I love and highly recommend stuff you missed in history class and sawbones! Sawbones is medical history topics done by a husband and wife team and they are hilarious.

Sawbones is good for interesting medical stuff. They do a wide variety and recent ones have been very of the moment.
Invisibilia and RadioLab are some other favorites.

For politics I love Politically Reactive, it's funny and relevant.
For comedy I love 2 Dope Queens, hosted by two amazing WOC Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson. They usually feature several stand up comics that are women/LGBTQ/POC, which is awesome. Along the same lines i enjoy Phoebe's solo podcast Sooo Many White Guys where she interviews people who are not white guys lol.
S-Town and the 2 seasons of Serial are interesting stories that you can binge in a week.
True crime - really into Someone Knows Something (investigative) and My Favorite Murder (comedy).
Fictional - Darkest Night season 1.

Criminal and Lore are good individual episodes and usually a little less heavy. Sword and Scale is recommended a lot. I like it but don't love it

I like it but don't love it I love sword and scale! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I mostly like it but sometimes it gets a little heavy handed for my taste. The first two I mentioned are really well researched and presented. In the dark deals with some interesting societal stuff and Breakdown talks some about jury selection which I found really fascinating. Both deal with child death though

I know a lot of people that also love My Favorite Murder but I found the hosts annoying +1. I couldn't handle them and gave up. I love Sword and Scale but some episodes are super heavy and dark.

My favorite true crime is True Crime Garage
Stuff You Missed in History Class is excellent
My favorite political one is Pod Save America
I'm currently obsessed with No Such Thing As a Fish. The hosts each bring a new fun obscure fact and there's lots of dry British humor and banter.

Radiolab is my absolute favorite, so I third that recommendation.
I also recommend This American Life, but only season 1 of Serial. Not enamored with Season 2 or S-town.
Planet Money Doug Loves Movies Stuff You Missed in History Class My Brother, My Brother and Me
and then I listen to the Hamilton ones. Which is really only going to be interesting to you if that's your thing.

Listen to Up and Vanished and then come and talk to us in the thread about all of your theories. i listened to most of this and came away just annoyed. The host drove me crazy. I gave up a few episodes ago, figured I could just google and read about the rest.

I'm going to have to check these out! I like:
Judge John Hodgman Rich Roll This American Life My Dad Wrote a Porno (usually I listen to podcasts while working out, but not this one b/c I laugh too much) My Favorite Murder (I see the annoying thing but they make me laugh most of the time). Missing Richard Simmons (interesting b/c the people who are friends with Richard Simmons are something else) Throwing Shade
