am about to log off from work and head outside to weed. Then, when the fam gets home, we'll do our first swim of the summer. Super exciting! But the rest of the weekend is supposed to be crappy. Have fun at the shore, Lakes ! Hope your H feels better, peaseblossom55 . @everyone - hope you have a great weekend!

Lakes we got both kids binoculars when we went camping last week and they were a huge hit for DS. M obviously just liked carrying them around and pretending to be a big kid.

Have fun at the shore Lakes! It’s our first beach trip of the year! Leaving in a few hours and we’re staying all week! I’m so pumped but a little nervous that this tropical storm will spoil our fun. I can’t wait to get in tons of time with my family and nephew and also not parent my kids ( Lakes I might be your SIL on this - my fav part of family trips is less parenting 😬 but I do bring food for my own kids!). Hope everyone enjoys the long weekend with your babies! Sorry for the weaning blues judyblume14. I know there’s so many emotions attached.

Yay for the beach carrots! Trust me, I’m all for doing less because the grandparents are there. It’s 90% of why I go. I’ll just be pissy if that’s how the sleeping arrangements play out because I’ve always had to sleep with a baby in my room. But I shall release it as soon as I’m on the porch with a gin & tonic!
