Last night at bed time, after finishing a book, LO hopped down off of daddy's lap, ran over to me, said "kiss for mama," and gave me a big kiss. Melts my heart.

I got lots of squishy baby snuggles while visiting my SIL. Came home and made spaghetti and now H is watching the first star wars family guy episode. S is getting judgy about the liberties they took with the original story, and M is right into it, yelling "Oh no!" And "whoa!" All the time lol

I had every intention of getting the majority of my Christmas presents taken care of before the big shopping craziness starts...but here we are.
I’m making a list of everything to go in the dds’ stockings and under the tree this year and I’m seriously struggling with gift ideas for dd2.
Anyone have any brilliant new ideas????

nellieoleson I have zero ideas for what to get M. Maybe another tutu? She has 2, but she really likes them. My parents are probably making her a ballet Barre. I have less ideas for stocking. She loves hair stuff and girlie things, but she's obviously too young for make up, and she doesn't have enough hair for ponytails and stuff. This is such an awkward age to buy For, I remember struggling with what to get S for a couple of years around this age.

lollipop I have no ideas. I have nothing for dd3. We literally have all the things. Maybe swim lessons? Or a class you could do with her while S is in school?

Dh came home early and went straight to bed. He messed up his back, he’s exhausted and we leave for vacation tomorrow. I’ve done EVERYTHING to get ready. I’m waiting on the dishwasher and washing machine and then I’m done. I was hoping to go out to eat tonight but he didn’t even say hello. I’m kind of wtf dude about it. I’m tired too. So now I’m in jammies and I had a half a bowl of potato soup for dinner. Seriously irritated and not sure what I want to do about it. Takeout alone just isnt the same.

I think things like that are going to be out until I get a job. We try to stick to the 4 gift rule, plus something from Santa and stockings. We bought S a box with 900 Lego pieces in it from Santa today. It was on sale for $25. I think this is officially the earliest we've ever bought a Christmas present lol

lollipop she’ll need hair bows by next Christmas and she’ll enjoy opening them now. I’d give her some anyway We’re exciting over here and they get things they need. Socks are coming their way. Along with New bike helmets and coloring / activity /story books. Dd1 has declared a love for the game LCR and the dollar store has it. Easy peasy kid. What about a my little pony for M? My girls bought some at a garage sale and all love them, but target has little ones for pretty cheap. Perhaps bedding if she’s getting a bed soon? I requested flannel sheets for dd3 since we have cotton, but everyone has their own flannels except her. A swim suit for next summer? I’m babbling at this point

We don't have target, but Wal-Mart has My Little Ponies. She'll for sure get an outfit and pjs, a book or two, a toy, and something she needs, same for S, plus something from Santa. But I just can't figure out what she needs or what toy to get her. S is easier, he needs a new snowsuit (I just noticed his was getting too small) and Lego or anything superhero related is a win with him. She needs a bed, but I don't quite trust her to be in her room uncontained. Christmas was so much more fun when I didn't have to come up with presents for everyone.

Consumables are always good: play doh, crayons, colored pencils, coloring books, washable paints, clay, etc.
For the toddlers I like the paint with water books.

Guys we made it to our vacation condo. It’s smaller than what we had last year, same amenities, just less space. Space is kind of a big deal around here. My kids are acting like spoiled brats too and it’s making me insane. I need dh to get better and assist. I cannot handle “I’m bored” “there’s nothing to do” much longer. I am not a one woman circus! Here’s to a good night sleep and a solid reset tomorrow.

I just ordered these as a gift - don’t know which kid is getting them yet, and ultimately they will share. I have heard awesome things, though, and I’m excited to try them out! www.amazon.com/Pencil-Grip-Kwikstix-Metallix-TPG-604/dp/B01GNAVT0U

dizzycooks, that is always my fear with "vacations" with the LOs - they don't feel like vacations to me. I hope everyone gets a good night's sleep and tomorrow goes better, and that your DH gets his act together and helps out. Things here are super stressful. I was supposed to teach a class on Fri night / all day Saturday, but I knew it hadn't yet met the minimum number of participants, so on Wed I called to see whether it would run or not. My boss was sick, and they said she had to make the decision, but that it didn't have the minimum #, so... Ok, I then agreed to do a freelance project, and the next day found out that my boss decided to let the class run with fewer than the minimum number and just shorten the course instead (so they have to pay me less). But with fewer people, I actually have to prepare more since we get through the material faster. That means more prep, less pay, and they didn't even bother to ask me first whether I was ok with it. I was kind of annoyed. Anyway, so now I've got to struggle to get the freelance project done because of the class. And we have evening things going on almost every day this week, which always stresses me out. /vent

Eek crimsonandclover good luck! dizzycooks I hope you had a good day today! I was traveling this weekend. I think things may be slowing down a bit. Unfortunately and employee just moved to another state so I am down staff but at least things have slowed slightly. In baby news L is always packing a bag. It cracks me up. Where are you going kid? 😂 ready to move out already? Also daycare being off starting weds is really cramping my style. And I hate deer hunting season. I don't mind the shootings of deer for food. But I find hubs being gone on family day sadfrustratingsadobnoxious

Re Christmas, I bit the bullet and got an anywhere chair for LO. They were having a one day sale last week and I bought the cheapest color. That's how I'm justifying it. For smaller stuff we also like practical stuff - new utensils, toddler towel, PJs. He will also get some books and probably a paint with water book. He just got a paint with water mat in a cricket crate and really liked it. Actually, a subscription to cricket crate or koala crate for the older ones could be a fun gift. dizzycooks, I hope you had a nice vacation and that you got some time to relax!

I think we might sign M up for dance class for Christmas. There's a studio here that has 3 months for less than $150. The trouble is, we would have to do something similar for S, and I'm having trouble finding anything.
I'm so tired. I had lofty goals of getting back on track with my daily routine, but M decided 4 a.m. was party time, so I can hardly function right now. I will get back on track tomorrow

You could find a different class, maybe an activity right after school AT school to save you the driving headache or maybe a magazine subscription that comes monthly for S. We are having a better time now that everyone has settled, but they are tired and naps have been rough. There are downsides to not being home for sure. crimsonandclover that sounds awful. I can’t believe that’s ok for the. To decide for you. I hope you got caught up ok.

dizzycooks I was thinking of martial arts of some sort for him. I just have to find something that fits our schedule and budget.
