So you know how people put cinnamon on their coffee(to hide bitterness??). DH "thought it was a good idea at the time" to try pumpkin pie spice. And of course he dumped too much. Omg with the cloves in coffee. 😮

An early morning for me here. Hello coffee! Busy work week ahead, but I have all of next week off and I can't wait! DD2 turns 2 on Friday. She will no longer be a baby, but a toddler. I'm a little sad about it. 😢 She's had a lot of health issues since very early on, but is doing well overall right now. So, I am grateful that she is growing and thriving and that in and of itself is something to celebrate.

Good luck at the anatomy scan alwayscheese! I still haven't gotten the actual report from my AS last Monday. I'm annoyed.

Honestly the coolest part was a full frontal view of all four chambers of the heart, beating perfectly. 💓 I'm assuming everything was healthy since the tech didn't say anything, but we're waiting to see the midwife yet.

cornpop I'd be annoyed also! Did you not see the OB/midwife right after?

cornpop that happened to me last time...i don't think i had my appointment after my scan for like 2 weeks. no one told me that i wouldn't hear from the doctor until my next actual appointment. fwiw, i got a call the same day as the scan because of the soft marker they found. the nurse was like "don't google anything, it's probably nothing" and then offered to refer me to a genetics counselor. i'm guessing at this point no news is good news for you.

alwayscheese, yay for little boys and healthy hearts! I'm back at my desk thinking about everything I have to do in the next two weeks. It is going to be busy but that's OK. Days go more quickly when they are full. We went camping in Maine this past weekend and it was exactly what I needed. Three days with just H and DS, fresh air, unplugged. We stayed in a yurt (had to hike in to it) so despite temps in the single digits we were toasty warm with our wood stove. Even though I know it would be suicide to do this over the holidays, I'm kind of thinking about booking another weekend in December to go back. I can just hide from the real world in the woods, right?

DD woke up later than usual today and now is almost falling asleep in her cereal. I wish we would have slept in even longer. I am so stinking tired still. I have had no 2nd trimester energy boost this time.

I ended up falling asleep on the couch last night. My back really hurts this morning as a result. Oh well, at least the only thing we have planned today is DD's speech class at the school.

I took 6 bins of DD's baby clothes to OUAC this weekend and got $472 back! I think I'll just use it to decorate the new nursery, and maybe splurge on a DockATot🙌🏻

I'm at work.
BOO.
But next week is my birthday AND Thanksgiving, so I can deal. Plus my boss is bringing in brownies this afternoon to celebrate my 10 year anniversary here... so it's not all that bad.
Anyone shopping the day after thanksgiving ads yet? Anything good?

cornpop I'd be annoyed also! Did you not see the OB/midwife right after? I had to go back to the ultrasound tech after seeing the midwife because they didn't get all of the measurements. When I saw the midwife she didn't have the report. I'm just annoyed because last pregnancy they were so good about getting the reports back within a few days and this pregnancy they're not at all. I called on Friday to ask when I could expect it but they said the midwife wasn't in on Friday so hopefully Monday. I'd think she'd make sure to get all of the reports done before leaving for the weekend! polson I'm trying to tell myself you're right and that no news is good news. I honestly wouldn't be concerned except I noticed when she was doing the brain measurements that for cerebellum and something else she selected another abbreviation instead of just selecting Normal. At the time I was so focused on the fact that the baby wasn't really moving that I didn't say anything but now I'm overthinking it. But I'm sure it's nothing.

Ok I finally got the report and everything is fine! The baby is measuring a little small except her legs so another tall baby it seems!

alwayscheese, I am glad the anatomy scan went well! cornpop, I would be annoyed too. I can't remember how long it took to get the report back with DS, but with this one I got the report back right after the scan since it was done at MFM. I have not motivation to work today. I saw my lab results from the 3-hour glucose test I did on Saturday and know I did not pass. I had it with DS so I shouldn't be surprised. I hope I stay diet controlled like I was with DS. I am just annoyed that I have to deal with it with all the holidays and birthdays coming up, I didn't have to deal with those when I had it last time. At least I know I will feel really healthy when I am done with this pregnancy.

Our fridge isn’t working so when MH gets home I’m going to fidget and try and fix it. DNW to pay the repair man who’s scheduled for Wednesday.

Tonight is our last Bradley class. As helpful as it’s been, I will be so glad to get my Monday nights back.
I signed up for a meal train for a friend with a newborn. I was thinking of making some homemade chicken noodle soup, but I can’t think of anything that would go well with it that would keep well on the drive over and warm up well. I always like grilled cheese with my soup, but warmed up grilled cheese doesn’t sound appetizing. Any recommendations?

I would get some fresh baguette or Italian bread and some good butter to go with it. And/or a green salad. Nice comfort food
