Husband is nesting. Last night after I put L to sleep, he decided he needed to disassemble the desk in our bedroom RIGHT NOW (it's being operated on and relocated) and when I asked if he really needed to do that in the room next to the toddler trying to sleep, I was told "we're having a baby soon and we need to get ready."
I had my hospital tour yesterday and it super freaked me out, and I'm back to trying not to think about surgery #2 and how much our whole world is going to change, again, in 57 days or less (which I was just so helpfully reminded of by my pregnancy app).

We discussed vbac vs RCS last night at length before bed and I am just so scared to make the decision.

ldubhawksfan - as my doctor told me, it's a lot easier to plan and schedule RCS, and end up going for a VBAC, than to go in the other direction. Right now I'm leaning toward trying the VBAC IF I go into labor on my own before my RCS, but otherwise I think the RCS is appropriate (especially as I'm likely to be a medical induction making me a poor VBAC candidate then anyways). I had a good experience with my first, but it's still so nerve wracking to plan on it (as I know you understand). I have no burning desire for a vaginal birth, which eliminates at least one consideration.

Its not like I'll feel incomplete not ever experiencing a vaginal birth, but maybe irrationally I almost feel like I'm taking the "easy" way out by not at least trying it. For me, since the only reason for the CS before was breech baby, I'm a good candidate, except for my blood thinners. But then again I have little faith that this baby will flip, just like it's sister, so I'm kind of defeated and just want to cut to the chase. I just don't want to make this adult decision! 😂

officedronette how was the hospital tour? I was told they basically sit you in an auditorium and show a video and the only way to get a real tour was to sign up for a childbirth class. Was this your experience?

I took an unplanned day off from work today and it ended up being glorious. When I woke up this morning I felt a migraine with splotchy vision coming on so I didn't want to risk my 45 minute highway commute, so I took a sick day. The splotchy vision went away pretty quickly and I got DD ready for preschool then lazed around all day. It was so nice.

Was this your experience? Yes, but this is how they did it at my old hospital as well, so that doesn't bother me. (Plus I like knowing that when I'm ON the mother-baby floor, there aren't going to be tour groups coming through - I'm a little disappointed to hear they do give live tours to some for that reason.) The actual presentation is available on the website but the presenter's commentary was lively and helpful, and I appreciated the opportunity to ask questions. We had lunch in the cafeteria beforehand and the food was good. All in all seems almost identical to my first hospital procedurally - unsurprising given both are "baby friendly." I'm a bit bummed to have learned they don't have portable lights so if baby is jaundiced (which D has a high likelihood of being), they have to take them to the nursery. That was awful last time and I'm not looking forward to a recurrence - I just want to keep my baby!

My first was a small suburban hospital and we got the full tour so this seemed odd to me. I saw the short video on the website and think I'll probably skip the tour.

Baby is breech right now with us too. Kind of freaked about it. I have had my other 2 vaginally and have never had a surgery of any kind so it would be a new world to me. Hoping this baby flips, and soon!!!

So far kiddo is happy and head down. My BP is looking really good, so hopefully we'll get to 38.5 and then kick him out. I'm simultaneous glad to have weekly appointments and also annoyed that I basically live at my OB's now.

Hoping this baby flips, and soon!!! Jenn, look up flipping baby movements. They didn't work for DD because it turned out her cord was short, but it's worth a shot. I also wish I would have looked into acupuncture with her too. But again hindsight it wouldn't have helped. You can also ask your dr about if they recommend a version. I wasn't a good candidate, so CS it was. There is still time.

We flipped at about 30 weeks to head down, and I think that is why I am measuring big all of a sudden. I’m still excited to see the baby Friday and since we have to go to a wedding Saturday my family is excited for ultrasound pictures.
This week I have had a freak out moment about people posting on Facebook when the baby is here, which is telling the world that our house is sitting empty. And last night I had a dream that we couldn’t figure out how to install the car seat base.

We had our last MFM appointment today. Baby is head down, 4 lbs even, has hair, and we even got to see him practicing his breathing. They no longer have any concerns about his kidneys. I am going on prescription strength medication for my acid reflux/heartburn. We finally ordered his furniture and even got more Christmas shopping in. Now we wait about 8 weeks for his arrival. Hopefully, he hangs tight until Dec. 6th.

My doctor called yesterday that I passed my glucose test but I have a UTI. I'm freaked out because the exact same thing happened with my last baby. Last time I took all the meds but a month later ended up in the hospital for 3 days with contractions and a kidney infection. I requested they retest me after the meds this time. I have been really tired but now I wonder if the infection is part of that. DS2 had a Croupy sounding cough last night so I stayed home with him today which I think was good for me too.

Mine doesn't offer VBACs either and I'm ok with that. My sister went to a different hospital so she could have one with her second daughter and still ended up with a c-section.

Glad you passed your test, kim22 - hope the UTI clears up with no additional infection!

The hospital I delivered at last time did a full tour after the auditorium speech. We went into an empty L&D room and then saw a couple of recovery room options. I think they try to keep the first room or two on the floors open for this purpose, when possible, so they don't have to waltz a tour group past occupied rooms.

I'm coming up for air...excuse me while I catch up on randoms. Finally hired someone at work- they start next Monday- so I can stop stressing about that. Now I just need to get everything in order.
Oh, and I had a prenatal massage last weekend am wondering why I didn't schedule one earlier. My piriformis muscle was so tight I nearly jumped off the table when the masseuse touched my hip, but I feel so much better now.

I never had siatic nerve pain with DD, but holy hell I have this week. Would it be weird to just have someone rub my lower back and butt for an hour?! 😂

Pregnancy hormones: I started crying after finding out that the sofa we had picked up just got smashed and take him to the landfill. I feel so guilty for putting something that big in a landfill.

Last week was awful. I’m hoping this week is uneventful to make up for it.
*triggers*
My grandma passed away from surgery complications on Monday. My sister flew in Tuesday and we had to help get pictures ready for the funeral. Wednesday and Thursday were funeral. Friday I had a doctors appointment. Saturday was a family wedding.
Friday we found out that the baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead with head at the 88th percentile. My doctor said she would let me go to 40 weeks but we would induce on my due date if I make it that far. She doesn’t think we will. We have a repeat US at 37 weeks to check size again. Baby is officially taking after me on the size, has my nose, hair, and super adorable chubby cheeks.
