Holy freaking bananas, people. Last night was... awful.
DD3 woke up at 1:30. I brought her a bottle, but she was unzipping her sleep sack and ready to get up for the day. Long story short, she was awake from 1:30 until 4 a.m., and I was up with her (she was in her bed, but there's no place for me to sleep or even sit in her room, so I stood by her crib).
At 4am I heard DD1 (6) calling me. I went over, and she said her tummy hurt. I asked if she felt like she was going to throw up, she nodded yes and then proceeded to puke immediately. I ran around gathering supplies and told DH I needed support since DD3 hadn't fallen asleep yet either. About 5 am I finally got to sleep - until 6:15 when DDs 1+2 were awake.
I hate stomach bugs with the burning fiery passion of 5,000 suns. And the worst part IMO is waiting to see who else is going to get it. I would almost prefer all 3 kids get it at once so it's over and done with. Of course, if that ever happens I might change my mind very quickly since I imagine it's a logistical nightmare trying to take care of everyone.

crimsonandclover that sounds awful. Are you off today then? Maybe you can get a nap? We are healthy here which is a pleasant change. I’m a little frustrated with dd1s kindergarten. They sent a note home saying to work on counting bc she can only count to 12. Well at 12 her lisp kicks in and the words sound similar for 13, 14, 15. I’m frustrated her teacher hasn’t listened to her talk enough to know this. I’m trying to be quiet until her conference in two weeks bc I know she can count to 40 without help. 😜

dizzycooks, today was a freelance day, so I'm half-heartedly doing some proofreading. Preschool called at 11:30 for me to come get DD2 because she said her tummy hurt. I picked up her and DD3 and about 2 seconds after we got home DD2 said her tummy didn't hurt anymore and could she please have some chocolate and could we go bike riding and what were we having for lunch? So, yeah. Thankfully my deadline for this job isn't until next Friday, so I have some leeway. I also think it's strange her teacher hasn't noticed that. But I think your plan of waiting is a good one - it doesn't sound like a problem you need to jump on. And maybe in the meantime her teacher will realize she actually can count that high.

OMG crimsonandclover, that is awful. Hugs and hair pats. I hope you can get a nap and FX no one else gets sick in the meantime! dizzycooks, is there an opportunity to bring it up with the teacher during drop off or pickup? I guess I'd want to address it sooner rather than later. But yes, that is super frustrating! How many kids are in her class?

I kept S home today. He's in rough shape, but better today than yesterday.
I have to get stuff done today. I fell behind on housework over the weekend.

scorpioscuba she takes the bus and even if I did pick up or drop off you don’t get to go to the classrooms or see the teacher. I could email her or make an appointment, but knowing that it’s not a real issue I am going to wait bc I know she knows the stuff. I will be asking what the teacher hears in regards to her speech

@kelltothekell we need to go get flu shots too, but I dread taking them all. So much work. So many tears.

I realized all my meals this week can be done up in advance. Off to make a massive amount of sloppy Joe’s, cowboy dinner and chicken casserole. No more cooking after this cue Netflix please!

@kelltothekell we need to go get flu shots too, but I dread taking them all. So much work. So many tears. We went to the library after. It helped to do something fun after. Absolutely no tears until about two seconds after the shot but a sucker cleared them up. I feel good getting it out of the way.

Eeks sorry for the rough night crimsonandclover Today was a pretty average Monday. An employee told me her family is moving. But on the bright side she gave me 6weeks notice. My dear friend was in a bad car accident. She is lucky to be alive. I got to go visit her today and all in all she is in good spirits. L threw my phone while I was in the bathroom. She had already shattered the screen and this last toss has done even more severe damage. F,!/&@ a new phone was not in the current budget 👿

Oh and we got invited to a Halloween party. A very fanceh one. I haven't been to one in YEARS. These people are all much wealthier, prettier, and most likely cooler than we are. And somehow I need to find a costume that will not make me feel like a douche. It's all a little intimidating and I would pass but I am just dying to see how the fabulous Halloween.

We are invited to a party too, but it’s adults only and I am not up for finding a sitter. I guess we will be home. No costume inspiration here, but I may think on it for you....maybe horse racer?? 😂

It is 70 degrees and sunny today!! I wish I had some energy to go enjoy it. I pulled all the plants I had left and should probably mow, but I’m about 5 minutes from collapsing.

Non-douchy costume ideas: 70s ski bum Pris (Daryl Hannah’s character) from the original Blade Runner Spooky doll like this: If you want to be ultra douchy you could be a slutty giraffe: If you want to be scary AND regional, you could go as Betsy DeVos

Dd2’s new obsession is the book Everyone Poops. We have read it about 8 times already today and she’s asking for more. She likes to point at the various poops and say “Poooooooop” very seriously.

That is one book we don’t have. I may need to get it. We are doing so well on potty training, I honestly probably just need to get her undies and bite the bullet and be done with diapers for the most part.

nellieoleson, that is really funny with the book! DD1 is healthy again. But DD3 woke up with a fever. Of course after I had already gotten up at 5 for work and gotten ready. :/ And then my Fitbit reminded me that not getting enough sleep is bad and can lead to increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, and many other health problem. Thanks. You don't need to tell me to get more sleep. Tell my kids they're killing me.

crimsonandclover I hate the sleep function on my Fitbit. More than telling me I don’t sleep enough it also is t accurate. I know I’m getting less sleep than it describes, I just lay still 😂.

We have a few Tarō Gomi books, and that one and My Friends are our favorites. However, I wouldn’t say it’s a potty training book, even though the subject is poop. More like a biology book for wee ones.

I am sick again. So is dd2.
I have had a new cold every two weeks since September. It’s awful. Just as I am *almost* better, BAM! a new cold comes to ruin everything.
This one seems to be more of a snotty, stuffy nose thing, and the last one was more of a hacking cough thing, so at least I’m getting some variety. 😭😭😭

nellieoleson I’m sorry you’re sick. So hard to be sick with littles around. I need to come up with outfits for the the littles for pictures Friday. I have zero ideas.

dizzycooks, I actually like the sleep function, but yes, sometimes I have noticed that during periods when I lie very still it thinks I'm sleeping. On Sun/Mon it actually recorded my night as 2 separate sleep sessions since I was up for like 2.5 hours in the middle. DD3 is now feeling better, so she'll go back to DC tomorrow. We'll see if now it'll be DD2's turn to wake up sick. Tomorrow I have to get up at 5am and then I have an orchestra concert at night - my solo piece is the last one we're playing, so I get to look forward to having to be at my best at around 10pm after such a crappy sleep week and getting up at 5. I'm guessing it will not be my best performance ever.

I hope you’re wrong crimsonandclover and that the rest of the week is uneventful. I found outfits for the girls today. This was the first time I’ve needed dd1 to try things before I bought them. She’s so tall and skinny it makes sticking to one size hard. I’ll post a pic later, but the theme is navy, olive and cream with a bit of gold and rust.
