Ds is going to be 3 this weekend! I can’t believe it. We had a small family party last weekend because people are out of town this weekend and we’ll be babysitting our nephew. 3 under 3 😬
Preschool tour this morning. Perfect time for ds to pretend he’s a dog. He’s woofing and running around like a maniac. I know they’re use to three year old antics but I’m also laughing at the timing.

DD took her pull-up off last night (why?!), so I had to add laundry to my to-do list this morning before getting out the door. The day can only go up from here, right?
On a happier note, picture day at school was a big success. They even managed to get a sibling shot with both of the kids looking at the camera! Can't wait to get the files.

Ahhh happy birthday to your DS Lakes! peaseblossom55 responding to your post in April. Their weight gain is supposed to slow down a lot around 18 months/2 years. It’s definitely a weird mind shift from the baby stage but even from 12 to 15 months M’s weight gain has slowed a lot (but she actually jumped on the growth curve). M had her 15 month checkup last week and is up to 19.8 pounds. I’ve been stressing bc she barely drinks milk at home (daycare said she drinks a ton 🤷🏻♀️) but apparently she’s putting away enough food to make up for it. Lately I feel like DS sees M as more of his peer and friend than as his baby and it’s just the sweetest. She certainly thinks she’s his age and wants to be included in everything!

carrots thanks for the info. I knew weight gain slowed down at some point I don't know when. I think she gets bored with some of her food as well.

Today I stopped at the store to restock the fruits and veggies because my kids ate everything I bought on Monday. Granted, I ate some of the apples but the rest was the handywork of these bottomless pits I have for children. They are throwing off my budgeting! Guess it’s time to readjust. So far this week I’ve purchased: 9lbs of apples, 4lbs of strawberries, 2lbs of blueberries, and 2 bunches of bananas. Plus a bag of carrots and green peppers.

I can't believe E has her first full day at daycare next Thursday. I am starting to get nervous, she won't do well or that she won't nap well, or a million other things. I got these bird's nest vegetable things at Trader Joe's to go with dinner they were so good.

And then anything better is a nice surprise! I 100% promise that she will adjust and be fine and happy there, but I think being prepared for an adjustment period will set you up for more success and less anxiety once she’s there. I’ve never tried the TJ birds nests...adding them to my list for my next stock up trip! Are they frozen or fresh?

Lakes my kids are going through an obscene amount of fruit too. They’re not really into eating actual meals but go through 3 servings of fruit at every meal 🤷🏻♀️And totally prefer whatever is most expensive. Dumb question - how are you feeding the baby apples? I didn’t start feeding them to DS until he was 2 (even though he ate them fine at daycare) bc I was such a wimp.

carrots ds had all his teeth early and went straight to eating whole apples, no peeling or cutting. He would probably eat 5+ a day if I let him. Dd is just getting into them, I held off until she had more teeth. She likes to steal ds’ and gnaw on them or I give her thin slices of mine.

My nephew is here for the weekend! He’s 10 months to dd’s 15. They’re entertaining each other while ds naps. This is the most relaxing afternoon I’ve had in forever!
However...“Daycare said he projectile vomited today so have fun with that. Hopefully it doesn’t turn into anything” -my sil upon handing me the baby
She’s going to owe me a lot more than a couple date nights if he actually has a bug!

I figure nap will be an issue and possibly dropping off so not sure who will be best to do drop off H or me. lol.

H isn't home, I dropped the baby monitor on the floor, it popped open and the battery came out now it's saying no signal. I really hope H is able to fix it when he gets home. DNW to buy a new monitor.

Things I don’t miss: 1. Dealing with bottles 2. Spoon feeding purees 3. Having a non-mobile baby
But he’s pretty chill and there hasn’t been any more puke so I think we’re good. It’s so cute to see dd interact with him.

Yay baby monitor was not broken. I spent a lot of money on fruit for E this week we will see how long it lasts. She has her first full day of daycare thursday though.
Questions with your first when was your first night away from them? IL's have offered to take E for the night mid June so we can spent the night in AC for our wedding anniversary. On one hand I want to go and on the other hand I've never been away from her for the night. I have not been there at bed time, but never for the whole night. it has to happen at some point. I feel kind of torn.

peaseblossom55 I don’t remember exactly but I think it was around a year with ds. I know it was once both of them were sleeping through the night consistently because I felt bad having people, even grandparents, deal with motn wakeups and feedings. I vote do it!

I feel kind of torn. peaseblossom55 DS started having sleepovers with my parents when he was 4 months old, I travelled for work a few times his first year, and H and I went away for a long weekend when he was 10 months. I’ve been away from M a lot less bc she was wayyyy clingier to me and harder at night than DS but she’s had a few sleepovers with both grandparents. It’s always weird when we’re at home and there aren’t any kids and I miss them like crazy but I love going to bed and knowing that I don’t have to get up with them in the morning! Do what’s best for you - I think this an area where parents are all over the map!

Thank you Lakes & carrots I want to go. Think I may need to convince H. She has been waking up motn randomly for the past week or so. Hopefully that calms down by then too.

We’re taking the kids camping for the first time this weekend. It’s just yurt camping but I feel like we have a list of a bazillion things to bring! DS is so excited. Send good sleep vibes!

I can't fall asleep E's first full day of daycare is tomorrow. I know she will love it and this is so good for her. I am just so anxious about the transition. Today was mil's last day caring for E. She made me tear up she said she was so grateful we asked for her help and let her watch E it made her so happy she loved it.

My mom and grandpa are here. We just went to the public opening of a beautiful new garden. Mom is making bbq and the ribs have been in the oven all morning and smell amazing.

Thanks judyblume14. To be honest yesterday sucked. I was a mess all day. Mh made me a Shutterfly book of my mom which was thoughtful in theory but sent me into a tailspin. I couldn't look at it yesterday and put it in a drawer, I'm not sure when I'll be ready. I'm sorry life is stressful lately, I understand. I hope things turn around soon for you.
