Work day for me. We got our tree yesterday and will put it up in the next couple days. C has been asking for a star for the top. I've always been kinda anti tree topper, but I'll be going out to get out today. The things we do for our kids!

Groundhog Day over here. Dance, preschool, Starbucks, begging Charlie to nap. Nap, Charlie! NAP! I think we miss the mark for an afternoon nap because he's overtired. If he can go down at 10, I can wake him up at 11:55 and leave her preschool by 1205, but on Thursdays when we have to leave at 11 for dance getting him down around nine is too early and when we get home at 1:00 it's is too late. This too shall pass, right?

Busy day at work today and it's freezing outside and in my office. I don't care what they say. I'm going to get another space heater today. I'll just hide it under my desk. I'm shivering all day, every day. It's not reasonable. The heated blanket helps a little but not enough.

I'm leaving work at noon because I have flex time to burn by Friday. I plan to go for a run, pick up Panera lunch, and watch more Floribama Shore. Maybe even nap.
C's holiday show is tonight. The preschoolers are signing carols, then there is a pot luck followed by the School Age kids doing a play. We may not stay for the play, depends on C's mood. I'm excited though. C has been singing Up on the Housetop non-stop!

Matthew has been telling me that he wants to go to school. For some reason he thinks they're dinosaurs there? But oh well. It's progress! I keep telling him when he goes potty on the big boy potty he can go to school.

I just tried to put him down 10 minutes ago, and he's up and yelling for me already. I'm in a bad head space about this limited sleep stuff. I can lean into it on most days, but when we are extra busy, like we are today, it's too much for me.

I’m sorry guster, sleep is so frustrating especially when there is a plan for the day.

guster Leave him in his crib, even if he isn't napping, and take some time to yourself. If you have to, take him some toys. He's in a safe place, where he can't hurt himself, even if he cries, he is safe. Mama needs some time, which is best for everyone!

I have my last OB appointment this morning, aside from pre-op testing at the hospital on Saturday. DS1 has an appointment later then family math night for DD. I packed my toiletries and a sweatshirt for the hospital and washed baby clothes so I guess I'm as ready as I'm going to be.

I bought a Groupon for calendars off Picaboo this past weekend. Spent most of the afternoon yesterday designing them, made a few changes this morning, then went to check out, thinking I'd just pay tax and shipping, nope, it want's me to pay more. I'm kind of irritated, but my guess is I probably designed them wrong. So now I'm waiting for customer service to get back to me, which the response said could take 3-4 days. I know my patience level and that I'll just end up paying the extra to get them ordered, it's only $40.

I should do this, but I went up to check on him and he had pooped (which is what also details a lot of our naps). Everybody's in the family room playing and watching Ben and Holly. At least my 2nd cup of coffee is still warm.

Morning, friends.
B’s ear is finally feeling better, thank goodness. Since he was diagnosed with an outer ear infection it’s basically swimmers ear, I’ve been wracking my brain to try and figure out how it came to he and I think I figured it out last night. He’s been laying down in the tub! He thinks it’s neat and sounds cool, but I guess I wasn’t drying his ears enough. I’ve got to be more careful about that.
Qtips are a no, right? Are the kids ones ok to get water out?

PW here this morning. So the recruiter that contacted me again this week, REALLY wants me to talk to this company and they want to meet with me. BUT they don't know if they can meet the original salary I was told, and I refuse to take any less. I think I'll talk to them and check out their benefits. I looked at their website and it's a wig company. Which made me giggle to think that I'd be importing wigs. Oh the fun I could have if we get to play with them!
I also submitted my resume to a company last night online. One of the questions I had to answer was What makes me unique (they wanted an answer that would stand out). I don't really know how to answer that without being overly professional, so I'm sure I sound like a stick in the mud. I just talked up my communication skills and ability to make people laugh. although I don't think I'm unique.

I think I'm very quick to complain, mwhip while he's yelling for me. I swear I hear it when it's silent. As soon as he's out of the crib, he is the most pleasant child. I should probably listen to his cues more. When he doesn't want to nap, he doesn't want to nap and I guess I can't force it.

vino I put alcohol in M's ears after swimming. It usually helps dry them out. I still use regular q tips in her ears. It's not like you're going to jab it up there or anything.

I keep telling him when he goes potty on the big boy potty he can go to school. Are you planning on potty training over the holidays? I think I will give it a shot. I'm going to discuss it with his pedi tomorrow at his 4 year appointment. The last conversation we had about it he told me to just give up. Don't talk about it at all because he thinks it's a will power thing. He's refusing because he knows I want him to. If I show him I don't care he might give in. So far that hasn't worked. But he told me last night "I just peed" So I asked if he knew he had to go before he did and he said yes. I told him to tell me next time and we can go on the potty. He said "Eh, maybe tomorrow" Which is better than the blood curdling scream I used to get..

What ever happened with the company YH interviewed with out of state the other week? mwhip He sent them his work release form stating he can go back to work on the 18th (thank you sweet baby Jesus) and hasn't heard back from them. He isn't the most proactive person. For example, they told him they would reimburse him for the mileage since we drove down, and they would have paid for his plane ticket. He met with them 2 1/2 weeks ago and he still hasn't followed up about being reimbursed. I do think he will accept the position when it is offered. He just isn't worried about it since he has a job.
