Ever since my first pregnancy, I’ve had a little spot in my upper back, right at the top of my shoulder blades, that gets tight. But if I put my hands above my head and lean back a bit, it will crack and feel better. Never felt like a big deal. Except I did that last night and now it hurts a LOT. Deep breaths, putting my arms above my head, rolling over... All super painful. This is going to be really annoying if it doesn’t resolve itself. I don’t have a chiropractor or anything, would I call my OB? I don’t even have a regular doctor anymore because I am having two kids close together and have been seeing just the OB for three years.

snowyowl you could call and ask the OB what his/her thoughts are and maybe recommend a chiropractor for you.

Hi! G and I are up and dressed. We also already had breakfast. I have an OB appointment today but I am worried about the timing. My appointment is at 10. G gets dropped off from the bus at about 11:10. The dr is about 20 minutes from my house. I don’t want to cut it so close so I have to be out at 10:40 the latest. My OB notoriously runs late. If that’s the case today, I may not be able to have my appointment. She is also always booked solid so I can’t even change the time. I am going to go a little early and hope she is running on time. Other than that, we have no plans for today.

Good morning.
My day didn’t start great. I woke up around 5:15 with cramps and backache. Peeing didn’t make it better so I got up and have been drinking water and moving around. Now it’s less cramps and more back and hips but it’s still unsettling. I may call my OB if it gets worse.
I guess I’m back to Tuesday’s everything hurts and I’m dying...

I learned you can wake yourself up by coughing/peeing yourself. Pregnancy is glamorous.
Our child care provider's son woke up with a fever and sore throat so I'm keeping Kolby home so he isn't exposed more than he already was. I'm trying to decide if I could handle taking him to the children's museum by myself.

I woke up to DD1s butt in my face and the sound of diarrhea in her diaper followed by the smell. And I have a cold and can still smell it. This is day 4 of diarrhea but she's acting fine. The doctor said to put her on the BRAT diet and cut out dairy so I guess I need to do that. Why can't everyone just be healthy until I have this baby?

I'm still in the hospital, but if everything remains stable I may be able to go home on home care on the weekend.
The lady down the hall had her baby at just 24w. She weighs under 700g, and will be in the NICU for a while. Any thoughts or prayers that you can spare for this precious little one would be greatly appreciated.

I have a UO - why can't email thank you's be more socially acceptable? I am finishing up the thank you cards from my sprinkle and my work shower and can barely read my own writing. This is definitely a double standard because I expect/appreciate hand written cards when I give a gift but I hate writing them myself.

I was raised to write thank you notes (I'm not always the best at it, but I always do it for showers or really generous gifts) and I get irritated if I don't receive one. But I hate writing them... They all sound so trite by the time I get to the last one, my hand is cramping and my writing is a mess.

I'm sorry for everyone not feeling good or who are being exposed to germs! Here is a "funny" story for you. The two days before Thanksgiving my cousin posted on Facebook that she was tired of everyone in their house being sick. Son #1 had a "stomach bug" for 7 days and Son #2 was on day 4. Evidently it was so back they took #1 to Urgent Care at some point. So my mom calls her sister "I'm concerned about the germs around April, Grandma and my husband (me being pregnant, Grandma being 78 and Dad being 81 all with weakened immune systems due to pregnancy or age)" how bad are the kids?" Aunt gets all offended and starts yelling at my Mom asking "So are you telling me we aren't welcome at your house for Thanksgiving?" they go round and round, Aunt doesn't understand the risk of me being that sick and is just worried that her free meal is going away. Cousin then starts texting Mom about being "unwelcome" to keep the drama stirred up. They all stayed away and Thanksgiving was more peaceful for their absence. They kept trying to tell Mom that I could get sick by going to Wal-Mart, which is technically true, but that is different than being in close contact with an entire family who has a KNOWN ILLNESS that is worse than a cold.
On a happier note, I have a growth scan in about 30 minutes. I'm excited to see her and I hope I can talk the tech into doing a few 3D pictures for me.

I have been invited to participate in a clinical trial and I am really excited about it! I am not going to share too many details because I don't know what I can or can't say but it totally has me nerding out 🤓 I am at my screening appointment now to see if I qualify.

marygracerich, I have an appt at 11:15 and have to pick up DD at 12. I'm nervous too! I am sitting in the room waiting for my dr to come in. The latest I can leave is 12 minutes from now. That gives me 25 minutes or so to get home. Without traffic I can get Home in 15. With traffic it will take that 25. I am very nervous right now.

Update: dr didn’t make it into the room on time. I am currently in my car by my house waiting for Gs bus. Then I will put her in the car and head back to the dr. This is annoying but necessary. I don’t think I have felt baby boy live today so a scan at her office will make me feel better.

I hope everyone with appts today goes well!
My ILs stopped by quick this morning on their way through town on their travels and gave the kids each a toonie so I had to go down to the store to let them pick out a little prize haha. They were so excited.
Internet man was here today and replaced our modem so hopefully that solves our WiFi issues we’ve been having lately!
DS has his second last gymnastics class tonight, but I imagine H will go this time because I went last week.
Just kind of a quiet day around home though! At some point today or tomorrow I need to make cookies for an event on Saturday so I guess I better start thinking about that too.
Have a good day!

Hi people! I had a busy morning at school, I covered for the 8th grade teacher’s morning classes bc they were during my breaks & she had a conference to go to this morning. It was fun but exhausting since I didn’t get my usual morning breaks.
My parents are visiting this weekend & my mom just helped me finish hanging all the stuff on DDs walls! Their room is like 99% finished now!

Because a mailed thank you just costs money (a tiny amount yes, but still) and there is a 98% chance I’m going to throw it in the trash after I read it. I appreciate the gesture but I hate that someone wasted time and money on something that is not going to be kept.

As long as I know you got the gift if I wasn’t able to give it in person, I don’t really care how you say thank you. And I definitely don’t enjoy writing them!

aprilz81 one of my major pet peeves is people who expose others to highly contagious diseases so they don’t have to ruin their good time. My cousin and her vomiting kids tried to do the same thing when I was pregnant with DS at thanksgiving. They did call to ask if my grandmother “minded” them coming anyway, and my mom was relieved she could use me as an excuse. But really you shouldn’t have to tell people not to go to a party with norovirus! My UO, if anyone in your house has a stomach bug, everyone should be limiting their contact with other people where they can. I’m not saying stay home from work or school if you feel fine, just be aware you might be contagious long before you feel sick and act accordingly.

I was just texting with a good friend from grad school who is due a day before me on 1/3 and she is having another C-section too, one day before me. And is also having a girl! So crazy! I wish she was in the same town so we could see each other in the hospital but she's about an hour away.

It’s not just the first 24 hours after done with puking either. You can shed the virus in salvia and poop for up to 2 weeks. The further you get from the active sickness the less you are contagious. A related pet peeve of mine is when someone likely has the norovirus but says it’s food poisoning and not contagious. There’s obviously legit food poisoning (I got E. coli once in Mexico) but often “food poisoning” is really food prepared or touched by someone still contagious from the norovirus.

We would not even blinked an eye if it had been a cold, or if they had been over the sickness for a few days but she was griping all over facebook about "oh, my poor boys are so sick and have been sick for so long I just want them to feel better". She loves drama so she may have been over stating how sick they were for attention, if that is the case maybe this will teach her a lesson. But still, who in their right mind willfully takes a very sick kid(s) around a bunch of other family? Who would want to spread that to someone else, a pregnant woman or not?

rebeccabunch I give people a week before I’ll hang out with them after they have a bout with a stomach virus. I know I’m on the extreme end of cautious, but I have a major phobia of vomiting and I’ve done waaay too much googling on the topic of how and when you can get it. But I haven’t thrown up since I was nine so... thanks Dr. Google? 😛 aprilz81 If you have a cold, come to dinner, just don’t hug me. But “horrible stomach bug sweeping through the whole family, see you soon!” is just bizarre. Especially when you will be around the elderly and other vulnerable people. I hope she gets over herself and realizes no one was rejecting them... just rejecting a week of being violently ill for the sake of one family dinner.

On the topic of sick family and holidays... last year a friend told me they (her, her husband and her 2 year old, along with his parents) were going to stay at her brother in laws house for Thanksgiving. It was a little over three hours away I believe? Two nights or something. They got there and brother in law and his wife had a stomach virus, vomiting and such, but didn’t say anything because they didn’t want to ‘mess up the plans’. Ummmmm no. No thank you.

Hey there! Today was nutty at work. I’m so sore tonight. I’ve had a limb in my ribs all night and I’m about to reach in there and move it myself!
To comment on the sick families going to things anyway. The last two family Christmas with my in laws, Wife’s cousin has brought her 3 boys who all had bronchitis. 2 years in a row. She doesn’t vaccinate. They’re always sick. So my son was 4 months old and 1 year 4 months. Last year he had RSV a month prior. So annoying. But vomiting and diarrhea? Oh hell no.
