fancynewbeesly, I am amazed at how much I am eating considering how nauseated I have felt. I figured I wouldn't be able to eat at all but I want to eat all the things. It really is the only thing that keeps it at bay.

Today is 7,1
Had my first appointment at the OB. It was a Nurse Practitioner appointment and she was great. The best part was she didn't make me feel bad about my weight at all and didn't even remotely lecture me on weight gain.
Also, she said my cervix looks great (a concern because of my previous LEEP procedure).
I go back in 5 weeks to see the OB - they'll do another ultrasound, Materni21 testing, etc.

fatpony, the only person to discuss my weight with me last time was the MFM that I saw one time at my anatomy scan. He told me he only wanted me to gain 10 pounds. My son was over 9 pounds so...yeah. I gained 35 pounds last time. I'm hoping to only gain 20-25 this time because those extra 10 pounds took awhile to shake off.

fatpony, have you had experiences where they did say anything about your weight. My OB never did. I gained almost 40 last time and when I brought it up to her towards the end, she just said to make sure I was eating well and trying to exercise (as much as one can at 8-9 months pregnant). My goal is to gain 20 this time. I already have 10-15 to lose, so I'm trying not to make it as hard on myself as I did last time.

I gained 65 pounds the first go round and walked 3 miles every day. I just could not stop gaining weight. My OB never said anything to me about it, and my mom said that's what happened with her and all of her sisters. I am hoping/praying/doing all the things not to gain the same amount.

I gained somewhere around 30-40 lbs last time. I'm hoping to keep it around 20 this time since i still haven't lost all the baby weight from DD (and she's 3 and a half )

My whole life has been fat shaming at the doctor, so, I always go in with low expectations.

My last pregnancy I gained around 50lbs. Ugh. My OB never said anything. My MW already told me she’d like to see me gain around 25lbs this time. I’m proud of myself for not laughing in her face. Ideally sure, I’d love to gain a little less since it was such a PITA to lose last time but I don’t see how I will gain half of what I did last time. I worked out through all of my 2nd and 3rd tri.

I gained 50 and I ate healthier than ever. After breaking down and crying after a 6 pound gain one month, my OB just said some women just hang on to every single calorie while pregnant and I was one of the "lucky ones". I was eating fruit like it was my job so I'm sure all that sugar wasn't helping but at least I wasn't downing Mcdonalds every day. I'm hoping to gain less this time but I'm just glad my OB didn't shame me at all. I would've been devastated.

It really is the only thing that keeps it at bay. I'm in the same boat. I've been keeping it to healthy snacks so far but I am shocked at how hungry I am. I'm only 5 weeks. I don't remember this from last time.

My whole life has been fat shaming at the doctor, so, I always go in with low expectations. I’m so sorry, weight issues suck. I am pretty overweight, particularly the past several years due to medical issues and treatments and not losing anything after my last pregnancy, and hate going to the doctor for this reason. I broke down and broached it with my OB/GYN at my annual at the end of August, which took place right after my BFP, before she could address it. My doctor said it was good to be aware, but not to stress too much. We made a plan for me to gain no weight, and she said that healthy weight loss for someone like me was also okay. I’ve actually lost 10 lbs in the past two months, mostly due to morning sickness and a relatively normal metabolism for once.

1. EDD/How far are you now? May 3, 11w6d
2. Symptom check: nausea, all the time. Super sensitive smell and gag reflex, peeing all the damn time, mood swings, and acne. It’s fun.
3. What and when is your next appointment? 10/23, first appointment with the OB, not NP like last time. I get a pelvic exam and discuss the results of my blood work. Will also be addressing my concerns about delivery.
4. Anything you’d like to share? I’m concerned. My lab results online showed my glucose and A1c were on the high side. I wasn’t fasting so the actual glucose numbers don’t concern me, but the A1c does especially with a family history of diabetes and my weight. Ugh. But the only things I can keep down are carbs and occasionally cheese!
5. QOTW: ETA: The weekend randoms were aflame with gender prediction. Do you have a prediction? What about the other people you've told?
My guess is girl. I keep using female pronouns for some reason. I’m not so patiently waiting on my NIPT results. OR my original question that is a bit lackluster: What is your favorite pattern? Are you a polka-dot gal? Is paisley your thing? Vertical stripes? Anything flowery?
Not a big pattern person in general.

1. EDD/How far are you now? May 31st/ 7w6d
2. Symptom check: sore boobs, nausea, exhaustion, mood swings (especially with the toddler)
3. What and when is your next appointment? Next Tuesday! Initial appointment and u/s. I'm getting excited to see the little nugget.
4. Anything you’d like to share? I've also been ravenous while queasy. And of course, nothing healthy sounds good.
5. QOTW: ETA: The weekend randoms were aflame with gender prediction. Do you have a prediction? What about the other people you've told? I have no idea. I'm going to guess boy. For now.
OR my original question that is a bit lackluster: What is your favorite pattern? Are you a polka-dot gal? Is paisley your thing? Vertical stripes? Anything flowery?
I'm more of a solids girl with occasional florals.

I, too, gained ~50lbs with both previous pregnancies while exercising and cutting out sugar. But I'm ravenous all the time. I only lost 45 the first time and 42 the second before getting my BFPs. So I'm still up 13. I'm praying I don't gain as much this time. I feel like I've been dieting for 4 years. I'm always so envious of the people that get to eat anything while pregnant. While I'm over here trying to survive on popcorn and apples.

When do I start worrying about spotting? I feel like I should be more calm since I've done this before but with a previous loss I worry about most everything. I've been spotting since 9dpo (currently 16dpo or 4w2d). It's pink or brown at times and very slight but definitely goes on all day (not at night) and is more when I go to the bathroom.
Someone talk me down.

charliefox, the fact that it's pink and brown and not red makes me think it's nothing. If it were read & heavier, I would worry more. What does your activity level look like currently, or since the spotting started? My cervix got angry in my previous two pregnancies if I did too much, even as simple as walking up/down the stairs too many times in one day. It has since calmed down for this third.

I chase a toddler around all day and occasionally walk the dogs while wearing said toddler, so really nothing much.
