aydee last night was just drop off, but I got to see one of my best friends and chat during it. Shopping is Wednesday night, and then half off shopping is Saturday! Wednesday will be fun because I'll get to spend time that friend as well as booarogue . Plus all the goodies I'll get. I'm glad the kitchen is going well, how is DS doing with it? DS is coping much better now. The first 3 days were pretty rough for a variety of reasons but he's adjusted well to our new normal now. He's pretty interested in watching the guys work now.

redandblue I can't imagine building a house after how stressed I am from trying to make decisions about this kitchen remodel. I spent my morning stressing about grout color. I can't wait until the decisions are done!

Last night I had a migraine. I was barely going through the motions. I put E to bed while H read books to Isaac. Today I found two of E’s pacifiers on the counter. His other two are unreachable in his room. Especially in the dark. In short, Ethan fell asleep and stayed asleep without a pacifier last night. So I guess I’ll try this at nap today.

Poppy had a rough night last night. She pretty consistently wakes up around 2am, but most nights I can walk her back to her bed and she will lay down and go back to sleep. (That is a huge improvement. I was sleeping on the floor next to her bed for a long while.) But last night something else was going on. She wanted her diaper changed. Then she said her diaper area hurt and she wanted cream. I didn’t see a rash, but I put cream on her anyway. Then she just seemed generally uncomfortable and she wanted me in her room, soothing her while she went to sleep. It took a long time. I am tired.

shellyr I grind horribly. Not sure about that cost, unless they are doing an upper and lower guard. My office did a soft one for $40, but I haven't been able to use it because they didn't listen when I told them about a bone shelf I have just above the gum line. Hoping they will adjust this one or make me a new one at no cost to me. My mom works for an oral surgeon and they made me a lower one, I think it cost me $150, but I only paid the cahrge for the place that made the guard itself.

It is surgery day for DS. We have to be there at noon. He's been complaining about being hungry for an hour now and he can't eat anything until after. He is also not allowed to drink anything. Fun times. We have to take 2 vehicles in case one of us has to leave to pick up K.

L's daycare just called. She was among a pack of children that went for a walk They found them down the street. So that is scary. But I think they are handling it ok, calling to apologize, firing the supervisor, and changing ratio policies. Still fucking yikes.

Can someone who does not care about the bachelor google if it's the finale tonight? I'm so behind due to the olympics lol. But I know from experience if I google spoilers abound. Betweenthelines are you still watching? Finale is Monday... 3 hours (!!!) I've already read all spoilers Ok I will need to catch up this week then! I want to watch finale on the regular day. armpants I am guessing what you found was the Bachelor Winter Games finale because I only have one more of those left on my PVR and no more are recording So still an answer I was interested in haha.

CestLaVie, i can just picture a group of toddlers just walking down the street, like hey, look at that leaf, let's go get it..and off walks 4 toddlers with no cares... What was the supervisor doing that this happened? How long were the kids gone? I mean i know safety is #1 but if she turned her back for a minute and the kids walked down the street and she was immediately aware of this..well i don't know. i am mixed on this. i am debating this in my head while typing. i mean kids are quick. and sneaky little boogers. but she should know where her kids are at all times...and not walking down the street unsupervised. ohh i give up. glad she's safe!!

This is why I'm half laughing about it. Like similar things have happened to me before. I don't think they got very far at all and were on the sidewalk. My best guess is something happened that preoccupied the person watching them (tying a kids shoe or solving an argument or something), the kids snuck out. Then like 2 mins later she realizes there are not enough of them on the playground and sees them down the street. That is my impression of what happened. Definitely won't be pulling her out of there or anything.

They took him back about 30 minutes ago - estimated surgery time of 90 minutes. Poor guy was starving. 😔

I just got the official notice in the email that was sent to all parents. Looks like they did just bolt out toward the playground just across the street and were caught right away so that's good. But yeah give me a heart attack thinking about them trying to run across the street!!
At least the school is at a dead end and has a school zone speed limit.. yikessss

CestLaVie their transparency about the situation is also very encouraging. I agree. The director reported themselves to the government and the child care worker was cc'd on that email as well. So I feel good about that.

CestLaVie, see i am almost thinking firing the teacher was a bit overboard then - if they just bolted. i mean like you said, she could have been tying a kids shoe, putting a book up in a cabinet - and was turned away for a split second. AND she caught them RIGHT AWAY. It's not like she was going about her day for 20 mins and then noticed. ok so i guess I am going to wk the teacher now. I still see how scary it was but i also see how this could happen to anyone of us with multiple children.

RunsforWineandCarbs I actually agree with you, but from the viewpoint of the daycare I doubt they feel they could have gotten away with lesser disciplinary action for liability sake. They probably felt they had to have a quick and significant response. I hope they are able to make her termination reason something less harsh for future employers and will still give her a decent reference.

poof
After talking to them again this afternoon, it sounds like they’re just going to do disciplinary action not firing for the reasons you said, and because the child care worker basically said this is a policy issue rather than a teacher issue. So that’s good.
