I'm generally skeptical of the Disney remakes but this cast is pretty amazeballs. I loooove that James Earl Jones is still Mufasa.
And John Oliver as Zazu has me laughing.

Is this going to be ...live action?

Is this going to be ...live action? CGI I think. Like The Jungle Book that came out last year. We watched that this past weekend, and it was pretty good. Hmm. Okay.

Glad James Earl Jones is still Mufasa but I’m side eyeing Beyoncé ( sorry to the fans) After hearing she turned down a role in Beauty and the Beast because it was “too small” (and also refusing to audition for princess and the frog because she thought she deserved it outright) I would have passed on her for sure.

The casting is crazy good. I'm skeptical about all the CGI stuff and I didn't see The Jungle Book remake. But this has the potential to be good.

I agree with this completely. The rest of the cast has me pretty excited. There are very few Disney movies I won't see. I'm also excited for the live action Aladdin.

I'm now wondering what role she turned down? If it was the armoire (Audra McDonald played it) then I'm glad she did. Audra's operatic voice was much better suited for it.

Lion King is my favourite. I’m not down with a remake, but the casting is at least decent.

I surprisingly enjoyed The Jungle Book, so I'm hoping that I'll enjoy this one, too.

Okay. But the adult role of Nala is pretty limited too. I’ve watched a loooot of Lion King in the last few weeks because I found my old DVD and the kids were so excited about a movie Lion Guard!!1! So, unless they are adding extra stuff, it’s still a small role.

I think this casting is spot on. Agreed. I wouldn't change a thing and I'm really excited.

We've been watching a lot of Lion King lately and it has crossed my mind that they will probably increase and improve the female roles for the remake.

It’s funny because when you think about how the roles are split up with young and old Simba and Nala, Zazu and Scar are kind of the biggest roles lol

I love the cast! I really enjoyed live action Maleficent and Beauty and the Beast, so I have faith that Disney will do this well.

We've watched Lion King a lot since I took DD to see it when it came to Houston earlier this year. She is going to be so excited to this!

I'm very ho-hum about this.
I feel like I did when the Les Miserables remake came out: let's stop making remakes for the sake of remakes.
Maybe they'll surprise me.

I've really enjoyed all the live action remakes Disney has made recently, but I wasn't too sure about this one prior to seeing The Jungle Book earlier this year. TJB was visually beautiful and they stayed a little truer to the book. Now, seeing the cast? I'm really excited for this.

Minus Beyoncé, I think the cast looks great. I'm not a huge fan of remakes but it could be cool.

THe we weird thing to me for a live action LK is that there are no people. Jungle book and BatB had people so it was a little different.

If it was live action it would be with people and would be like watching the Broadway production. I think the whole cast looks great. But I've seen it a ton and the Broadway show multiple times so I may be a little biased.

The Jungle Book and The Lion King are not "live action," y'all. The only person in TJB was the little boy, and the rest was CGI. Just like this will be. I think people are talking generally about the remakes happening of the animated movies from the 90s when saying "live action." I could be wrong, though.

I love Donald Glover. I love John Oliver as Zazu. That makes me laugh even harder than Seth Rogen as Pumba and Billy Eichner as Timon. And Eric Andre as one of the hyenas is amazing.
Basically, I am hype AF for this movie.

I love the Lion King. It is my fav disney movie.
That being said, I never watched the remake of Beauty and the Beast, and I probably won't watch this one either.. I sort of like them how they are, you know?

I love this and I know my kid is going to love this. When he discovered The Jungle Book it was the only thing he’d ask for. Obsessed doesn’t begin to describe it.
