I'm excited for the short week but I'm sure it will drag a bit. I'm fighting off a head cold and hope I'm over the worst of it. We're traveling to my dad's on Wednesday and I don't want to feel miserable when visiting. I can't wait to see everyone though. Fingers crossed that my grandma makes my favorite broccoli salad!

Work is going to be hellish this week. I have so much to do! Luckily Friday I can work from home. I am really looking forward to thanksgiving though.

Only working 1.5 days this week then it's the Thanksgiving marathon of spending Thursday at my ILs and Friday at my parents house! I'm looking forward to not worrying about my to do list for a couple days and soaking up some family time.
Also I need to confess that we put up our outside Christmas decorations on Sunday (garland, bows, lights). I'm feeling self conscious about it but we had the free time so it seemed dumb to wait. I'm sure my neighbors think we're crazy but at least I've resisted turning the lights on so far!

Hi, I'm here with coffee. I have an appointment this morning but read my planner wrong and I'm an hour early. Mh is with the kids so I'm going to sit in my car and enjoy this happy accident. carrots mh put our lights up yesterday, it was really the only time we will have time so we did it. We turned them on last night because dd was so excited about them.

I’m pretty pumped for DS to see the lights meeggaannw! I’m thinking on Thanksgiving night we will make a big deal of lighting them and wearing Christmas pj’s and then go get our tree the next morning to really kick off the season all at once. This just gets more and more fun as they get bigger!

Swamped at work. we'll be splitting time between our parent on Thanksgiving. it'll be a little hectic/annoying, but happy to be able to spend time with both families.
I made homemade kielbasa on Sunday that i'll take to my dad's. It's an unwritten recipe passed down in my mom's family. When she passed away, my aunt took over making it. In the past few years, I've take over it. This time, my big girl "helped" and it was a very sweet activity for me that made me think of my mom.

Help me.
WHAT KIND OF SHOES ARE YOUR KIDDOS WEARING THESE DAYS?
A keeps pulling her shoes and socks off. It is cold. Her feet are going to turn to ice and break off. She's cruising and heading towards walking. i can't seem to find appropriately sized hand-me-downs from her sister. And I don't remember what she was wearing at this stage...

judyblume14 we are in the same boat. I have M in Pediped or Robeez shoes but with little luck in keeping them on. Girl loooooves to pull off shoes & socks! So she’s always barefoot inside and I feel like I’m fighting a constant battle when we’re on the go.

E keeps pulling off shoes socks she is better at keeping on for now. She is cruising too. I got some sneakers for her in target and some dress shoes from carters.

Work was so busy today. E was up several times last night and it took her awhile to fall asleep tonight. I don't know if it's teething or bad gas. She has been so gassy.
I'm hoping this weekend to get E to Santa for holiday pictures. I have no idea of how she will react to Santa.

I’m on my way home from Switzerland! My luggage is packed with chocolate. Last night I had a dinner of fondue and raclette. I died and went to cheese heaven. Naturally, I thought of you ladies. 😉

B pulls off his socks and shoes too these days. I have to put them on right before I walk out the door, otherwise by the time I have everything else ready he’s barefoot again. 😐

I take the kids to see Santa at a beer garden. That way if it's a disaster I'll find solace in a liter mug of beer and a hot pretzel the size of my face.
That being said, the first year was fine. The second year was stranger danger. I'm predicting dd will be chill and ds will flip, parents will have to each hold a child and be in the picture. Cheers!

We do breakfast with Santa at our alma mater. Laid back. Inexpensive. They don't rush you through the pics, take a ton, and let you come back and try again if your kids go nuts.

We've never done santa, not for any reason, just haven't. We honestly probably won't do it this year either, we are traveling the first half of December so this year feels hectic already.

The kids somehow pulled to lid off a snack cup and spilled cheerios everywhere. I'd be upset but they've spent the last 20 minutes picking them up and not antagonizing each other so I'm going to call it a win. I planned to run the vacuum during nap time anyway 🤷♀️

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. It was a long tiring day but E had a great time. So much food. I had to work today but it was working from home and we got to log out early. Now I am debating if I should decorate the house for Xmas or not.

We did photos with santa yesterday, she started to cry but then we distracted her with toys to get a really good picture of her smiling! I am so happy. The christmas tree is up I need to add ornaments tonight though. Luckily E has not cared too much about the tree or trying to destroy it.

I'm back home and glad to be done with the holiday traveling. We got our tree this morning but it's still on top of our car. Dd almost swallowed a googly eye from one of ds' turkey crafts. That would have made for an interesting poop! I'm glad you got a good Santa pic peaseblossom55! I did Christmas card photos yesterday at my dad's and none of our family shots are usable because the kids were so serious. I did get a couple cute ones of just the kids and some individual shots. Such is life!

Lakes M has a confused/annoyed look on her face in the photo I’m using for our card. We couldn’t get any with all 4 of us looking decent either! I put one of each kid alone on the back so people can see they actually are kind of cute kids.🤷🏻♀️ peaseblossom55 we decorated our tree this morning and M has pulled off every ornament she can reach and broken 1 (even after I tried to only put unbreakable ornaments on the bottom half). I’m guessing by the end of the day, all the ornaments will be migrated to the top half. DS pulled his little potty out to the living room this morning bc he couldn’t be away from the tree long enough to pee. While sitting on it, he sighed “I love this Christmas tree.” Me too kid, me too.

We have a pack & play set up in our entertainment room where we spend most of our time with E, that is what we use to change her diapers versus bringing her up to her room on the other side of the house. She is starting to get too small for the changing table in the pack and play now. Any other ideas/suggestions?

I haven't been able to change R on an elevated surface for at least a couple months, I can't trust him not to flip and roll around. I honestly just put him on the floor in whatever room we happen to be in.

We leave for a 2 week vacation on Wednesday and we will be getting our tree at the end of it. I'm happy to be going to a farm again to cut it down but I'm kinda bummed it won't be up until the middle of December.
