I had a dating u/s today and they pushed my due date back to Sep 8th based on measurements. For this to be possible I would have had to of tested positive at 3 weeks.
I didn't think that was possible. So now I am nervous but we did see a heartbeat so I am trying to not get to worried.
So have you ever tested positive at 3 weeks, maybe know someone that did? I shouldn't be worried about this right, my pgal brain is not being kind to me right now.

I got my positive hpt this time at 3w1d. I imagine it could be possible.

(I use the recent threads link, I will not be going here)
My pregnancy with the big kid, I tested positive between 3 & 3.5 weeks. I think that if you think of it moreso as X days post ovulation (say 10) instead of X weeks pregnant, it makes it okay. Tests definitely turn positive at 10 days post O.

I got my faint positive 4 days before expected period. And that was on a wondfo, so I think it would definitely be possible. And as pp said, maybe you just ovulated earlier?

Hey! I had a positive test at 3 weeks 1 day, so I definitely think it is possible. When are the bringing you in for a follow up scan?

I agree that testing positive that early is totally possible if you ovulated early and were using a sensitive test.

Hey! I had a positive test at 3 weeks 1 day, so I definitely think it is possible. When are the bringing you in for a follow up scan? The tech said she would send the results over to my doctors office and they would follow up with me. I hope they call tomorrow to let me know.

My first two pregnancies I definitely tested positive in week 3. I ovulate late and have an open on the shorter end, so it was just my norm. I turned tests at 9 and 10dpo. This one was 12 doing, but only because I wasn't tracking like before, so I wasn't 100% sure when I ovulated. I think it could be totally normal.

Hi, lurking from July 2018...
At my dating u/s baby measured only 7w1d instead of the expected 8w2d. That means I had a bfp at only 3w2d and it was very clearly positive. I’m also really regular and pretty certain about when I ovulated, should have implanted.
I had my NT scan last week at 12w (based on dating u/s) and baby measured 13w2d. Baby looks perfect and right on track for the original due date. So I think they just measured poorly at the dating scan. At that point, a mm can make a big difference.
The good news is that you saw a strong heartbeat! I too was worried about the small measurement but feel much better now after the second u/s.

I tested that early with my first. People get crazy with the pee sticks and if it was FMU it's totally possible. I wouldn't worry unless told something was up by your dr.

I don't know about the dates, but with DD (who is now a happy and healthy 4 year old), they shifted her due date by 10 days. So at what would have been her 6w dating u/s she would have shown up as only being less than 5 weeks. Going off of LMP is the easiest way if you're absolutely predictable but most people aren't. That's why a dating u/s is generally more accurate than just LMP. LMP is what they use unless they have a reason to change the date. Ovulating early or late can totally change things!

I would try not to worry. Already seeing a heartbeat is a great thing so I'd try not to worry too much about how far along you were when you got your BFP. PGAL brain sucks so badly though so not worrying is always easier said than done.
I hope you hear back from your dr tomorrow and they can further ease your fears / get you in for a follow-up scan soon.

My BFP with DS was at 3w3d, and I’m expecting this due date to be pushed back a bit. That’s awesome that you saw a heartbeat! PGAL brain is the absolute worst - try not to worry too much.

Thank you all so much, I have to admit when she told me I was only 6w 2d my heart immediately sank like something was wrong because the number seemed so off. I really feel so much better, other than the fact I feel like have an extra week added to the first tri.

I don’t go here either but the thread popped up. I charted and turned a test at 9dpo with my son and at 7dpo with my daughter. Previously I never ever would’ve believed the 7dpo thing, but maybe sometimes they implant really quickly.
I did 3+ years of charting and I’m very sure the O dates were right. Try not to worry!
