I'm about to go get that stinkin' Elf on the Shelf because my child is a terror. I'm side-eyeing myself, but things have gotten desperate. T's new antibiotic smells horrible but he takes it with no problem so Elf can see.

T's new antibiotic smells horrible but he takes it with no problem so Elf can see. So far, he couldn't care less. Of course, I should have known. He didn't want to look for the Elf, doesn't want to give him a name, and covered his ears when I was reading the book. This kid is something else.

Maybe tell him the elf was sent by his favorite band?

We recently started giving C a "treat" after lunch and then one when L goes to bed. The treat could be a piece of candy, to make brownies (he loves to bake), paint, do something special, ect. If he misbehaves in the morning he loses his afternoon treat and if he does in the afternoon he loses the evening one. So far it's been the first thing that we've had some success with.

In the moment, he won't care. Whatever we say, "there's no dessert, etc" he'll just shout back that he doesn't want it anyway.

C doesn't care in the moment either, but after he lost it a few times (he cares when it comes time and he doesn't get it) he will sometimes respond to us telling him to correct his behavior now.
