Feels like a convenient distraction, honestly.
And this sentence stood out. "But Trump’s longtime confidant Roger Stone told conspiracy theorist Al.ex J.ones of Inf.owars this week that he personally lobbied Trump to publish all of the documents."

honestly, this makes me nervous. Me, too. He's ignoring the IC once again. Maybe in this case, it's relatively harmless, but he is going to blow covers and get people killed if he keeps ignoring the experts.

I think it's going to be exactly the same as when Wikileaks dumped a bunch of Hillary's emails. A bunch of whacko conspiracy theorists combing through documents they don't understand and drawing conclusions without appropriate context then shrieking about it on the Internet.

honestly, this makes me nervous. Because? I'm envisioning In.fo W.ars listeners deciding that the government killed JFK and covered it up, and NOW THEY HAVE PROOF, and taking up arms bc they're angry. I'm afraid of crazies with stockpiles of guns killing innocent people.

I'm afraid of crazies with stockpiles of guns killing innocent people. To be fair, the truly crazy/maniacal don't need some documents as motivation. I think people will do what they do with this stuff and we'll be no closer to uncovering JFK truths. Besides, McBenny has already done that for us. #itwasLBJ

And they will never admit to cover up. That they killed a sitting president? Uh no.

I’m not sure Fox News will be able to connect his assassination to Obama but I just know they will be able to tie it to the Clintons!

I always assumed one of 45's first acts was to read all the classified stuff he was obsessed about. I told H I bet JFK files and area 51 were the first things he had on his desk. A nutjob's dream come true.

Wasn't a law passed that set the release of these files anyways? Like Trump can block it, but they'd be going out eventually anyways?
Also I agree crazies gonna crazy. They will always find their excuse to be crazy.

LBJ signed more legislation than most presidents. You can thank him for NPR and Sesame Street, the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, Fair Housing Act, Clean Air Act, the Freedom of Information Act, gun control, federal college grants, food stamps. Oh and these tiny programs called Medicare and Medicaid. He totally failed as a commander in chief but the America you know today is based on Johnson's presidency.

Who is surprised that this guy is throwing red meat to conspiracy theorists? This is bonkers. I heard that he hadn't even asked the Kennedy family's permission.

On the other hand, I'm watching the Burns documentary series on the Vietnam War and it does not paint LBJ in a favorable light.

It really seems like he's reaching now. "Alright, how can I make everyone look the other way while I fuck up the country....I KNOW I WILL PRETEND I FOUND OUT WHO KILLED JFK."

That's what I meant with my comment about failing as commander in chief. And he probably wasn't the best person - there are certainly reasons to question his motives and tactics as a legislator and decision-maker. I just think it is ridiculous to say that on the whole he wasn't a good president. He probably had the most positive impact on modern America of any president in the 20th century, behind FDR. (come at me!)

“So interesting!” A very odd way for a current President to comment on the circumstances around the assassination of a beloved former President.
ETA this is in response to DT’s tweet that Patton Oswald quoted ^^^
It’s like he really is a body snatcher... he does not act like a normal human in even the most basic ways..
