M hasn't shaken his strep yet. Had a mild fever the last two nights, so I'm calling the nurse this morning to see if they want to see him again. I have an OB appointment and glucose test this morning. Then tonight I drop off stuff for a consignment sale. Busy day.
Have a good one everybody.

I've been dealing with sick kids for the last 2 weeks, and I'm really hoping we're finally over it. I've never seen a stomach bug last that long - both big kids had it for 5 days. We've also been trying to break the swaddle habit with baby S, which is rough. Today and tomorrow are supposed to be decent weather (50°), and I'm hoping to get outdoors and enjoy it!
I need to call and set an appt for kindergarten screening. I'm going to struggle with this, for sure. Especially when I think about everything that happens in schools these days(violence, bullying, age inappropriate expectations, etc). There's been a few arrests in our area for threats made to schools, and my anxiety is through the roof. I'm avoiding the news.

yesterday was exhausting. we went to sea world, meet my little sister and her 2 boys. stayed 2 hours longer than planned. but it was such amazing weather and the kids were having so much fun. then to my parents for dinner. i taught my mom how to use her ip - we made rotisserie chicken. It was great. Got home about 8 pm. Both kids straight to bed and I jumped in the shower and promptly fell asleep afterwards.
Today, half day at work, doctors appointments for both kids which includes shots. ugh, not looking forward to it. Then home to get my workout in, dinner and baths. Exciting life over here...

I'm doing continuing education from home today. I need the break.
I'm hoping to go shopping too...I'm sort of looking forward to indulging in some tiny newborn sleepers.

You can click through the letters to see what it stands for. I believe in it much more than the hide and wait strategy. At least if he has a plan of his own, that is a start. How is it possible they aren't trained for it?!?

It is much harder to hit a moving target. Isn't it terrible that we even have to think like this?!

Isn't it terrible that we even have to think like this?! Ours used to be a lockdown/shelter in place plan but now it is the get out plan. That was always my plan anyway: get everyone out of the damn windows and run like hell. I'm glad to be on the first floor. It is terrible and enraging, yes.

Oh 6 year old. If you could listen more and worry less about your tablet, life would be so much better for the both of us.
While I am at, dear 2 year old. PLEASE stop trying to clean up/take off your pull up after you poop. I am not in the mood to do laundry every day or feel like I need to scrub the ever loving shit (pun intended) out of your hands!

If I want to prep a meal tonight to put in the IP tomorrow... Can I put the liner in the fridge with all the ingredients, just add liquid tomorrow and cook from there? Or should I put prepped food in another containers and just dump in tomorrow?

Or should I put prepped food in another containers and just dump in tomorrow? I would cook right in there since I do that with the slow cooker all the time. If it's in the fridge it would be ok I think!

mommabakes, My big kids head off to K next fall too and I'm dreading having to figure out how to talk to them about school safety. I shouldn't have to. They're 5 and we haven't really talked about guns yet much less people shooting children. That's not something any kid should have to think about.

Kitchen remodel is going great. I'm honestly surprised at how well I'm coping without a kitchen. This is week 2 and the floor is in, with cabinets going in tomorrow. I'm excited that it's really happening!

They're 5 and we haven't really talked about guns yet much less people shooting children. That's not something any kid should have to think about. I may have mentioned this. But I directly asked Isaac if he’s done lockdown drills because I’m not convinced he would stay quiet and I wanted to talk to him about the importance. I had to take a few deep breathes because I was ready to breakdown when he asked me why the had to do them. And this is what I said, “sometimes very bad people want to do very bad things and hurt others. And sometimes those very bad people come into schools. It probably won’t happen, just like fires and tornadoes likely won’t happen but you still practice just in case.” He didn’t ask any other questions

Isaacs classroom is the furthest from the main entrance/exit but right next to an alternate entrance /exit that is locked during the day. I don’t know how to feel about him being so close to an entry point. 😢

My OB was fine. Waiting on the results of my glucose test. M's appointment went okay. It took myself, a nurse, and the doctor holding him down just to look at his throat, but finger prick and blood draw, he was fine 🙄 She thinks he has a secondary infection that is similar to strep, but has a fever longer (it starts with an A, but I forgot the name) so his antibiotic was changed to one that covers more abnormal infections as well.

aydee last night was just drop off, but I got to see one of my best friends and chat during it. Shopping is Wednesday night, and then half off shopping is Saturday! Wednesday will be fun because I'll get to spend time that friend as well as booarogue. Plus all the goodies I'll get. I'm glad the kitchen is going well, how is DS doing with it?

OMG, next time i want to schedule shots for both kids while my h is out of town - someone please smack me in the face! I had to hold A down with the assistance of 2 nurses while the 3rd gave her the shots. The way both kids screamed and cried the entire time we were there (like 45 minutes) is ridiculous - you'd think we were torturing them. Agghhhh.
Ladies - please learn from my mistakes - do not take both kids to get shots at the same time unless you are heavily medicated...lol

The really fun seasonal allergy portion of the year has begun. DS has had red, irritated, dry eyes for the last week since it's warmed up a bit to the 50's.
