enchanted - Yay, PT! That's awesome! Age: 1.25 basically Milestones: He's babbling and talking up a storm. He's also getting used to wearing shoes FINALLY. He hates them, but he's getting better. Challenges: Teeth. Effing teeth, man. He popped two in a day last week, and he has 3 lumps under the gums now. It's all or nothing - 4 teeth at a time or none for months. Also, the bottle. He's good with a sippy cup during the day. But in the morning and at night... the bottle is it. Nothing else will do. I'm sure I'll get an earful at his 15-month appointment. Funny/cute stories: He tried to eat his sister's art project and stained his face bright blue. It lingered the next day and looked like a huge bruise on his face. It was cute, but OMG LOL How are you? Tired. Dealing with some family stress. My mom's had some serious health issues lately and we're in limbo. It's not great, but we're dealing. Anything else? Frustrated with my household, too. The few weeks after tax season suck because I jump back into default parent mode and all I want is some quiet/sleep/alone time. FX it passes this weekend and we can all get along. QOTW: April 25th Dinner and drinks, followed by dessert and drinks. Oh, and mini-golf or pool

oldbaylover1024 also sorry about your mom’s health. Also sorry for the teething woes. Age: 3 Milestones: he passed his swim class today Challenges: napping, we are all over the map and I can’t seem to get his sleep managed. Some days he needs a nap some days he doesn’t. I’m not overly worried about it, but it’s causing things to be very inconsistent around here. Funny/cute stories: How are you? Tired, overall good Anything else? QOTW: Please describe your idea of a perfect date Delicious adult food, one glass of red wine, maybe a little walk about, to bed by 10... hopefully someday I get my date mojo back, I used to be more creative.

Age: 2 3/4
Milestones: A huge surge in independence this week. She's started taking off her shoes and trying to get undressed.
Challenges: As often happens with a cognitive leap (at least for us), she's very clingy and tearful and it's exhausting.
Funny/cute stories:
"Let's both have a chocolate biscuit!" * "Not for breakfast." "I've finished my breakfast. Please may I have a chocolate biscuit?"
* A British biscuit, not a US biscuit, of course :-)
How are you? Still tired. Seeing a series of doctors for test results. I have a partial answer but not the whole picture yet.
Anything else? We've got confirmation of our government funded preschool placement next academic year and it's what we wanted. She'll have one full day and three mornings in the same place where she goes now (we currently pay for two mornings a week). That leaves Wednesday free and we'll probably still send her to the childminder. If I get pregnant I'll need rest time for a high risk pregnancy, and if I don't I need to get my business going again.
QOTW: Please describe your idea of a perfect date.
We used to have lovely elaborate dates! Right now, I love the idea of a delicious meal prepared by someone else, and then maybe we'll take a board game to the pub. Our last planned date had to be abandoned because I was ill.

Age: 3
Milestones: More talking stuff
Challenges: Guys. Potty training. He has a hemorrhoid now. It's ridiculous.
Funny/cute stories: He helped me plant my garden earlier this week. Cuteness abounded. My tomato plants may or may not make a full recovery from toddler planting.
How are you? Tired, but good. I'm looking forward to a busy but fun weekend.
QOTW: It's funny- yesterday's weather was rainy and gross, but all I needed was a light jacket! An activity (like mini golf or bowling or hiking) followed by dinner and drinks. Our friends' oldest daughter is starting to babysit, and the boys love her. I'm looking forward to a lot more date nights this summer!

late as always Age: 1 1/2 yrs
Milestones: we dropped the before bed bottle finally, getting so much better at using utensils
Challenges: bath time she screams and cries at bath time hates getting her face washed and her hair washed because the water falls down her face
Funny/cute stories: this past weekend we went to the park she loves looking at the rocks, she took her sippy cup poured water on the rocks saying num num num which is what she does when she feeds her dolls.
How are you? fine just tired. This weekend go to the yearly memorial the hospital has for babies/children lost, so we go every year to honor Anne.liese.
Anything else? nope
QOTW: Please describe your idea of a perfect date. April 25th
But really a nice dinner with a good dessert and some theatre.

TW: pregnancy mentioned
Can I join? Also, not sure about the rules for discussing pregnancy here so if I mentioned too much, let me know and I can change it.
Age: 2.5
Milestones: Also potty training. We've had a couple of accidents, but for the most part I think we're set. We had been planning to wait for sleep training until he was older but he had other plans - started waking us up at night to help him pee. Still working the kinks out with that (mostly trying to not get him to wake us up!) but no diapers! Woot!
Challenges: He's 2.5! When he's in a good mood nothing but when he's not, typical toddler stuff: whining, misbehaving, and general disagreeableness.
Funny/cute stories: He is so excited to be getting a baby sister. He often pats my tummy and talks to her "Good night baby sister! Good bye baby sister!" It melts my heart.
How are you? So, so tired. As if I didn't have enough trouble sleeping on my own due to hormones, now I get woken up by a toddler pottying a couple times at night, too (two nights ago it was him slamming his door as he went back to his room).
Anything else? The weather is finally nice and it is so wonderful to be able to just take the kiddo outside to burn off energy.
QOTW: I like musicals, so a good musical and a good dinner. We have one coming up soon!
