So I'm trying this whole "no tv in the afternoon" thing with A. She has so many toys and they just sit here because she gets sucked into the tv. It's going well so far.. we played a game that she got for her birthday but didn't open yet, put together 2 floor puzzles, played with playdough, and now she is putting all of her stuffed animals in reusable bags and carrying them around the house. I did just turn the TV on for myself to listen to but, hey, it's the food network... Ain't nothing bad about that!

taketheshot I also will turn the tv on for me. M ignores it and I have my background noise.

And M has a 102.3 fever. He's still on his antibiotics from strep. I guess we'll be back at the doctor tomorrow 😔

Every time we have a doctors appointment my doctor asks that we have s1teachers fill out a short eval go see if things are going well. In my opinion if communication is on point I would have no surprises. I had surprises. I have not gotten his special ed teachers yet. But the one I got from his primary teacher is full of 2’s and 3’s Which are not good scores when you are on medication and here I thought the medication was doing a good job. Lord knows I’ve asked many times! I’m anxious to get his special we teachers. His appt isn’t until next week (a week from tomorrow) but work the holiday I wanted to give plenty of time

That sucks that the communication isn't there jedi. Have you thought about taking to the guidance counselor or principle to help with that?

jedi I'd be upset if there were any surprises too. Especially if you've been asking for updates and they've been good. Do you have any paperwork from your previous conversations about his behavior? I would address this lack of communication with your team and how upsetting it is to get surprises like this. Big hugs. I hope you get things running smoothly for S1.

taketheshot I've tried doing more "no TV time" during our days. I can't turn it on at all though because w stares at the TV. I do like the Pandora app on TV though because there's not a lot going on screen.

jedi one thing to consider with those kinds of checklist are about perception of how frequent something is happening and not about 'going well or not well'. So your son's teachers might say he does 'x' behaviour frequently, but doesn't say anything to you because they don't see it as an issue. I'm not sure if I'm explaining myself properly, but more coming from a place that it may not be that communication is that bad, but rather they have the skills, adaptations, modifications and/or resources that they need in order to make your son successful, therefore things are 'going well'.

armpants the ped was pretty dismissive about the tantrums...'he's two' and 'ignore the behaviour'...I will keep an eye on it. General tantrums (however significant he can get with them) I am fine. It's the fact that it seems pretty consistent when he wakes up is more what is concerning me. I will have to see if daycare is seeing these things as well (they have not reported anything, so it could definitely be just behaviour). Ped discharged now. I'm okay, because I wasn't crazy about his overall advice he gave (he said time outs...I pretty much shut down after that, I agree don't with that...not that I'm against 'time outs' as long as it comes from an attachment perspective...which is tricky advice to give a parent of a two year old, without further information...) anyways, I'm sure it will be fine. We will continue to monitor and if I'm still concerned I will get a referral to a different ped...

armpants I’m going see what his special ed teacher says. I mean she’s great and has told me that he’s definitely working on things. But based on what I got from his primary teacher I’m certain they will want to stop current meds and attempt the one he needs to swallow again. There is improvement but I had thought more because I hadn’t heard otherwise. In fact, his spec ed teacher said the meds have helped a lot. I’m not sure what to do. I feel like I need to address the lack of communication with his primary teacher first then go from there. I do not want Isaac treated differently if I complain to the principal. I’m just confused. At conferences she confirmed that her and the spec ed teacher talk and the spec ed teacher emails me. But now I find out there still seems to be concerns

K seemed better this evening. Started coughing after bath time which makes me think it is all post nasal. 2 cases of croup are now in her rooms at daycare as well. Thanks everyone for the well wishes.

redandblue .. I'll be your Riverdale buddy if you need one!! #obsessed Yes!!! I'm on episode 9 right now. It's my guilty pleasure lately. I think having Luke Perry in it, it reminds me of BH 90210 days (probably before your time! Lol)...I think it's pretty good for a teen drama!

Flew to CT today to spend the week with my family. It was a long day but the kids have been amazing. They are such good travelers. I'm hoping maybe I'll get to sleep in tomorrow morning since they're still on central time!

I also have my kids chanting what we will do on Thanksgiving, or turkey day gobble gobble gobble.
"we are going to play, eat, play, eat, eat, eat, play, play, eat and then play and eat some more"
slip in a few "drinks" and I am all set.

I got back to the gym today, too. Technically only missed one day since I don't workout on the weekends but that one day makes a difference. I didn't try to push myself even though I am feeling pretty good. I'm not too fond of being able to feel the stitches in my gums. I keep thinking I have food stuck back there but it's just the stitch.
Gymnastics and storytime today. I may start wrapping some Christmas presents or at least take inventory of my wapping supplies.

So i watched the season finale last night of AHS and found it anticlimactic and kind of boring.

Guess I'm starting my holiday eating early. CW brought me in McDonald's for breakfast and then my boss brought me a red velvet muffin from Tim Hortons.
Other CW brought me in some dangerously delicious red sangria that he made.
