I really don't know much about Matt Lauer and it's been years since I've seen him in action. His pornstache he was growing was timely. From a lot that I've read many people said they got creeper vibes from him and I know nothing of the Ann Curry thing. Can anyone fill me in? Did he do gross things on air or was it just rumors for a long time? I saw that he's accused of flashing himself and sending "gifts" of sex toys. Pervert. Oh I don't know if he did anything to her, more that she was pushed off the show. I think that's when Savannah was brought in? I can't stand Savannah for some reason, I used to like her when she was the Washington correspondent, but now she seems so fake to me. There had been rumors about him and Natalie for a while though.

guster, that's so frustrating! I hope the one who takes your insurance gets a cancellation! I have no clue how much something like that costs out of pocket, but it doesn't sound fun to pay

We’re watching Christmas at Rockafeller Center right now. Gwen Stefani sang a little while ago and either something happened to deepen her voice or I never realized it was that deep before.

We’re on our way home from hibachi. So delicious and I’m so full. Dh somehow got off the hook for the happy birthday song and made them sing it to N instead. She had fun. H was not as pleasant so I let him watch Mickey in the high chair so i could enjoy my dinner.

I don't even know who Natalie is. Never really watched the Today show.
+5 to thinking something about Matt Lauer always seemed creepy.

The day is finally done. Went and picked Cadence up early from school and brought her back to the office, where mh met us and we went to Peppa Pig Live. I thought it was cute and Cadence liked it. Although she did ask me when the girl was going to stop singing. We had the after party passes, which got us each a metal lunchbox and Cadence got to get her picture taken with Peppa and George....and the people who controlled them from behind. It was weird that they were seen the whole time, but the kids didn't seem to notice, or care. After the show we went to eat at a pizza place, so we got home late, gave Cadence a quick shower and after 2 stories she willingly went to bed. I'm exhausted. ETA: a picture of her completely zoned into the show. And yes, her hair drives me crazy because random strands always go in her face.

DH just got home at 10:20. Sunny41 I asked about gifts. He said that any kind of snacks or Gatorade would be great, just leave a note that says it’s for the delivery person. Some people give gift cards apparently too.

I'm intrigued by a possible love child. I think I last watched The Today Show when I would take a mental health day in high school. I couldn't believe how old Lauer looked when I saw the stories about him today.

I'm in the peace and quiet of the guestroom again. Chase has had a rough start to the night - I think he has an ear infection, boo - so after about an hour of trying to settle him, I went back to bed to a snoring husband. No thanks. Also in light of yesterday's thread, I'll now refer to him as BaC (ball and chain) and Chase as BS, or budding sociopath, as I affectionately call him. I'm still working on an appropriate nn for Colin, but I'm open to suggestions.

klong11 I also thought it was weird you could see everyone but mommy & daddy pig. That girl’s voice got on my nerves after awhile. I’m glad Cadence enjoyed it and y’all had a good day.

Thats very sweet. I will do that when the guys are working on my house. Thank you! Sadly, anything I leave out for people dropping off packages, my dogs would eat lol. Maybe I'll grab some of those gloves that you can use with a smart phone, they all have tablet things that they use. Those might be appreciated for the winter. And as soon as they get wet they're painfully cold so having extras is helpful.

Some people give gift cards apparently too. excellent. We give our mail people (2 of them) special xmas gifts because they are like our neighbors. Elliot greets them everyday. But the other deliveries are made at 8pm year round and we never even see them they are so quick. The reason I asked if they would actually take something is because there has been a dicussion at work that the custodial staff does not take candy or anything despite signs "please help yourself". I can understand they might be in a different position where it isn't clear if it is intended for them. We have been explicit with the building staff that they are welcome to the treats marked "help yourself".

trtlcrzy and Sunny41 Thanks to this thread, I think I will leave a treat or GC out for our delivery men this season. We do always leave a holiday card with cash for the mailman...in our neighborhood they walk on foot and come up to the house, and I could practically set my watch by it, our mailman is so prompt each morning. peachsmama the Amazon deliveries always freak me out...the first time I ever noticed it, this white Mercedes sedan pulled up and parked out front of our house here shortly after we moved in. Then this guy comes running up, leaves the package--which I hadn't ordered (turns out it was a gift from my parents)--and sprints back to the car and peels out. I guess I'd missed the memo that Amazon was doing that and was really almost afraid to go to the door! lol. The other day we had a big Suburban stop by.

I think they need some kind of sticker/sign on their car and maybe something on the top like pizza deliveries? We see about 10 different ones out by us. My neighbor had one that didn't speak english but she could see her package on his lap and the poor guy was so confused. She didn't want to reach in his car and freak him out more but they just could not communicate at all. He eventually left and came back like 30 minutes later and handed her the package.

The Ring recorded one a few weeks ago pulling up in front of our house, walking up through our yard, standing at the bottom of the steps and tossing our package to the front door. It wasn't breakable, but if it had been, it would have been destroyed since he threw it ~5-8'. H pulled the recording from Ring and emailed it to Amazon complaining. I'm sure we are on a list of all Amazon drivers now...

We had a driver afraid of the dogs and instead of calling the number on file (like all the others do) he would just say deliverable. It took her a week to get a package she needed. Half the times we were home and he could of honked and we would of come out but he would just leave. We would get the notification and see him going down the driveway. She called customer service and now there's a note that pops up on their screens to leave it in the barn if no one comes out. ETA to add: she wasn't very nice to customer service.. Thats why I'm guessing she's on the list lol.

My mailman is afraid of dogs and delivers mail on foot. If I'm out with my dog when he comes by I have to grab him and hold him on the porch and the mailman will leave the mail at the end of the driveway. My dog likes to run away and I always feel terrible when he's wrecking havoc on the neighborhood when I know the mailman is delivering mail.

She gave our house to another person and whenever he was on vacation we never got our mail. Poor woman was mauled by a dog so I get it. But it was still annoying. The person she gave it to, asks R about our dogs all the time though. He would sit down on the porch and love on them every day. It was sweet.

There is a street in our neighborhood that isn;t techinically through and for "emergency vehicles only" the fedex and ups are constantly using it to cut through. I know it is the demand for so many packages to be delivered quickly

I feel like you shouldn’t deliver mail or packages if you’re afraid of dogs. It’s a job hazard you know of going into it. Anyway, DH keeps a box of dog treats with him so he can give them to dogs on his route.

Now, peach’s delivery person was mauled and that’s scary so I can see how she wouldn’t want to be around them. But there are other (not desk) jobs within the USPS she could do. My friend’s mom worked for them for many years and was never a delivery person.

But it's been years and she still has physical issues because of it (SMALL town lol). But I do agree about not taking the job to start with if you know you're afraid of dogs. Like my pedi had a medical student training there that didn't seem to like children.. Maybe not become a pediatrician then?..
