Tl/dr: is this a positive hpt or not? Longer version: I think mostish of you should recognize me and know my history. This is my first medicated TI cycle, and also a stressful one for me since I'm due for my period on my 37th birthday next week. I decided to do a hpt today (only 9-10 dpo, in the past I've gotten my bfps 11 dpo) because I wanted to find out as far from my bday as possible (in case of negative) and because in the past I have needed progesterone support and the RE's office isn't open over the weekend (in case of positive). After my false positive hpt last summer I am nervous. Is this a positive?

Never mind. I took a second and it is very obviously positive. RE's office still wants to wait until Monday to do a blood test. I am not sure how I feel about that but I guess there's not much I can do but wait.

I was about to say it looks positive to me! Congrats!!! Hopefully the doc is only suggesting you wait since it's sooo early and they want to ensure their blood tests can catch the right levels?

I see you answered your own question, but I definitely see that line! I know the waiting that comes at the beginning of pregnancy is so stressful (first betas, first ultrasound, etc.) Itβs hard, but I always try to remind myself that the wait is worth it for a more conclusive answer. It doesnβt do much to ease the stress, but at least it made me feel like I was waiting for a reason. Congratulations on your BFP and Iβll be thinking of you next week!

I was going to say it looks positive to me! Glad you got some confirmation. I hope you have some good, doubling betas next week and that it gives you some reassurance!
Congratulations!

I definitely see a second pink line. Been there with an evap, too, so I feel the anxiety in a false positive. *hugs* Would your RE be willing to write you a script for progesterone until they can do a blood test for your peace of mind? Happy early birthday.

Thanks, everyone! I decided that I am pupo and I called the RE back to find out if the progesterone I had from the last time around was still good (it is), so I started that this morning. I also thought more about it and decided that it does make sense to wait until Monday for the reason you mentioned, flyliceandcoffee and snowyowl. I will probably pee on all the sticks this weekend but oh well. H is away at a conference until later today so I am bursting at the seams to tell someone, so thanks for listening (and validating).

HCG is 129. I feel like this is high - I am 3w5d. I am nervous because I feel like I remember that blighted ovum results in higher than normal HCG and my first m/c last year was likely a bo.

HCG is 129. I feel like this is high - I am 3w5d. I am nervous because I feel like I remember that blighted ovum results in higher than normal HCG and my first m/c last year was likely a bo. That's well within the normal range. My first beta at 4 weeks with this pregnancy was 157. My first beta at 4 weeks with DD2 was over 500 and well into the 1000's before I hit 5 weeks. With DD1, my betas were on the very low end (first one was 18 at 3w5d). Just remember that there's such a big variation when it comes to betas. Try to not think too far ahead. Although, I know it's hard to not worry! For now, just focus on a good first beta and that you're pregnant. Take it one day and milestone at a time. β€ Congrats again!
