I feel like this baby is always stretching its legs straight out into my left side now that it’s head down. Not cool.
Anyone accomplish things from their lists this weekend? We nearly got DD’s room done then Dh got sick.....
I’m very much over Work. 3 weeks and counting!!

We had our house professionally cleaned, got the storage room/guestroom ready for my parents, got the chair for the baby's room (it's not grey, it's brown and it bugs me, but oh well). MH cooked up some soup, I Made pumpkin bread, we bought our Thanksgiving turkey, and saw Thor. So all in all it was pretty productive weekend.
I just misjudged the size of my belly and bashed the side of it into the car door. Ouch.

I really want to make it to a December birth day - but man oh man, am I done! I feel like I've gotten super huge and heavy in the past week. My maternity pants are so uncomfortable but I refuse to buy more, so I'm working leggings the best I can but feel like a slob. The snoring is off the charts.
On the plus side, I am cleared to work from home 3 days a week. I bought some holiday gifts online today, and our freezer meals are adding up! So far I've cooked and frozen:
Chicken enchiladas Hungarian goulash Carrot cake loaf Chicken and dumplings Chorizo empanadas Fruit and nut granola bars

I did like 5 loads of laundry on Saturday while H was at work. Baby clothes, burp cloths, swaddle blankets, plus the new mattress cover and sheets for the pullout we got since the guest room is now the baby's room. I got my "office"/new guest room cleaned out for Mom to come for my sono on Wednesday. Mentally I know what's going in my hospital bag but it's not packed yet because I'm waiting for new bras/undies from Kindred. I did treat myself to a new robe, though - a waffle knit since my current robe is pretty bulky (my mom got for me for getting ready wedding morning 5 years ago, so it says "Bride" on the back... figured it was time for a new one.)
Still haven't made pumpkin bread (I just want to make some, no particular reason), done thank you notes, or started planning freezer meals. Hopefully this weekend/after Thanksgiving. Nothing like cutting it close, lol.

My goal is thanksgiving weekend to pull out all the storage stuff like NB clothes, bassinet, pnp, etc. And make freezer meals. I’m going to hold off until dec to make my lactation muffins in preparation. I will probably pull together a bag list this week but hold off on packing until later. I can’t believe I’m like 3 weeks out.
Typo I’m really getting over it too. I keep reminding myself that I’m only 35 weeks though. With a date, it’s easy to slip into thinking that I’m further than I really am.

We put up our Christmas tree. I’m working on getting my replacement ready and getting a home office set up together so hopefully starting next week I can WFH.
Our nursery is “done” except for the things I still need to buy. I might go to BRU Saturday and pick some of it up, but really I’m ok with waiting on the baby for curtains and the changing pad cover so I can maybe get something less neutral.
Our bags are 80% packed.
This weekend is pie weekend so H and I will be making like 10 pumpkin pies with MIL. They are still trying to figure out Thanksgiving plans.

Bassinest is assembled. I then promptly had a crying meltdown wondering how I'm going to handle a newborn.
Newborn clothes have been washed and are in the dryer waiting to be folded.
We still need to check car seat installation in our car (which we didn't own when L was in the bucket seat), get changing tables (since our only changing station is on top of L's dresser, which isn't going to be helpful downstairs or MOTN), and get the extra kid attachments for our stroller. And I need to pack a hospital bag. I've decided I'm not packing a bag for L; she wants to stay at our house and hopefully my mom just accommodates that as it would be easier for me/L.
I have so much work to get done in the few days I have left I want to cry. I still haven't decided to go out the Fri or the Mon before my RCS. Part of me thinks I should do Fri so we can have four full days as a family of three. The other part of me thinks Monday so I have more distractions from surgery and the upcoming changes. Either way, when we factor in Thanksgiving, I think I might be close to single digit work days.

My RCS is really early on a Wed, and I only took one day off before my last, but I figured WTF am I really going to accomplish on a single Monday work day? So my last day of work is the 1st, Friday. My body is so much more achy that I’m taking those two days to myself to treat myself to a massage and a pedi and to try to nap since DD will still go to dc. And to enjoy our last days as a family of 3, so my evenings with her and DH are relaxing.

This pregnancy insomnia can F right off. I woke at 3:15 and couldn’t fall back asleep at all. Today is going to suck until I get to go home and snuggle my birthday girl!

I probably wouldn't accomplish that much, though I'm sure it would be helpful for my colleagues to have that extra time to review my cases. It's more I don't want to "lose" that day on the backend of my leave - every day I come in now is one more day I have at home later... slightly greedy since I have really good leave, but I know I will want every last drop.

I totally understand. I could get 4 weeks off partially paid from the state before, but since that would count against my total time through Work, I’m working nearly up until the end. I’m just giving myself a tiny bit more this time around.

I guess that’s im the weirdo who is only taking 8 weeks, but then I’m WFH for 2 months so it should hopefully feel like a lot more. If we make it to term and I have a vaginal birth I’ll come back with two weeks vacation still to use. I cannot go the rest of the year without time off.

rooskie - I'm with you on keeping some vaca. I could borrow up to four weeks from next year, but I'm not going to add more than one I think because there's no way I can work 9 months without a vacation, especially with two family weddings, one of which is cross-country.

Not weird rooskie - I am only taking 6 weeks. I took 12 with my first, 8 with my second and then 6 this time lol. So we got our induction date yesterday - November 30th!!! That's if the baby does not come before.

I make sure to save 80 hours of AL, b/c between appointments, travel and what not. I don't want to start off in the hole. It means I take more time unpaid, but I appreciate it later.

I'd rather have a couple of days to finish getting things done, get everything finalized for Christmas, and have a little more time as a family of 3 before we become a family of 4.

He keeps saying that cleaning is cathartic for him, but then freaking out b/c he has no time to clean. I pointed out there will be plenty to do in between deep cleans. Laundry, dishes, vacuuming, picking up after the kid.....after how long it took them and the big difference, I'm so glad I pushed. I've been pushing since DD was born two years ago, so don't lose hope!

But I am definitely more of a surface cleaner. He's the one who gets on his hands and knees and washes baseboards. But then my husband complains about how much stuff there is to be done all the time around the house. I'm like yeah, kiss any extra time goodbye once we add kid number 2!!

I would love a housekeeper, but MH refuses. I suggested we hire someone to do a deep clean before baby gets here and he said he would do it himself. He's been working hard on it, but there's still so much to do.

If we had the extra money I would totally get our house deep cleaned. I’ll add that to my Christmas list....
I’m seriously about to go through my emails and make a list of free photo codes by company with expiration dates. I feel like I get so many of them each week. Maybe I’ll be able to do Christmas cards for really cheap....

I have exactly one more week of work to go. I'm suppose to get my RCS date at my appointment tomorrow. I bought a bassinet, bundle me, and boppy this weekend and the baby has 9 outfits now. Poor baby number 4 has so much less than baby 1 did.

Window project finally done!! Last window installed and the child lock on DD’s window. Nothing like cramming a bunch of house projects right until the end! T minus 3 weeks and I’ve got a newborn!
I’m going to propose a house cleaner come after thanksgiving to dh. We’ve done it a few times in the past, not on a monthly basis but a deep clean so I don’t anticipate push back. Especially after having so many contractors trek through our house. Someone dust everything for me, please?!
