What are some of your favorite words or phrases that your toddler says?

K calls dinosaurs "Die-doh-doo" and it's my absolute favourite thing in the world. Best, is that I put up some scary Halloween window silhouettes and instead of being scared of them, she thinks they are Die-doh-doo and is obsessed with them.
She also started calling mh by his first name this weekend. He has an easy 3 letter name that I say approximately 10 billion times a day for various reasons. He was not amused, but I was holding back laughter to the point of tears. 😂😂😂

backstory: DH and I switch off bedtimes each night. However, I'm the desired bed time parent for both kids. LBB is a jerk, so nights that I put him to bed he tells BH "watch me" then turns to me and says "Are you putting me to bed tonight?"
So now every night BH says to me "watchme you putting me bed night?"
And if I say yes he says "you my best friend."

Anything that goes on top of something is a hat. So lids to sippy cups, boxes, whatever, is a hat. Also the lid to the toilet seat is the “potty hat.”

LO has recently started saying “ok, I got it” We also taught her to say sorry, but she quite doesn’t understand when to say it yet, and her new favorite activity is pushing Beatbo or a stuffed animal over/knocking them on the floor, and then saying “sorry” and then saying “it’s ok, I give you” (forgive you). Lol.

DS has started asking "Who's that friend?" when he sees an unfamiliar character in a book or show. To be honest, sometimes he'll ask about characters I know he knows too.
Last night DH laid down in DS's bed while I read his bedtime story. I told DS to say "Daddy, that's my big boy bed!" He ended up saying "Daddy, that's Mommy's big boy bed!"

DD likes to use “sure” when answering questions like “I sure am!” And “It sure is!” I have no idea where she got this and it is hilarious.

DS refers to the ups truck as the pooey s truck, no matter how many times I correct him. It's hilarious. He yells at us if I misidentify any construction vehicle. "No mommy, that is an excavator ... see the boom, the arm, and the bucket?"

grumpycat DS corrects us too when we misidentify vehicles. For some reason he distinguishes between police cars and cop cars (to him, they're the police SUVs), so if we see one of the SUVs and call it a police car, we immediately hear "No, that's a cop car!"

DS calls our dog, Jilly, "jiji" which I just find the cutest. And the way he talks to her - "No, Jiji! That mine" if she's trying to take his food. Or, whenever he wakes up in the morning or from nap, Jilly is so excited to go into his room. Now that he's in a toddler bed, I'll let her jump up in there with him and she'll normally lick his face/toes/whatever appendage is sticking out from the covers. When he's still sleepy, he pulls his covers over his head and says, "No, Jiji! Go way!" I love it.
Also, when he says "I'm sorry, momma," he just has the sweetest little voice. Last night I got really frustrated about something and started crying, because it had just been one of those days. He saw me, and said, "oh, mama crying." So I told him I was sorry, it was ok, I just had a bad day. So he came to me with the squishiest toddler hug he could give and said in his sweetest little toddler voice, "I'm sorry, mama. I love you." I basically melted into a puddle on the floor, but it did make my day 100 times better.

DD says "kee" for cookies and "pee" for please, so yesterday it was "mama, kee pees!"
My favorite is she is learning her name and other people's names too. She hasn't gotten down a J sound- it comes out a K sound. So she's Koo (for Juliet) and my sister's boyfriend is Koe (Joe).

He also learned our cat's name recently, and loves to pretend-share his food. He'll offer us a bite and say, "Eat!" before then putting it in his own mouth. DD calls one of our cats by her nickname (we figured Boo would be easier than Ada), so whenever she sneaks down I hear DD yelling "BOO! BOO!"

M spent an overnight with his grandparents two weekends ago and came home saying, "Dude!" Now I want to know the grandparents who go around saying "dude". Sounds like my kind of people.

V cracks me up with the grown up things he says.
The other day in the car, he yelled “c’mon, let’s go!” when we sat at a light.
He feeds the dog for us now and when I tell him it’s time, he gets in the dog’s face and says “Budders are you hungry?” (That’s what H and I always ask)
He can tell the landmarks when we get close to our house and he’ll always yell out from the backseat “Mommy, are we?” (Where are we)
When he and I accidentally collide (usually me scratching him with a nail or my rings) he’ll say “Sorry mommy! Sorry!” (Cuing me to apologize to him)
When we tell him to stop doing whatever dangerous thing he’s doing, he’ll look right at me and say “it’s okay mommy, I be careful. No get hurt”. 😂

DH taught DS1 to say "Heyyyyy brother," like Buster from Arrested Development, to my bump when I was pregnant. Now that LO is here, DS1 says, "Heyyyyy baby brother." It's adorable.

When DD is being tickled in the midst of her giggles she will tell us to "chill." It cracks us up.

Nugget (almost 2) heard a siren the other day and when I told her it must be a police car, she went around saying "Woo car! Woo car!" she also calls an octopus "Wafflepus"

LO won’t eat anything unless she knows what it’s called. So if she gets a food she doesn’t recognize she holds it out and says “whatado?” Which is how she says what is it or when she doesn’t know what to do. Then when you tell her she repeats it back like she is trying to learn every food. Lol.

DS has been hearing the term gluten-free a lot since his celiac diagnosis and will insist that random objects are gluten-free. Yesterday he grabbed a bucket from his playroom and announced "Got a gluten-free bucket!"

Since the leaves have started falling in large numbers I have spent a crazy amount of time telling K to stop picking random leaves off the ground and teaching her that "leaves are gross, icky, they stay on the ground". Especially during our 5 million hour walk to the car to go to daycare in the morning. Yesterday we had pot pie and I made an arugula salad to go on the side. K deftly started picking out the arugula saying with as much conviction as she could muster "Leaves! Gross! Icky" this was my exact reaction: She's got a valid point there.

Ummmm hi guys! I totally disappeared last... November 8? Yeah. That was a bad day. And then someone I kept in touch with who's here now told me you guys moved around May, but I don't even know what happened. So yeah. A lot has happened in a year! I can't wait to catch up with you all. katespade, sheilathetank, buddersIn the meantime, my new favorite thing is that every time kiddo sees a little toy or treat or something that reminds her of Halloween she goes "HA-ween! HA-ween!" Also I forget how to add a picture to my profile, embed a gif, or do anything else on here. Halp.

adorebel, also the boards are a little different now. Most people hang in general discussions. Politics has it's own board. It's a lot less segregated and people post wherever.
