Any VA people who aren't in NOVA? You don't have to say where, just curious. I'm Richmond for a short time more. Been here 7 years. Grew up at the Beach.

I can't help but wonder if Northam is too tied into the "establishment", having worked under McAuliffe that it'll feel like an ascension - and if it may keep some people (moderates, independents, Rs) from voting for him in the general. I have similar concerns about Perriello being "too lefty" for centrist Virginians, of which there are many. I worry that Perriello is too liberal and the moderates won't turn up for him. I worry that Northam won't excite the Progressives so they won't turn up for him. TBH I'm more worried about choosing the candidate that can beat Gillespie than I am about the candidate who best suits my personal beliefs. This is exactly where I'm at. I don't necessarily buy into the Bernie would have won narrative. Virginia is tricky these days. Ed Gillespie is the ultimate insider and I think looking at what happened to Eric Cantor, he might not do that well with the right wing fringe in the state which could help.

Well I met Dr Northam tonight and he RT me so now I'm definitely voting for him lop I am swayed by the idea of a medical doctor in the gov mansion. A pediatric neurologist changed my life once before. Howard Dean was a great governor when I lived in Vermont and his first priority was medical coverage for all children in the state so I think we could do worse in Virginia for sure.

As a physician, I'm kinda in love with Dr. Northam. I'm ambivalent to Perriello. If he wins the primary, I'll back him 100%. But I'm rooting for Northam.

Also, I love that we have so many Virginians on this board. We really should do a VA/DC GTG.

Ok, I'm fine with either one but I think I've decided I'm voting for Northam.

Also team fine with either one, but as I said previously, I voted for Periello back when he ran for Congress. I was so excited for him. He is an idea man, and as a Gemini, I love ideas. So I will probably vote for him again, but I am doubtful he can carry the state.

I'm planning to go on my way home from work. Still undecided. Same. I'm leaning N now, but could be P by the time I vote. Who knows!

I voted on the way to work. I recently moved to a pretty rural area and am pretty sure I may be the only democrat voting at this particular voting place. My vote counts!
Edit: say vote one more time.

We're going after DS's WCC this afternoon. I'm interested to see what happens but I really won't be upset either way with Northam or Perriello. I'll be a little disappointed if Fairfax doesn't win.
ETA I'm also interested to see what the turn out is like.

Making a pit stop to vote before dinner with a friend. I'm hoping the lines aren't too long at 4:30. I think I should be okay?

DS's school is a polling place, but unfortunately not MY polling place. We will be voting as a family tonight.

We voted! K thought it was the coolest thing. But she was equally impressed by the school's basketball hoops.

My area switched to paper ballots in 2016. Makes voting with a toddler rather difficult.

We are making it a family activity after dinner tonight. FX the lines aren't insane. My polling place was eerily quiet. I was actually kind of upset about it. I was thrilled to not have to queue with all of my kids in tow, but I fear that low turnout in the primary signals lack of engagement
