Morning! I'm supposed to be at a conference but am home with a sick L. She's already down for a nap cause she was up at 5:30. I'm looking forward to spending some one on one time with her so I hope she wakes up happy.

I have M’s parent/teacher conference this morning & both kids are still asleep. What?
That means I could have slept in an extra 30-45 min...

At work. I took my sweet time this morning since I thought my boss was starting his day at another branch. Nope. Waltzed in 10 minutes late and he's here. WTF.

Hi 👋! Sorry to have gone MIA for a bit. Life’s been busy and hectic!
Currently I’m in STL for a dr appt. I FINALLY got the shots in my wrists for carpel tunnel relief yesterday (the last 2 times I came for that they wanted to do further testing before giving the shots). If these don’t work or wear off I will have to have carpel tunnel surgery. But so far it feels good!
MH is also in STL this week for work. He is the commander of our agencies Honor Guard. They train 2x a year for a week to keep refreshed between details. So I left S at my parents last night and went out with MH and his team. I drank too much (I only drink like 2-3 times a year so I’m kinda a lightweight). Then stayed with him at his hotel. It was a nice mini escape! But I didn’t sleep well. Usually I sleep great after a few drinks, but I woke up 782x through the night. Now he and his team have headed out for training and I’m relaxing in the hotel room for a bit before I go get S from my parents.
I think S and I will do a few fun things before heading home this afternoon/evening. Probably going to check out We Are the Spectrum that just opened by my parents. It looks cool and I’ve been wanting to check it out for a while. They are supposed to have a lot of great things for kids with sensory issues. Which S has definitely been struggling with! Then I think we will hit up the STL Zoo. Then head home.

Morning! It's actually turning into a decent day here, despite it being so foggy that I kept running off the trail and tripping over branches on my run this morning.
Colin was alternating between being so damn cute this morning and being a total pill. But I guess I could say that most days? LOL. At least Chase is still at the stage where his tantrums happen when he's tired, so he's pretty pleasant in the mornings. I was having one of those odd mornings when the idea of staying home with them all day sounded lovely. Apparently I'd already forgotten about Colin hitting Chase with a hockey stick and then Chase trying to bite Colin last night...

I wish it was Thursday because that is payday. The signup sheet is posted for Halloween day. Breakfast = donuts, lunch = pizza + snacks, then trunk or treat. These kids have it made! I'm going to have to make my trunk or treat decorations this weekend. I'm just making a bunch of ghost stuff since I have leftover from E's costume.

wineallthetime I hope L feels better soon! This is a weird week...DCP is in Florida with her family, so I had to change the schedule for the grandparents to watch E all week. Usually my dad and step mom watch E on Thursdays, but I asked them to watch her today and Thursday this week, just picking her up today and keeping her overnight since they live about 45 minutes from us, instead of driving back and forth both days. I texted my dad last night to remind him and didn't hear anything back, which isn't unusual because he isn't much of a texter. At 6:45, when they would normally have picked her up, they still weren't there, so I sent them a text asking if they were on their way, that E was looking out the window for them, her bag was packed and she was ready to go. When I didn't hear anything by 6:55, I called and could tell I woke him up. I said 'isn't this the week you were going to pick her up today and keep her overnight?' He just kept saying 'shit, shit, we forgot.' Then he told me his knee was really bothering him, which he also complained about last week, so I asked if I needed to find someone else to watch her today. He said that would be best. So I called my mom, who wasn't awake, because it's 7am. I then sent her a text, which she thankfully answered a few minutes later, that she could watch E today. At least once a week, I think how much easier things would be if she went to a full time DC. I appreciate our parents helping us out, but mornings like today drive me nuts. TL;DR I ended up late to work because of DC schedules and I'm a little frustrated.

That’s frustrating for sure mwhip. Is there a huge price difference if you were to go with a centre?

So one of the many things S struggles with us attention and focus. And fine motor skills. So getting her to do things like drawing/coloring had been challenging. She’s finally showing interest in that! Granted, it just scribbles, while I know many of your kids are tracing letters and writing their names. But this is a HUGE feat for my girl and makes my momma heart proud!

@mwip the convenience of full time DC is nice, but so is saving money and using relatives! That sounds like a frustrating morning but glad your mom was able to step in!

That’s frustrating for sure mwhip . Is there a huge price difference if you were to go with a centre? I haven't ever checked, because E has always been with the grands 3 days a week. So when she started going to DC, I only wanted part time. We only pay $80 a week, so I'm sure it would be significantly more if we were to send her full time. I shouldn't complain, they're saving us a ton of money and building these memories with her. And no one watches me come and go, so coming in late to work isn't a huge thing.

Our, B and I, breakfast conversation this morning was sparked by a news story of donating blood. He asked a ton of questions and in conclusion he said ‘if I have something that can help someone I want to give my blood, Mom. Can we go today?’
This kid.

That's so sweet vino! This age, kids can have so much compassion. I hope they don't lose it! Evie knows tomorrow, when we cut her hair, we are donating it to someone who is sick and can't grow their own. I don't feel she needs more details than that.

PW here this morning!
So I did a quick search on the Kinder eggs and the company is launching Kinder Joy Eggs, which the FDA has approved. They aren't quite the same, but I'm sure I'll end up buying a shit ton of them...
"But the version that will debut in grocery and drugstores across the United States is the Kinder Joy, which is a more recent concoction that separates the toy from the candy because it is comprised of two sealed halves. One half contains milk-crème and cocoa flavoring with wafer bites and is eaten with an included spoon, while the other half of the egg contains a toy. That packaging—used by Ferrero to sell the chocolate treats in warm-weather markets—is fully compliant with both the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Consumer Product Safety Commission. "

But hate brushing it for 20 minutes each night. I got on Pinterest this weekend for new ideas to style it and she's digging this bun bow we've had to do the past few days. I wouldn't be heart broken if she changes her mind.

He's so sweet, vino. Last night I was asking Dude if he's sad about his best friend moving away. He said, "Well, I'm happy that he's happy. I'm happy for him." Tears.
