Eeeek! We are having an unseasonably warm start to December again and it's in the 40s a few days. I will be taking this opportunity to get Christmas lights up before it's too cold. Do you go whole hog for the holidays? Or just do a string of lights or two?

We are putting up a decent amount of outdoor lights - the roofline on the front and sides, and then a tree and light pole. The inside of our house is completely Christmassed out already. Anyone doing any cyber Monday shopping? I think I might pick up a few things from glossier.com since it’s all 20%

I grabbed another double hooded sweater short from mindy maes market. The one I bought this summer ran really small and my pregnant belly isn’t fitting so well. I also ordered a few things we needed from target since there was an extra 15% off. I was trying to buy some things from michaels, but the site kept dumping my cart so I decided it wasn’t meant to be. I also found out this morning that my tenant wants out of his lease. It’s suppose to go until June. I’m pretty sure dh and I are selling the place. I am tired of it and it doesn’t turn a profit. However that means a lot of work in January to get it sale ready. Not excited.

dizzycooks having a rental always sounds good in theory to me... until I remember I don't really like dealing with people and that they are usually ridiculous. Good luck with all of that.

Last year was the first year we did outdoor lights, we just had a string around the doorway. This year I'm putting a snowman that my mom made outside and probably around the doorway again and calling it good. We'd probably do more if we had a yard or more room on the front steps. Inside we only do the living room, mostly because we only really have the tree and a couple of things for the mantle. We don't have much to put up in other areas. Maybe I'll see if we can grab some stuff for the entryway and playroom...
I don't shop online much. We ordered the liners for M's boots on Saturday because they were 40% off, but that's about it.

I feel like I should shop to get some deals but o don’t really have a plan so I feel like I’ll miss it. I might look around online when dd goes to bed. I did buy my make-up (Lancôme) because it was 20% off. We don’t do much outside but put up a few small wooden decorations. Might try to decorate inside next weekend. We had a nice thanksgiving overall. Sadly, my doggie passed away overnight after Thanksgiving. She was older and had health problems but was still a surprise. I hand fed her turkey, ham and cheese and then dh put her in her bed and I found her an hour later. I feel like it was a good way to go. Dd keeps asking for her . We do have another doggie which has helped a bit. Happy week to everyone. Hope it’s great.

@kelltothekell I’m sorry about your dog it takes kids a while. My dd2 (3) asks about our dog all the time. ALL the time. scorpioscuba you commented on the other thread, but I’ll reply here. I feel like I have stuff everywhere. And then I walk into other peoples houses and realize I have very little. I’d still prefer less. Minimalism works. It’s easier to pick up and easier to clean. This may motivate me to clean out a few cupboards today. My toughest area is definitely kid stuff. It seems silly to get rid of when the next kid may need/like it in 6 months.

I read something a couple of weeks ago about how minimalism doesn't work for everyone, especially lower income families. Part of it is the thing where they say that if you've gotten rid of something and later find out you actually did need it, you can just buy a new one. Another part was that people with lower incomes don't want to get rid of stuff that they've spent money on in the first place. I forget everything it said, but it made some good points, and definitely resonated with me and the reasons I struggle to get rid of stuff.
I can definitely see the appeal of having less stuff, but I have a hard time with it.

We're babysitting for my BFF tomorrow. Her H's grandfather passed away, and her MIL has to meet with lawyers. Since her MIL is the usual babysitter, I offered to watch her if they needed. I forgot I had a Dr's appointment, so I need to either call and reschedule or H needs to stay with the babies while I go.

My BFF's LO was not impressed with us this morning. She freaked when her dad put her in my car, calmed down on the car ride, and then freaked out again when I took her coat and boots off, I think because she realized that meant she was staying. She's good now, as long as H doesn't get too close. She and M are playing in the playroom and watching the wiggles.

@kelltothekell yeah...idk how this has happened. I’m really not ok with it. Dd3 has been in undies for 10 days now with very few accidents. I guess we are doing this. Or did it? Craziness! I’ve decided two years of reading naptime stories has preprogrammed my body to want to sleep at 1pm. It is so hard to do anything at that time!

dizzycooks that’s awesome about the potty training success. I’m sure that’s a good feeling! I’m putting potty training in the think about it later category, ha.

Crappy naps all around. C slept for less than half an hour and freaked out, I assume because of the unfamiliar room. M slept for about an hour. I think the guys working outside woke her up

We had nad bad here today too. Yuck. I posted our rental for rent at what I thought was an insane rate and I’ve had three people contact me as interested. I was hoping for no one, it would make selling it a lot easier.

I'm so tired. I slept like crap, partly because H was snoring like crazy. Then I had to get up early and move M's car seat so I could get C. Now I can hardly keep my eyes open. After my BFF picks C up, I have to switch M's seat back and grab a shower, then the kids and I are heading to my mom's for dinner. After bedtime I need to start working on the pjs I'm making everyone for Christmas. Hopefully I'll get them done by Saturday.

My mother neglected to mention that my aunt's boyfriend, who is barely older than me, and who I hooked up with once upon a time is coming to dinner. A little warning would have been nice.

I occasionally ask dd2 if she wants to pee on the potty chair or toilet and she has no interest - so I’m not pushing it at all. It will happen down the road.

lollipop OMG that would be so awkward. Sounds like you’ve had a day. Time for bed!! It's actually not bad. We're both pretending it never happened. He's mostly talking about my cousin's baby that my aunt just got custody of. And other assorted family drama. nellieoleson 2 hours is about average for M. Anywhere between 1.5 and 3 hours is normal.

L does a consistent 2.5-3hr nap at daycare. Here we are lucky for 1hr. If anyone is doing anything. Potty training is kind of happening. She does tell us when she has to pee. And this week she cobsistently has been telling us she she pooped so hopefully that's next. Currently the biggest problem is if she goes in to use the potty then she wants to shower. The kid would spend all day in the shower if she could.

We may be in the process of creating a monster. None of our girls has ever been willing to sleep in our bed to give us a bit of extra time in the morning. However, I recently started trying it again with DD3 because she started screaming at 5:30 am, and it works. She comes to our bed and either lies there quietly or falls back asleep. I'm afraid she's going to start waking up earlier and earlier to come into our bed, though, and I don't know if I'll have the willpower to just let her scream at 4:30am when I have to get up at 5 (for work) or 6 (other days).

Do any of you have anything like this? www.amazon.com/dp/B008CO812U/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1YZDU1ORW1NQB&colid=1Y23QOW4B0HYM&psc=1I'm thinking of that for DD for Christmas. I think it might be good for walks to the park when DS wants to ride his bike and DD doesn't want to get in the stroller. She is boycotting it more and more. Also, it seems pretty easy to transport so I could use it out and about at our outdoor malls for walking around, etc when she gets tired. But a little worried she might already be a little to "big" for it or will outgrow it fast. Any other good ride on toys you all like?

dizzycooks, but at least at the insane rental rate would you now be turning a profit?? crimsonandclover, it's a slippery slope. Been there done that. But for me, sleep always wins!
