So, my doctor said my bleeding should stop by 2 weeks pp, and while it did for a few days, I'm now back to having kind of heavy dark red bleeding each day. I'm 16 days pp today. It kind of comes in little gushes - TMI. All my internet research says the bleeding should be light pink or even stopped by now, so I'm wondering if this is something I should be concerned about.
I don't have dizziness or anything related to dangerous blood loss issues...it's just more annoying that I'm still going through like 3-4 pads a day. I wonder if it's due to that huge SCH I had during my pregnancy.
I have an appointment with my doctor at 4 weeks pp, and I definitely plan to bring it up with him if the bleeding hasn't stopped by then. In the meanwhile - anyone else in a similar situation?

That seems normal to me. I was told bleeding should stop by 6 weeks PP. I'm almost 5 weeks PP and I was only able to move to panty liners a few days ago. I'm pretty sure this is consistent with last time as well. I'd say everyone's experience will vary to some degree though. If you're concerned, a phone call to your Dr/nurse can't hurt.

I'm the same. Still bleeding. Most days I can get away with a light pad (almost pantyliner) but will sometimes need something heavier. Bleeding is still dark red as well.

If PP bleeding is supposed to stop by 2 weeks, then I'm in trouble :s
I wasn't given a timeline, just to watch out for giant (fist sized) clots.

I *wish* the bleeding stopped by 2 weeks. 😩 I'm almost 5 weeks out and wearing a pantiliner every day. What you're dealing with sounds pretty normal IMO.

This makes me feel so much better! I kept reading that it was supposed to be light pink by now and was like...definitely not that way for me. I guess what my doctor said didn't help - way to give me false hope! I'm not going to worry about the bleeding I've been having. I can't wait for it to go away though...I despise not being able to use tampons. ☹️

Thank you for asking because I'm going through the exact same thing and was starting to wonder if it's normal too!

Same experience here. I would have days with lighter flow then days with heavy gushes again.
I'm just over 3 weeks now and it seems like things are getting lighter - haven't had any heavy gushes in a few days. FFMC but I'm still wearing Depends even though it is lighter because they are so much more comfortable than pads to me.

Sounds normal to me. I think my PP bleeding stopped just after 4 weeks, but I was pretty well cleaned out with the c-section, so it was mostly light bleeding for most of the last two weeks. I did have a day or two here with gushes of bright red blood. Those days usually correlated with how active I was.

With DD I had 6w of bleeding and I’m expecting the same this time. The OB that discharged me said the bleeding might taper off in a couple weeks and then pick up again. Also to watch out for clots and filling a pad/hr.
All that to say, what your experiencing sounds normal.

I remember with DD I bled for 8-9 weeks and I even went back in to see if I had a retained placenta (nope.) it was just my body being like "hey remember how cool it was to not have your period for 9 months? Well here's all those periods you missed all at once now."

I also have some fake outs too like, none of days, I stop wearing a pad and then bam!

My bleeding had stopped completely for 4 or 5 days but that was a major fake out and it came back randomly one night. It's slowing down again, and like mkrupar said the heaviness usually correlates to how active I was that day. TMI it's brown at this point so I'm assuming it will be done soon. I'll be 3 weeks post delivery on Wednesday.

DS is 2.5 weeks and bleeding has definitely let up but not stopped. It is darker now and most days I can get away with just a panty liner. Days I do more or am on my feet a lot I’ll bleed more but not super heavy at this point anymore

I'm still passing clots and bleeding dark red (somewhat enthusiastically). Nothing concerning or anything, but definitely not stopping anytime soon.

Same as what most PP said. The first few weeks I had random gushes, usually if I was too active or lifting DS too much. Now at almost 5 weeks PP I'm still wearing light pads, even though It's come and gone a few times (the fake outs are real), I'm just going to keep wearing them until I've had a good few days of nothing (usually by 6 weeks). I remember all the times I thought it was over after having DS, and then BAM. I won't be falling for it this time!

Taitai, soaking through 3-4 pads a day seems like a lot to me? Maybe if it persists for 3 days, I would call? I'm of no help since I had a CS although I was told to watch out for clots no larger than golf ball size. I'm 4 wks and have moderate to light bleeding off and on. Also been more active the last couple weeks so bleeding picked up some. I do remember with DS I bled for about 6 wks and that was with labour and ecs but definitely I think the clot sizes and how much is the thing to be concerned with. Also hear ya bout not being able to wear tampons... I'm hoping after this I'll go for a yr like DS without a period...hoping for more since I had to taper BF down to get my period back after DS cos we were getting ready to do a FET.

Started back at 6wks. Now here I am moderate bleeding, cramps, nausea, minor clots. I'm dreading and honestly thinking this feels more like a period than anything. Which makes me kinda ragey. I'm going to give it another week or two. If I'm still bleeding like this at 8wks (a week and a half from now) , I'm going to call back.

I feel like it's heavier than it should be too, but then again, I normally have really heavy periods AND I had that stupid SCH, so I am thinking I just might be stuck with heavier bleeding than normal this time around. With DS1, I was constantly breastfeeding and my stupid period came back at 6 weeks pp 😭😭. I hate my period and its strong will so much.
