mattsgirl2004, I don't think it's more valuable but it is older. I don't think it's necessarily a hard fix, but my cousin used to be a jeweler so I would take it to him because I trusted him. Now he's stopped doing it so I just don't know who to take it to. I basically told my H to deal with it because I'm so upset about it.

I hope your DH is able to find a good jeweler to fix it correctly (and carefully!) so that you can wear it again.

What is an au pair? I've never heard of it. I'm a sahm so I'm not looking for childcare, but I'm curious. An au pair is like a live-in nanny, it is an exchange program for foreigners. You give them room & board, a small weekly stipend, and they provide full time childcare. They have to have verified childcare experience and you interview them just like you would a nanny. We couldn’t afford daycare for two in my area, and a nanny was even more expensive, but we have a guest room so we got an au pair. Saves us about $1,000 a month compared to daycare. I did not realize it was a foreign exchange program. The thing I always wonder is when they get to have a life. Not directed at you, just that it seems more involving than a other jobs. Do they sign a contract for a certain length of time?

so glad all the scans went well - i love seeing the us pics! i feel like we are overwhelmingly team blue (for those of us that know anyways)! Right!? I'll kinda hoping for a boy so I keep feeling like this means I'll have a girl to balance it out lol ETA I see Leaf 🌱 has the same idea in the other thread 😁

Do they sign a contract for a certain length of time? It’s really the same as a regular nanny. You set the schedule but with an infant most people do something like 8-5 Monday-Friday and they have nights and weekends off. They quickly find friends, local or other au pairs (any metropolitan city will have lots and they find each other on Facebook groups). Ours are usually gone on the weekend hanging out with friends or taking little trips to see other parts of the country. ETA - it’s a one year contract, can renew for a 2nd if both parties want.

Any recs for a good maternity winter jacket? I mentioned it before, but I use the “makemybellyfit” extender. It zips right into your existing coat.

DD was just sick in the car. I think that's about the worst possible place to get sick...it's a pita to take the carseat apart to clean it. I guess we're taking another trip to the dr to try to get this sinus infection cleared up.

I don't care how much of a stereotype it makes me, I just drooled my way through Chip and Joanna's new line of home goodies at Target. I have my whole Christmas list because Joanna is my style spirit animal. Also, I'm obsessing over the wooden tool bench and gorgeous dollhouse they have for kids. The tool bench may have to go on DS's Christmas list, even though I don't know that we have room for it.

H took the kids through the Christmas aisles and left me to Chip & Jojo. Totally worth it.

DS had a rough day today. He peed on the babysitter’s floor which he never does and he started asking for me I. The afternoon. He is now sleeping on the couch. I am thinking it might be linked to the nightmare he had last night. He seems to have a lot of nightmares as he frequently wakes up crying/ screaming in the middle of the night. Last night he was up for an hour after the one he had. We have also been dealing with separation anxiety. He knows the baby is coming soon and and I am wondering if that might have something to do with it.
On another note, at my OB appointment today we schedule appointments all the way to the end of February. It seems like time is going to start flying by now.

UO: the only things i really liked from the H&H line were the doll house and the toy work bench. Some things were weirdly expensive and the pillows were made from cheap material. It was very underwhelming...
I’m having deja vu. Did i post that before?

woodenshoes Aww, I hope your son has a better day tomorrow. Sorry that I don't really have any advice on the nightmares or separation anxiety, but I hope they get better soon.

How old is he woodenshoes? Dd went through a nightmare phase a month or two ago and it was horrible. A few weeks ago she was terrified to sleep in her room. Everything scared her, shadows, her owl decal, her nightlight. I brought it up at her 3 yo check up and her pedi said it was normal at this age for them to be getting scared a lot. It has gotten better the past two weeks. But she is still super attached me and only wants me for things not Mh. Poor guy. It's sad seeing them so scared. I hope it's just a phase and the nightmares stop.

Serious baby brain. We went to visit friends and their newborn at the hospital. I parked in the garage and made a mental note to remember which level I parked on. After we’re done, I get in my car and am driving out of the garage, when I remember that I needed to remember which level I parked on. Except I couldn’t remember which level and I legit got anxious and teary. AND I WAS ALREADY IN MY CAR. Come on brain, you’re better than that.

This is definitely random- in case anyone has a little girl to buy for for Christmas, I just scored a Little People Princess Castle and a set of Little People Princesses for $28 from target. The castle is on sale for $34.99 and the princesses were free with castle purchase. I used the 25% off toy coupon and my red card discount to bring it down to $27.74🙌🏻 Here's what it looks like-

Thanks ladies. I originally had it scheduled in the morning but moved it to the afternoon so I didn't have to come back to work after. Of course now I regret doing that.

I basically suck at keeping up with this board. I’m sorry I had my 16 week (17 weeks really) check up today and it went well. No explanation for why I hurt so much all.the.time. Other than I’m doing too much. Ha. Overwhelmed with life so I tossed a freezer meal in my crock pot. I can’t decide if I’m loving the smells or if it’s making me sick.

Thanks for all the love ladies. Everything went good and baby looks great. And we are having a girl! Dd is going to be so excited when she finds out. This baby is super active so it took a while to get everything but we got a great profile shot and I love this little foot picture.
