Rama i honestly wouldn’t worry too much. My hospital is baby friendly with “no nursery for babies to go to” and they “don’t even have pacifiers to offer”. Guess who’s baby went to the nursery in between feeds at night and came back with a pacifier in her bassinet? Yup. Mine. They don’t offer a lot but IME will likely give you what you ask for: colace, more pain meds, food, a freaking break, more visits with the LC. They were so nice and happy to help - but I had to ask because their protocol is give you time to bond and minimize their “intrusions” and “interventions.”

Sorry I’m team : I just pushed a kid out and I need a few hours of sleep so please take my baby for a few hours.
I feel even worse for the c section mamas who really need rest to recover - baby friendly is great but if I need to send my baby to the nursery for a few hours I should be able to!

Rama ITA that the "baby friendly" hospital initiative is a load of garbage. My hospital was working towards that designation when I had DS, but in the years since has decided not to proceed. They definitely encourage rooming in, but still have a nursery. I was also way more comfortable in my own things when I had DS and plan to bring the same. I actually never wore a hospital gown. I labored and delivered in an inexpensive cotton nightgown of my own. I also showered as soon as I got my IV out. We had a waiting room full of family and it made me feel like a million bucks to shower, change into something clean, put on a spot of makeup and eat a big meal before anyone came in. I hadn't started thinking about a coming home outfit, but my mom recently told me that she is knitting one. Which is fine with me. I think she said she is doing dusty rose knitted leggings, a hunter green sweater with rose trim and a matching hat. I think it will be cozy and cute for coming home in March!
