1. How far are you now? 27+4
2. Symptom check: Not much, reflux, tired, and restless legs in the evening
3. What and when is your next appointment? Next Thursday with my ob
4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? Let me know if anyone wants to change up the format or frequency of the check ins. It's been quiet the last few weeks but I still would like the support to be there for everyone. I can do a new format if that's what the group would like.

1. How far are you now? 8wks
2. Symptom check: I feel like I’m dying from HG.
3. What and when is your next appointment? u/s on Friday, next OB appt on May 21st.
4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? I’m taking a 5wk sick leave from work starting tomorrow. I’m so sick, and it takes me 1.25+ hrs to get to work, and 1.5-2 hrs to get home. I just can’t do it right now. Hoping once I’m out of the first tri my HG will simmer a little. Also, PgAL brain is having me freak out that I’m not seeing my dr for 4 weeks. Last pregnancy I went every week until 20ish weeks. I’ve now passed 2 of my 3 losses though, so that’s something. The last one scares me the most though (12wks). So yeah, I’m a big basket case of nausea and vomit right now. 😂

Thanks for the check in, bananas22! 1. How far are you now? 29+2 2. Symptom check: nausea, vomiting, reflux, leg cramps, so so so tired. 3. What and when is your next appointment? I had a regular OB appointment today. All looked well, except my urine showed I’m dehydrated. With my nausea it’s really, really hard to drink enough, but I’m going to need to do better. I have a growth scan and placenta check Friday. I’m hoping it moved up and the previa resolves! 4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? I missed last week’s check in. I hope everyone is well! I did pass my 3 hour glucose test, so yay!

bananas22 GL on Thursday! How are the BH? librariangirl so sorry you are dealing with HG. I had it with my son, and though I’m still vomiting almost every day with this little lady, it’s (usually) only once a day with Diclegis this time around, and so much, much more manageable. I’m glad you are able to take sick leave. I hope you find relief soon!

bananas22 - thanks for the check-in! I think the whole board has been quiet lately, which is too bad. librariangirl - that sounds miserable, I'm sorry. I hope the nausea lets up for you. birch113 - congrats on passing your glucose test! AFM: 1. How far are you now? 28+4 2. Symptom check: constipation, ug. some back pain, but that's probably from lugging around the twins. 3. What and when is your next appointment? OB in two weeks. I just went this morning. 4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? I'm trying to decide if I want to have an epidural this time around. I had one last time and it was wonderful - I slept through most of my labor and when I woke up, I was fully dilated and it was time to push. So that was great... but I had to push for 3 hours to get out baby A and then another 70 minutes before baby B was born, and I wonder if my pushing wasn't as effective because of the epidural. I also have been thinking that since this is my last baby, maybe I should just try to experience what childbirth feels like? Is that totally crazy?? I would keep the option open in case something went wrong or I just couldn't take the pain. I'm also aware that anything can happen and I could end up with a c-section or whatever. But if things go as planned, is it crazy to consider skipping the drugs??

librariangirl, I hope the nausea lets up and the next 4 weeks pass quickly. birch113, FX your previa moved up and yay for passing your glucose test. My BH have stayed pretty much the same but not on any pattern so they aren't really worrying me too much. moto, I've thought about it too but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to go without an epidural. You could always try and the option would be there if you changed your mind.

Thanks guys. I’m on leave now, and things are much easier now that I don’t have to be in a car that much. I’m still nauseated and vomiting, but I stopped taking all the anti-nausea meds, and now at least when I throw up I have a little relief from the nausea. I went in on Tuesday and got fluids, so I’ve been feeling a little better too. I just met with my perinatologist, and I’m now on Lovenox, and saw baby bean. It’s measuring right on track at 8w3d, wiggling everywhere, with a hb of 179! Good luck with fluids birch113. I’m glad you passed your GTT! moto I had DS without an epi (I planned an unmedicated birth). If you have any questions let me know! It’s honestly crazy hard, but I don’t really remember how bad it was anymore. It really is crazy how oxytocin & endorphins can erase your memory of pain. 😂 Saying all that, I’m planning on having another unmedicated birth this time. You just need to make sure you have a strong support team.

moto I don’t think it’s crazy at all to try for an unmediated birth. Are you looking into hypnobirthing or other methods for pain management? bananas22 I’m glad your BH are stable! librariangirl so glad you’re home now and had a good scan! I had my growth scan today. Baby Girl looked great. She’s measuring 3lb 5oz and we got to see her practice breathing! My placenta hasn’t budged at all, yet, though, so that was disappointing.

birch113, Glad baby looked good. FX that your placenta will still move. Is it a partial or complete previa?

librariangirl - what happens if something goes wrong and you need an emergency c-section, but you don't have the epidural? do they have to put you under general anesthesia? and here's probably my biggest question... if you tear during birth, i assume that hurts a ton - and then how do they do the repair?? do they numb the area before they stitch?? i feel like i can try and handle regular birth pain without meds, but not a doctor stitching me up!! birch113 - i just realized the way my post could have come across... i don't think anyone who tries an unmediated birth is crazy! i didn't mean to imply that. it's more that i had such a good experience with my epidural last time that i wonder why i'm considering changing things up. i'm not a fan of pain, certainly. i just think maybe giving birth is a universal experience women have been having for thousands of years and maybe i should try and feel it?

I think they gave me a tiny shot of Lidocaine (or whatever topical numbing agent), and did the stitches. Honestly, I didn’t even feel it I was so happy holding DS. As for an emergency c, I would guess they would have to give me general anesthesia, I don’t really know. I had a fairly short labor, 6hrs, and then pushed for 2hrs. If I was laboring for over a day like some women do, I don’t know if I could have done it med free. I don’t think one is better than the other, but I definitely liked the ease of after giving birth. I felt so good.
