Sometime in the last couple of days, M has gotten it into her head that because she's smaller, she won't get in trouble for hitting S. Poor guy doesn't know what to do about It, he won't hit her back, because she's smaller and he knows not to hit, but if I don't see it, I can't stop it and I'm not always right in the room with them. I've been doing time outs, but it doesn't seem to help. I know I have to be consistent and eventually she'll get it. But in the meantime it is so incredibly frustrating 😥
ETA: I've also tried separating them, but it never lasts more than a few minutes.

We’ve had some rough days too. Winter needs to end. They need space to run and be crazy. I need the mess and noise outside.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a fun play date today then met my aunt for lunch. Then dd threw up all over the table at the restaurant. Was not expecting that! She’s prob thrown up three occasions in her life. She did tell me her stomach hurt one time this morning but seemed fine and played her little heart out. We got her home and she seems ok. Napping now.
Happy Friday!!!!

We’ve spent all day discussing blatant disrespect. I am done asking them to do things only to have them decide to do something entirely different. It is not a choice. My MIL ordered something from American girl for my oldest. There is no way in hell I’m letting her have that package until her entitled attitude changes. So frustrating!

Time change tonight! Yaaaaay - NOT.
I really hate spring forward and fall back. I also really dislike long summer days. I know that sounds a little crazy, but seriously - I don’t need it to be light from 4:30 am until almost 10 pm. TOO. MUCH. DAY.

I always feel like winter is out by that time, woo hoo!! Those are long days! I think 9 is th latest it’s light here in summer but sun is not up that early! I can imagine th days are long. I would actually like to stay on daylight savings time year round. I don’t like changing the clocks and think it has negative effects but like the extra sun at night. I just read the FL house passed a bill like this:

You guys::::: I pulled a muscle in my neck last night and it’s terrible. I can barely move without serious pain. I was literally sleeping and did this turning over 😳 I was crying so loud dd woke up (in our bed). I am taking It easy today and we are watching movies. Dh is going to buy a new car! He’s had a two door for 8 years so long overdue.

I just read the FL house passed a bill like this: I wouldn’t mind the extra light in the evenings during winter since it gets dark around 4:30 here in December, BUT then it wouldn’t get light until after 9 am in the mornings during that same time and that sounds insane and depressing. Since Florida is so much more south I think it works better for them as they don’t have as much of a swing in sunrise and sunset times over the course of the year. I’m also skeptical of anything Florida does, because... Florida.

dizzycooks I feel you on the disrespectful and entitled thing. S has been like that a lot the last little while. Last night we ordered Chinese food for dinner and he asked like 5 times if we could order him pizza instead. And every time I've told him to do something other than exactly what he wants to do he's basically ignored me and done what he wants. Not gonna fly, little man

DH took the kids to the zoo so I can study this morning and I told my mom this when she called this morning. Her response "He's taking all of them??" Uh, yeah. They're his kids too and it's the only way I can get any studying done. Then she calls an hour later "Can you bring me up to pick up my car in an hour? Just take a little break?" Yeah, that's why dh took the kids out for the morning, so I can take an hour and drive you around. WTH? I am get so frustrated by this stuff. She thinks she lives 5 minutes away, but I timed the last 'quick errand' I ran over there for and it took 30 minutes round trip. Today it will end up being an hour round trip. That is not a break. She honestly has no idea what my life is like. This car repair is her only 'thing' this weekend. I have a few other things going on. I'm probably being overly sensitive, but honestly. I am pissed.

My mom just called to tell me that her aunt passed away this morning. She wanted to let me know so I wouldn't see it on Facebook. She was close to 100 years old, so it's not surprising. She had Alzheimer's and the last few times we saw her she thought I was my mom. I don't think any of us will be going back for the funeral.

dizzycooks - can you just say no? I know it’s not easy, but i think you would have every reason to tell her you couldn’t drive her. Was it an emergency? Could no one else do it for her? Or take an Uber?

@kelltothekell all my sympathies for the pulled muscle. I do that every few months and it's excruciating. dizzycooks it kills me when my mom asks for a littler favor which is actually a huge jack to my schedule. You want be helpful but Lort they have no idea! Afm- we are finally almost healthy here. And apart from that I am just trying to keep all the chainsaws I am juggling in the air. We are taking L skiing tomorrow she has been a couple times with hubs but tomorrow will be the first day I get to go. A little excited. 😬⛷

@kelltothekell, I hope she's feeling better now!! A few years ago I had that happen to my neck, too. I stretched and then basically couldn't move my head for the next 5 days, making care for the kids (at that time 2.5 and almost 1) next to impossible because I couldn't carry DD2 without intense, make-me-want-to-pass-out pain. Even today that side of my neck feels strain from sitting at the computer much sooner than the other side. dizzycooks, no. Just no. Your mom gets a serious WTF from me. Did you do it for her? If so, you deserve sainthood.

If so, you deserve sainthood. I did it. I’m trying to be patient bc she’s staying with the girls when this baby comes...but... She asked if I got “enough” done and I just looked at her and finally said there’s never enough done. I have 45 hrs of class left, a baby to prepare for, and am still cooking a human. She had the nerve to ask me what the rush was. Smh. 🤦♀️ Dh took them for a hike this morning after he and I spent two hours sorting and cleaning and having a serious conversation about how and when we can/want to move. @kelltothekell I get neck pain like that every few years and it’s awful. Do you know a good chiropractor? I can usually go for 2-3 times and by then I’m feeling better.

dizzycooks the neck thing hasn’t happened before but I would def look into chiropractor or massage if happened again because ouch. Last night I woke up throwing up all over the place. I caught dds bug and haven’t been able to sit up all day I’m so nauseous. Thank goodness it’s the weekend and dh is here!

We are all coming out of circulating through the same sickness for weeks it seems. We all still have a bit of congestion and a cough but definitely feeling better.
I’m headed out on a work trip today and H and the kids leave Wed evening to meet up with me. It’s in Anaheim so we are taking the kids to Disneyland Thu and Fri. It’s spring break for DS. He has no idea so it will be a big surprise.
I’m kinda nervous about H flying with both kids on his own. I’ve never even done it!!! 😳 I packed for everyone and brought it with me so all he has to do is check the car seat and being their backpacks (also prepacked) and the stroller. My dad is dropping them off at the airport. So all in all it couldn’t be easier. Plus the flight is less than an hour. So fx dd keeps her shit together. She’s been quite the “toddler” lately so it will be interesting.

Yesterday afternoon, S started complaining that his ear hurt, and he had a slight fever. This morning he said it didn't hurt anymore, but he couldn't hear out of it. So I took him to the doctor. He must have had a stealthy infection and it got so painful because it was about to burst, and after it did, it stopped hurting. Apparently it should heal in a few weeks, but until then his hearing is going to suck on that side

She can point them down the hill and ski to us to stop her. Real turns or stops are not a thing. She is essentially at the mercy of the fall line. And we only do the bunny hill. But she loves it!

lollipop, poor guy! I hope it heals quickly. DD3 is getting her second-year molars and is quite the ray of sunshine as a result /sarcasm. But on the bright side, once these come in, we are DONE DONE DONE with teething!!

Total toddler puke fest last night. Three sheet changes later and we finally got her to sleep the rest of the night, yucko. One puke today and she seems to be. All to normal.

So what's your favorite Easter candy?
I bought starburst jellybeans yesterday and they are soooo good! I'm having a hard time not eating them all.
