1. When will you start your lo on solids? Will you start with cereal? I'm hoping to start oatmeal or cereal at 4.5 months to help j with tummy issues and constipation. Then purees at 5.5 or 6 months but it'll depend on when he can sit with help.
2. Are you planning to make your own baby food? I am. My mom bought me a baby bullet. I'll do store bought too but I want to make some especially when I introduce foods
3.what will you feed them in? High chair, bumbo, etc? No clue. I'm asking because I want to put it on his Xmas list.
4. Has your baby rolled yet? Are they close? Not yet. When he is on his back he rolls to his side but nothing on the tummy yet.
5. Does your baby babble? He does and it's adorable. He lays on the ground and makes this one noise then I mimic him. He just started a new crazy sound too.
6. What's your favorite infant carrier? ( baby wearing) I like my Moby because it distributes the weight best but when we go out I use the infant infantano because he can face outwards which he likes.
7. How are you helping your baby learn to sit up? A few times a day I hold his hands and pull him up to sitting. Helping them to roll? Same deal. I try helping him roll when we do tummy tine. When he is on his back I lay on one side of him and he can roll to that side to see me.[/quote]

1. When will you start your lo on solids? Will you start with cereal? With DS we started around 5 months. I'm in no rush this time. We'll probably start with oatmeal again.
2. Are you planning to make your own baby food? Probably not. Bananas or other easily mashable foods I do myself but #lazy
3.what will you feed them in? High chair, bumbo, etc? We have a space saver high chair (just a seat that attaches to our regular chairs).
4. Has your baby rolled yet? Are they close? She rolls to her side from her back but that's it.
5. Does your baby babble? Yup! Adorable!
6. What's your favorite infant carrier? ( baby wearing) Ergo. I've put all the others away because I just don't love them
7. How are you helping your baby learn to sit up? Helping them to roll? I pull her to sitting when she's laying on her back. She loves the change in position. I'll sometimes prop her in the boppy too and she tries to sit up more. When she is over tummy time, I roll her back to her back, but that's all I do to encourage rolling at this point.

Great questions king26, Iāll be back to answer. One thing, the cereal and oatmeal can actually cause constipation, especially if J is already having trouble. Just food for thought, no pun intended š

It's time for more questions! 1. When will you start your lo on solids? Will you start with cereal? -most likely 6 months. Our pedi follows the recommended guidelines from AAP to a Tee. We will start with rice cereal and introduce fruit/veggies after. Each new fruit/veggie will be introduced 4-5 days apart. 2. Are you planning to make your own baby food? -Yes. I have the baby Breza and I love it. It steams and purƩes. I will buy some stuff also, it's impossible not too. I like Elle kitchen, plum, happy baby. 3.what will you feed them in? High chair, bumbo, etc? - High chair most likely. However, whatever I get to work will be what I go with. 4. Has your baby rolled yet? Are they close? -yes he started rolling 3 weeks ago, but it's hit or miss. He doesn't roll everyday. 5. Does your baby babble? -yes, he tries to mimic my sounds. It's a lot of gurs, oohs, ahhs. 6. What's your favorite infant carrier? ( baby wearing) -my favorite is my Ergo, it's so comfy and love the different positions. I use my ergo while out and about. I also like my K'tan. I use that carrier in the house. 7. How are you helping your baby learn to sit up? Helping them to roll? -tummy time and just sitting him up on my lap. I will prop him on the bobby pillow and he will try and bring his chest forward to sit. I figured the extra leverage helps. Other than that I'm not to sure. cwbh928 I tried the ergo with j for the first time today. It's super.comfortable for me but infeel like the seat is super wide. How do you know when baby is ready for that seat? It says 4 months without the infant insert but 12 pounds. J is 12 pounds but not quite 3 months yet. We don't have the insert...do you?

1. When will you start your lo on solids? Will you start with cereal? Probably around 6months like last time. Will start with oatmeal again.
2. Are you planning to make your own baby food? Some stuff but not everything. Iļø started off with a bang last time but then got lazy .
3.what will you feed them in? High chair, bumbo, etc? The space saver chair. Iļø love that thing. DD1 is 3 and still uses it!
4. Has your baby rolled yet? Are they close? Not yet, just to her side for now.
5. Does your baby babble? Yes a lot, itās super cute.
6. What's your favorite infant carrier? ( baby wearing) Iļø only have the Boba but love it! Iļø never liked the ring sling styles, they never felt comfortable.
7. How are you helping your baby learn to sit up? Helping them to roll? Putting them on the mat? Lol but this girl is strong, like literally almost pulls up herself and can stand and feel sturdy. Iļø definitely donāt let her put weight down yet on those little legs.

1. When will you start your lo on solids? Will you start with cereal? Around 6 months. We started DS at 6 months. We skipped cereal and went right to purees which is what weāll do this time too.
2. Are you planning to make your own baby food? Nah, I aināt got time for that šš
3.what will you feed them in? High chair, bumbo, etc? High chair
4. Has your baby rolled yet? Are they close? No but sheās very close. She looks like such a contortionist when she tries š
5. Does your baby babble? Yes, she just started within the last few days
ETA: babbling as in putting together a string of sounds repeatedly. Sheās been doing āooosā and āaaaahsā for a little while now
6. What's your favorite infant carrier? ( baby wearing) The baby KāTan (wrap) and the Lillebaby (carrier)
7. How are you helping your baby learn to sit up? Helping them to roll? Iāve been propping her up in a sitting position on me or on the Boppy. For rolling we move her arms since they keep getting in the way. Weāll gently nudge her too.

I haven't tried H in it with out the insert yet. He is 12.5lbs maybe more and almost 4 months. I still don't know how he will fit. The insert is nice, but I know I don't always get him in right. The insert is hard to position and I alway struggle to make sure he is comfy. I am heading out at the end of the week and might try it with out insert.

2. Are you planning to make your own baby food? Nope.
3.what will you feed them in? High chair, bumbo, etc? I used to just do the floor or high chair. I hate the bumbo.
4. Has your baby rolled yet? Are they close? Yes. She can do front to back.
5. Does your baby babble? She talks.
6. What's your favorite infant carrier? ( baby wearing) I donāt have one.
7. How are you helping your baby learn to sit up? Helping them to roll? Floor time. And, pulling her to a sitting position with her arms.

1. When will you start your lo on solids? Will you start with cereal?
ā will probably wait til 6mo. I think we will start with purĆ©es and probably vegetables.
2. Are you planning to make your own baby food?
ā I would like to try but I can see that lasting all of a week. We will see. Our schedules suck so badly idk what will happen.
3.what will you feed them in? High chair, bumbo, etc?
ā mmm some sort of high chair. Gotta look on lucies list and baby gear lab to see the best reviewed / cheapest options / space savers.
4. Has your baby rolled yet? Are they close?
ā yes!! From belly to back!! Several times! Makes me so excited haha. Front to back- he sort of gets sideways but then doesnāt move his leg so he just stalls out.
5. Does your baby babble?
ā yep. He can be a babbling machine sometimes, itās so cute. And other days he is just quiet as a mouse looking around š¤·š»āāļø
6. What's your favorite infant carrier? ( baby wearing)
ā we really only use the baby bjorn. I like it a lot, he likes it, we use it around the house occasionally but mostly to walk around outside in the real world. I have the moby and first few times he loved it, last few times he went apeshit in it so I donāt freakin know. I returned the kātan bc he just did not like it at all.
7. How are you helping your baby learn to sit up? Helping them to roll?
ā propping with the boppy, pulling up with arms, sitting him up, idk

1) 6 months or when he shows readiness. Not sure how it will go because of his prematurity. We do baby led weaning.
2) yes, but not purees.
3) high chair
4) belly to back a few times.
5) oh yes! He lives to try to talk to me when he's eating. It ends up being a bunch of drowning sounding gurgling. It's cute, he's so proud of himself.
6) I love my ring sling.
7) pulling him up. Sometimes I prop him with the boppy. He loves his sit me up and we play on the floor with Molly a lot. I sit him up between my legs and she thinks he can roll the ball with her. It's so funny because she has no idea I'm the one hitting the ball with his hands.

Question: for those of you that BF, how long does it take your baby to eat these days?
I know they become more efficient over time and a meal doesnāt take as long as it did when they were newborns, but Iām questioning whether he eats enough for a whole meal in the 5-8 minutes he eats at the breast. Then he falls asleep and no matter what I do, he wonāt wake up and take more. I just donāt know if heās like āoh thatās good enough, time to sleepā or if heās like āmmm Iām so full right now... time to sleep!ā

I love that with the ball rolling, nutmeg. I'll have to do that with my three year old. He gets all excited when the baby touches his arm or happens to touch a toy so that just might send him over the moon.

addymac Baby H has always nursed between 8-15 minutes for the most part. The lactation consultant right after he was born told me that wasn't long enough, but he seems to be growing fine and my pediatrician said it's normal for some babies.

1. When will you start your lo on solids? Will you start with cereal? When sheās ready- maybe 5/6 months.
2. Are you planning to make your own baby food? Ha, no. I tried with DS and failed. Now I know I definitely donāt have time to do it. I may do some purĆ©es but Iād like to just do BLW.
3.what will you feed them in? High chair, bumbo, etc? We have a Graco high chair.
4. Has your baby rolled yet? Are they close? No, and no I donāt think so.
5. Does your baby babble? She coos and is trying to do a little laugh.
6. What's your favorite infant carrier? ( baby wearing) I use my Boba 4G everyday. I have a new Lillebaby I need to adjust to fit, too. I hear people LOVE those.
7. How are you helping your baby learn to sit up? Helping them to roll? DD likes the Sit Me Up seat or just sitting in our lap to look around. For rolling, tummy time. They all figure this stuff out in their own time though.

addymac DD only nurses 5-10 minutes on one side per feeding. When Iāve pumped thatās about 4oz so I just assume thatās what sheās getting. I guess they are just efficient nursers!

Yay more questions!
1. When will you start your lo on solids? Will you start with cereal? 6 months unless pediatrician says something different. I haven't decided. I started DS1 on avocado as his first food bc I was trying to be super healthy and he still hates it and gets little red spots when he eats it. Despite my trying to be all healthy, his favorite foods are pizza and Mac and cheese!! š Maybe I'll start ds2 on sweet potato or something.
2. Are you planning to make your own baby food? Only the easy stuff like sweet potato. I nearly killed myself with DS1 staying up late and cutting baked chicken into tiny pieces and he is a terrible eater. I'm not saying I'm not going to try to feed them healthy, it's just last time I was crazy stressed about it, and this time I'm trying to go with the flow.
3.what will you feed them in? High chair, bumbo, etc? Love Fisher Price space saver high chair. It's also easy to clean.
4. Has your baby rolled yet? Are they close? Not really. He flipped to his back once from his belly but dh said not to count it bc he was on an angle when I set him down.
5. Does your baby babble? Yes!! Love it, and we'll have a conversation back and forth. I just love it when he squeaks if he's excited.
6. What's your favorite infant carrier? ( baby wearing) Ktan. Ergo when he's a little bigger
7. How are you helping your baby learn to sit up? Helping them to roll I pull him up by his arms and sit him on my tummy. I also prop him between two couch cushions, which he loves and coos!

Quick tummy time question. When do you do tummy time?? We have been slacking on tummy time I feel and I want to incorporate it into the day more often. And I am curious when you do tummy time. Once a day for longer or several times but just a few minutes a time? Is there a max a day or should I just go by what baby seems to like and enjoy?
Will come back for the actual Qs in this thread later!

Yeah D is holding her head just fine as well - which i guess is why we are slacking .. cause she already has such great head muscles and control and we forget about tummy time. She also used to dislike it. But she s fine with it now actually seems to like it. She looks side to side while on her tum tho seems to prefer looking to one side? But will turn her head if I rattle with a toy so.. Guess doing it soon after eating just earlier wasnt the best idea tho cause it made her puke oops!

Then if he eats when he wakes up and is up over 1.5 hours we try to do it again. He will also puke if we do it within an hour of eating.
