After 5 hours of timeable contractions last night, plus losing my mucous plug, I really thought it was time. Unfortunately my body has different ideas. I just really need my body to stop pretending it's going to cooperate or else it needs to get real. I'm sick of all the false starts. Yessss

Rama, the "boiling water" description sounds like baby flutters to me. The only time I've ever felt that feeling is during early pregnancy, so I feel like it is hard to come up with other things it would be outside of baby movement.

So which FTMs wanna tell me when they started feeling movement? And what it felt like? Because I'm impatient. Not until 25 weeks, my stupid placenta was in the way

I also apparently described it as a drumroll and a phone vibrating. So very well could have been gas?

DS doesn't have strep!! Took him to he doctor today since his fever wasn't going away after 2 days and they said combo of allergies and something viral that they've been seeing a lot of in kids since Harvey came. Now we have antibiotics and steroids. Hoping he will start feeling 100% over the weekend.
The dresser for baby came today and whoa is it huge. "Extra wide" is no joke.

We got kicked out of the cardiology clinic; this baby has a perfect heart. I am so relieved, I could throw up. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I've told my daughter she has used up her drama quota until she is 20. It works like that, right?
Also, today is my due date. I have a three and a half week old. This time is flying.

I am bouncing on my exercise ball and hoping that these cramps turn into something legit! Baby showing up this weekend would be the most ideal timing, come on baby, cooperate! My due date is tomorrow and at my midwife appointment yesterday she said baby has dropped quite low and she doubts she will see me for an appointment next week, she thinks baby is coming soon. So come on baby!

bubblefan Great news!!! doodlemommy Hoping the exercise ball does the trick - come on baby doodle! I was up for like 3 hours last night timing my contractions - they were coming about 12-10 minutes apart consistently for the last 1.5 hrs...and then they just stopped. Ughhhhhhhhhhh. Guess we'll see what happens this holiday weekend.

Bounced on my ball for a good half hour.
All I have to show for my efforts are some sore hips.

Well no success yet. But the cramping and pressure have been pretty much constant all day. Fingers crossed for a baby sometime this weekend 👶🏼!

So, rookie question, when you guys are feeling contractions and timing them, where are you feeling the contractions?
I was induced last time and the pitocin contractions were like someone was taking all my organs and squeezing/wringing them out. Is this what normal ones feel like too?

I've been reading that they tend to start in your back and radiate towards your belly. But I've mostly been feeling them just in my belly. So maybe I'm not feeling contractions at all?

With DS my water broke before I went into labor, and I was also on pitocin to induce contractions. Kind of in the same boat as you. Mine feel like period cramps, low in my abdomen and they radiate to my back as well. They also come in a wave - so I can feel it starting, peak, and then gradually subside. They haven't been very painful yet - like, I can easily talk through them. But they are uncomfortable and I can't really sleep through them either. Don't know if that is any help!

From what I remember when I went into labor with DD the contractions felt like a wave like Taitai said. I’ve felt a few but nothing consistent

You can feel when a contraction is starting. Just like someone else mentioned a wave. It starts also enough you have a chance to breathe in and then slowly breathe through the rest of the contraction. It will get intense and then slowly fade back away.
Location depends on several factors. If baby is facing the wrong direction, back labor is SUPER painful. For me, mine were always low pelvic contractions. Under the bump. Sometimes I could feel them in my cervix too.

I hope all of you who are having contractions get some outside babies soon! I did the on and off contraction thing for three days and was exhausted before real labor ever began! Hopefully some of you will be snuggling LOs soon!

I was induced last time and the pitocin contractions were like someone was taking all my organs and squeezing/wringing them out. Is this what normal ones feel like too? I’ve only had wrong way facing babies so I only know back Labor. I’ve actually been wanting to ask something similar because I’ve never had front contractions! What everyone said below plus they get much stronger and you go along and closer like pitocin. I want a correct placed baby this time for shorter pushing but If think front labor would be worse. When things get really bad my H would push his fist into the main point in my back and this helped. You can’t do that in the front! I didn’t get my epi w DS2 until I was at 9 bc things when quicker than we thought so I felt a large part of the pain and think front would be worse. Hopefully this baby is in the perfect position so I get to compare.
