I saw this at Hobby Lobby and decided to make one myself. I’ll cross stitch the lettering. I also got a few things for some porch decor. I want to make one of those tall wooden welcome signs too but that would require actual work. I’m still thinking on it.

I have a whole bunch of old embroidery hoops currently sitting unused.

I have two Christmas gifts to finish. Neither is even close.
I also want a fall wreath to hang on my mantle and haven't seen one I like yet, so there is a good chance I'm making one.

I'm starting on a new plushie pattern, this one is a little dinosaur. And I bought a pattern on Etsy for a chubby dragon. If anyone is interested in sewing plush toys, www.cholyknight.com has a ton of adorable free patterns that aren't crazy complicated and really good thorough instructions and tutorials.

Hi! I'm just jumping in here I've put together a big list for holiday sewing for gifts - two baby quilts - three Noodlehead super totes - two pillow covers and I'm trying to teach myself to sew my own clothes. I've done a couple of tops but next I have my eye on a Blazer - I'm thinking the Morris blazer: grainlinestudio.com/shop/women/morris-blazer-pdf/

We are redoing our office/craft studio! I’m so excited! I have made a few things for LO’s room lately and have a few more things I want to do (mostly pillows, we got her one of those big tents). Once the office is finished I need to shift gears and start making things for baby number 2!

I'm trying to make invitations for ds's birthday but our computer is so old and slow. I keep getting frustrated and walking away.
I want to make some ornaments and kitchen towels for gifts this year. I need to grey started soon.

Finished with a baby gift yesterday so now I'm working on a project for me. Paint chip calendar. Still need to get the edges measured and glue everything down. Then get it framed.

I need to start thinking about Christmas. I need to figure out what to do for Christmas cards. I also need to think about gifting in case I need to make anything. Now that we have a new house, I also need to figure out how our current Christmas decor fits in and what gaps need filling. So far, I know our new fireplace is a very different style than our old one, so I'll need something different there, and I also want to do something for the front door.

I finished DS's invitations today. He always talks about being a DJ when he gets older. I made the invites look like records. Sorry no pic, i don't really know how to do that without Tapa

I finished my cables blanket last month! I’m trying to not do anything too involved this month with the baby due soon, so I’m just making little knitted hats with scrap yarn. Whatever I don’t keep I’ll probably donate to the hospital.

So I asked my husband yesterday if I could have my Christmas present early since I knew he already had the sewing machine I'd asked for, and he said he had been waiting for me to ask. I watched some tutorial videos and managed to get it threaded and started practicing sewing some straight lines. I have soooo many projects I want to do! First one is a tote bag, I got a bunch of fabric to use to practice, and it's all straight lines so I'm hoping it won't be too hard.

I am planning on asking a sewing machine for my birthday late January. I have aome fabric leftover from our new bedroom curtains that I want pillowcases for on the bed with. Am sad I have to wait so long still - maybe I could ask for it early as well... I never even thought of that haha doh. 😊

Mine is a Brother CS6000i, I really like it so far, although I’ve only made a couple of tote bags with it.

I would if I could! 🙂 But I am in Europe so no Thanksgiving here and no Black Friday sales following booo. But with the holidays coming up no doubt we will be able to find a good sale somewhere, hopefully!

I finished a small crochet blanket that I started when I was out on maternity leave. The "baby" is in preschool, so it was past time! I'll have to take pictures. I wanted to get it off the hook since my mom requested a new scarf for Christmas. I'm making pretty good progress on that; it's a collaborative project, DS helped me pick the yarn and stands at my elbow asking if it's done yet.

I made felt stockings from a kit for all of us over the last few years (mine in 2010, DH's in 2012, Ava's last year and I have one for Faith) but the felt stretched so much that I was always nervous to put anything in them on Christmas Eve. This year I decided to make my own template (copied a stocking on the copier at 125%) got coordinating cotton fabric and then machine appliqued the front of the stocking to the cotton and sewed everything together. The first one took forever to figure out but the other two went much faster and I finished up today. I need to start working on Faith's now, her felt front needs done and that will probably take a few days.

Dramaphile and aprilz81 I absolutely love both your creations! I can't wait to try my hand on sewing some time soon. Though likely won't be able to make anything like this anytime soon hah. But you inspire me! This whole thread and similar does tbh!

But you inspire me! This whole thread and similar does tbh! I've had a sewing machine for two weeks, it's not too hard! Tote bags are just straight lines. I second the video tutorials, I did a free beginner sewing course online with Melly Sews (you sign up and get emailed lessons every few days) and it was really helpful in getting started. Craftsy also has some great tutorials and patterns, some free and some for purchase.
