Just some early morning musings...
Somehow, DS2 is 4 weeks old today?!?!?😭😢 how is this even possible? He isn't even supposed to be here yet and here he is 4wks old?!?
Second, mastitis in the newborn stage is really kicking a woman when she is already been kicked while she is down. Lol. I'm finally coming out of the other side, I think. It just took 48hrs of medicine to get it to start working.
Third, fb memories are such a good thing. Apparently last year I took ds1 to the zoo today. We had a great time riding the carousel twice, eating ice cream, and just having a mommy/ds date for his 3yr10mo birthday. I wish we could do it again today. But with ds2 coming, we let our membership lapse and I really don't think I'm quite up to the zoo yet. Our zoo is HUGE and a TON of walking up hill. (You know it's bad when they put a sign at the highest point halfway and say, you made it! It's all downhill from here!
Fourth, my house is seriously trashed. And it is beyond stressing me out. My Inlaws are coming in a week. I am panicking about the state of my house. 😱👎🏻😭🙈

Big hugs ssm! I hope the mastisis clears up quickly. I would like to hope your in-laws would be understanding about the state of your house, but if they're anything like mine they'll still give side eyes. Bleh.

ssm Wow, time has flown by! I'm glad your meds are working for the mastitis and don't stress about cleaning up for the in laws, you've been through a lot over the past month.

H was a jerk last night about me calling him to leave work since I thought I was in labor. It's the second time and I feel dumb enough about it without him saying something. If I have something happen today I my mom is off work, I don't want my IL's involved because I don't find them supportive. I am determined to try and be positive and have a good day today. The baby will come when it's ready and I'm totally going to post stalk today to see all these new squishes that are arriving.

ssm it sounds like maybe the antibiotics are working - but yes, way to kick a momma while she’s down, yeah! Hope you can get some sleep today cougarette excited for this baby! Can’t wait to read updates today For me, baby was up most of the night. I’m a bit sleep deprived this morning... and the help I’ve had over the last few days goes home too so that’s not helping in my hormonal sleep deprived state. I know we can do this but mentally I’m not in that headspace today. Rant ahead - DD1 is supposed to have a sleepover at MiL tonight. Seeing as I barely trust my Inlaws I’m also a wreck about this. They do fine when it’s just my kid but if the other cousins come over they have trouble watching multiple kids and I worry. Part of it is this “we raised you all this way - you’re fine” thing, like H didn’t need a noisemaker/white noise so DD doesn’t either. Fine, but don’t complain to me when she’s up at 5:30am or can’t sleep at midnight. She doesn’t nap for them at all (see: not following any routine we set up) so I’d prefer their visit be kept to one night only so she’s not a hot mess when we get her back but H wants his parents to take more of an interest in grandparenting like my parents do. His parents act like it’s a burden half the time (though they then complain we don’t let them spend time with her?!?). Again though.... hormones and sleep deprivation aren’t helping me deal with this well. I acknowledge that and accept that she’ll be just fine, despite my ramblings and concerns.

Exhausted over here. DS has been a crap sleeper lately. I was having contractions and needing to use the bathroom every 20 minutes last night (TMI) so I couldn’t deal. MH was amazing and stepped up and finally got him to sleep at 9.
I’m looking forward to my OB appointment and getting my hair done this afternoon. We are also hitting up our favorite pizza spot this evening. Probably our last dinner out before baby comes.

Present. Still pregnant. Membrane sweep didnt work, so I'll go back on Monday to have it done again. Then I'll likely have to schedule my induction. Really hoping it doesn't get to that point after my luck last time. GET THE MESSAGE, BABY!!

I had an OB appointment yesterday afternoon and while my BP was below the cutoff she still sent me to triage last night for monitoring and labs. Apparently she didn't like my at-home readings. So I spent another three hours in triage last night before being sent home. 😒 I was starving so we asked the ILs to stay a little later and went out for ramen last night. It was sooo good.
@caitost fwiw I had a membrane sweep with the OB yesterday and it did nothing except make me crampy. 😞
I completely forgot that our nanny requested today off until about 9PM last night. So we are all hanging out today while DH pseudo works from home, praying DD is a perfect angel! I invited my mom over, just not sure when she'll be here.
Oh, and it's my due date. And nothing is happening. So...

Despite me having contractions all over the place and feeling pretty crappy - we had a fun day today! It was a local holiday, so no school for DS and no work for anyone. We've been having my nanny and her daughter stay with us most days - in case we need to make a quick dash to the hospital - so the house was full and lively. We baked these chocolate caramel saltine/toffee things I love (we call it chocolate crack), and then we watched Hocus Pocus.
DS liked seeing the pumpkins in Hocus Pocus, but he lost interest pretty quickly as the movie went on. He did, on the other hand, looooooove the chocolate crack. He hardly ever gets sweets, so we have to be careful about Halloween and candy I think. I don't want to loose my good, healthy eater to junk food cravings/demands!
Sitting here in bed now with painful contractions that are all over the place - they sometimes come at 5 minutes apart...then stop for an hour...then come at 8-10 min apart...then stop. Baby moves a lot for a while, but then stops moving for an hour. It's honestly starting to drive me insane. I am probably going to ask for an induction on my due date (Oct 20), because I don't know if I can take more than another week of this. I'm worried I am going to get desensitized to the contractions and have a baby at home or in a car or something.

Taitai, I'm 100% with you on asking for an induction soon. I'm terrified that i won't believe it when the real thing comes because they've been coming and going for so long, and get stronger throughout the course of the day every day. I'm not even sure what I'm looking for to go in anymore. I feel like I'm more confused this time than i was with DS's labor.

ETA: Pic I ❤️ Him and the first two seasons of that show. It took me a while to figure out that I thought he was hot. I binged that show when I was on mat leave w DS2! I was at Chateau Marmont in LA in Jan and he was a few tables over w a big party group. They were having a lot of fun. His wife was there and they were really into each other. He looked great in person.

Are all you ladies with contractions making sure you are super hydrated? It may be that some of the contractions are from being borderline dehydrated?

Friday confession - I never woke my kids to feed. If they slept, they slept. I was rigid about 2-3 hours during the day. I was never instructed to wake them. DS1 started 6-8 hours by 3 weeks. DS2 sleeping 8 hours today at almost 3 is not a sure thing.

trinitrotoluene I feel the exact same way. At least it's comforting to know I'm not the only one dealing with this and having these feelings...I am sorry that you are in the same boat as me on this one. Sigh...I am hoping that my water just breaks soon (like it did with DS), so the decision to go to the hospital will be made for me. Getting more doubtful that will happen though. ☹️

Are all you ladies with contractions making sure you are super hydrated? It may be that some of the contractions are from being borderline dehydrated? I drink soooooo much water (like 2.5 liters a day), because I've had a huge SCH my entire pregnancy and that is what you are supposed to do for management of it. I'm positive it's not dehydration. I'm also peeing like every 20-60 minutes, because the contractions hit my bladder each time....bladder empty of bladder full doesn't seem to have any be effect on the contractions either. Bah.

I feel like babies will let us know if/when they are hungry and other than that, I'll enjoy the little sleep I can get. That being said, I fully understand it's a "to each their own" thing and sometimes there are extenuating circumstances like weight gain issues. But I, personally, don't wake them.

We had a bit of a rough night but we’re managing. DS was a dream all day and then basically nursed from 10-2 and couldn’t be put down. At 2 he finally crashed and we got 4 hours of sleep!!!! Fed him and back down for a couple hours thankfully. So I feel like a bit of a zombie...

danvers Hugs, dealing with the in laws and finding a balance can be hard at the best of times never mind when you are dealing with post partum hormones and sleep deprivation. caitost21 Enjoy your day! I also had a membrane sweep that didn't do much. Taitai I hope your body gets its act together soon! trinitrotoluene I know what you mean, it's like another pregnant person will know better. I will definitely be second guessing myself the next time it happens, you've been having it happen way more than I have and can see why you and Taitai are worried about not making it to the hospital on time. @i bootsorhearts1 Man candy Monday's sounds like a great idea! He is was more attractive in that pic than the show. ssm Yes, I'm drinking a ton of water, I've had Braxton hicks from dehydration and these are totally different.

This minus the SCH. I drink at least 20 ounces of water every 2 hours, pee constantly, take baths, lay down, walk. Nothing seems to stop them with any consistency.
