Everyone was up too early. The baby is already back down for a nap, DS and I are watching Word Girl.
We're going to head over to my parents pool later

I owe the kids a trip to the splash pad. I need to exercise but I have little motivation to move

We were invited to a birthday party but it's like 90 minutes away in Jersey. I would like to see my friends and the house is amazing, so C would get tired swimming, playing basketball, etc. But I don't know if I have the energy to drive, socialize, etc. Solo Parenting has worn me out.
I rsvp'd "maybe" so I'm not committed. I kind of had a feeling I would feel this way.

It's our only weekend free from grad and birthday parties until the end of July and I am so excited to not have to be anywhere.
I'm getting a new phone this afternoon and then date night. We may also check out a gym to join that has childcare and a swimming pool.

Good morning! I don't know why I'm up so early seeing as I'm kid free and on vacation.

Yep. He even got up to go get us breakfast. 💁🏾 Same. Why do you think I'm so tired and DH is running to Starbucks? Lol

Up early to take a bunny to the vet for sneezes and coughs. Oh, hope it's easily diagnosed and an inexpensive treatment. I had my two senior cats in for their semi-annual senior panels and annual shots last week, and, ah, stay at home, cheap weekend for sure here. Sympathize with all the other pet parents out there. Of course mine both need teeth cleaning, already scheduled, and my boy will be going on some meds for elevated thyroid. Guess next weekend (and the weekend after) will also be cheap weekends! But I wish they could have waited to dental cleaning month at the vet - but that's not til January.

Today my plans include floating, drinking, having sex, dinner out, then to a dance hall for a country show and dancing.

PB ate my post. It's Saturday night here. MH and I started a new tradition. It's DS's birthday tomorrow (2 years old?!!!). We got drunk and made his cake and wrapped his presents. Sounds like a great tradition! Happy birthday to your little guy.

We're still in bed. Watching Daniel Tiger, inspired by last night's discussion. I plan to put this on once my kid wakes up. I have the potty training episode ready to go.

I woke up wide awake at 4:30, so I've already been up for an hour. It's just as well, since my pregnant friend has had a major craving for chocolate chip banana bread. It was too hot to bake yesterday, but it's nice and cool at 5am. My loaves are almost done, and I hope they help satisfy her craving.

We are starting potty training today. DD has been going a few times daily at school so I'm hoping it's not too bad at home.

Good morning! We were all up too late at an event, but everyone beside DS1 slept in. DD is still sleeping.

I have a wax appointment at 1 and then I'm stuck in the yard spreading more mulch. This is my life now. Don't forget to wear shoes this time! I can't wait to see the finished yard- I know it'll look amazing. I know you probably will, but have a few drinks while you work. Alcohol always makes yard work more tolerable for me.

FFSC: Those of you on the KM thread on the other place may remember the broken cutting board shard my h insisted on saving.
Just now I couldn't find our smallish (non-broken) cutting board. All I needed was to cut up some grapes for LO so I looked for the shard.
I am actually disappointed that it seems to be gone.

G and I are chilling out at home for now. MH has my car and it's raining so no outings for us. I should probably start a load of laundry but I am not motivated yet.

I'm so tired. Why do the kids wake up earlier than normal on the one day we can all sleep in? Of course I went to bed later than normal. Me too. We've been binging on Jessica Jones and our sleep is lacking because of it.

Here with coffee. Need to peel myself off the couch to go shower. Mani and pedi this morning, and then some shopping probably. If only this rain would stop, it's making me lazy!

DS has been babbling/screeching like a pterodactyl since 4:45. I'm losing hope that he'll fall back to sleep. H already left for golf, so. Coffee.

We have my sisters graduation and party today. I was ten when she was born and I seriously begged my mom every single day for probably 5 solid years to have another baby. My mom was 41 when she was born and she was definitely an oops baby, but I couldn't have been more thrilled. I can't believe she's graduating. I am all up in my emoshuns today, clearly. I would love to hear more about you and your sister! DS was 10 when his little brother was born. He always asked for a sibling. I was 42. Far from an oops, but the rest of the narrative sounds similar. I'm worried it's going to be tough on both of them when ds leaves for college and LO is still in elementary school.
