Cute, @peach! @mwip, I hope they keep him! slenle, our neighbor gave us zucchini bread when we moved in which was sweet. This is me being crazy but I'm afraid to give new people homemade treats because I worry they'll be psycho and sue me claiming I tried to poison them or something. That's probably a weird thought though...

Hey All - just went to lunch with a gf from Chicago who texted last night that she will be in town, so we made it happen, which was great. Except that she's mainly in town for a friend's bday...like a mutual friends.. and I had no heads up. I'm LIVID. She is a busy bee and can be a bit short sighted, but we emailed literally last week about football tickets and have plans for a winery in 2 weeks. WTAF. Thank God I am heading to tx this weekend and have plans or I would be f'ing lose it. My friends husband even said, so we will see you tonight? He figured we were coming, since we live here. Humph. /End rant

Hi everyone! I haven't read all the thread yet but still wanted to say hello. Unfortunately I get pretty much 0 cell service in my new office so I can't check in during the day Job is going ok though. My manager gives me a ton of freedom and is barely there herself lol. I booked the kids' bday party at skyzone. They do and provide everything, aside from the cake, so this'll be pretty easy and stress free.

Those photos are adorable peachsmama. I especially love Jack's "oh" expression. Hope you feel better soon chrisy01. Dinner time varies. I don't get home until after 5:30 and some nights I drive right to tae kwon do to meet the kids there. I prefer dinner to be around 5:30 just to get it over with and have a little time in the evening so I usually do things mentioned like the quick frozen raviolis or heat up some mini corn dogs for the kids and slice up some fruit. We also usually only do baths every 2-3 nights due to time constraints. Tonight I might put a movie on the projector in the bathroom while they bathe so I can work out at the same time to get in a little exercise. Then we'll eat a simple lazy meal.

I wouldn't want anyone to bring me baked goods, mostly because I'd feel bad that it would go straight in the trash.
Lots of people have dietary restrictions or allergies, and plenty of people don't like to eat food prepared by people they don't know so I feel like it's mostly a thing of the past.
Maybe a little potted plant or something?

Hmmm.... I always bring new neighbors cookies or banana bread, and I also always deliver cookies and goodies at Christmas. Am I doing it wrong? Do my neighbors think I’m psycho? peachsmama those pics are adorable!! tallb that sucks, I’d be super pissed too.

We usually eat dinner about 6.
As far as food sharing, I wouldn't do anything home made for someone I didn't know well. Like Goldi said, I don't really know their dietary preferences or even their food tastes.

Do you guys bake or drop of anything when new neighbors move in? We had a few neighbors move in shortly after us but I never did anything. But we just had another new neighbor move in 2 doors down last week and I feel like I should do something. Are home baked treats a thing of the past? I have. I usually do the phone numbers to the local takeouts and a plant.

What do you think of the name Amaryllis, NN Lily?
It's okay if you hate it.

If I did a Christmas cookie kind of baking thing I would totally give them to my neighbors, but it's because I know them. I don't think I'd bring baked goods to a family that just moved in.

At dance today, one of the Dads was there. He asked how old Charlie was and answered his own question by guessing 13 months. When I told him he was almost 19 months, he sounded shocked and said, "Wow, he's so small." He's 34 inches and 28 pounds. I don't know why the comment is sticking with me all day but it felt so out of place.

..... slinks back to kitchen to make you all some Goddamn delicious cookies and banana bread.....
Jk, I get what you guys are saying. I’ve never really thought about dietary restrictions. But whatever, if people don’t eat it or like it I would assume ra still the gesture that matters? 🤷🏼♀️ because you will have to pry my Christmas cookie tradition out of my cold, dead hands! 😉

I'm a PW right now because I don't want to shower because I ultimately don't want to blow dry my hair. So I will tell you the super fun thing Josie, MH, and I did tonight once Charlie went to bed. Josie loves to dance, but she's not coordinated enough for something like Just Dance on the Wii. So we YouTubed the dance videos from the game with some of the more popular songs that she know. She tried to follow along with the holograms without the fear of losing points or holding a remote or not keeping up with the game aspect of it. So great, and I felt like I got a little bit of cardio in.

I feel like a lot of people forget and remember their kids as so much smaller than they actually were at that age!
