Hi everyone. I haven't been posting here much lately, but am trying to jump back in. Weeks pregnant: 12+3 Baby is the size of a: Plum...I think? FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM Team: Finding out as soon as the results from my blood draw come back. Eek! Appointments: Had my nuchal scan on Monday and all looked good. Baby was bouncing around like crazy which was awesome to see. Such a relief. Also had my blood drawn for testing and am waiting on the results to come in. Have a regular OB appt Friday. Symptoms: Sore boobs, absolutely awful taste in my mouth especially if I eat anything remotely sweet. It seems like the worst of the nausea has passed, thank God, and I am hoping to regain some energy soon. Milestones: Almost second tri! We are telling our families this weekend. Rants/Raves/Vents: The bad taste in my mouth is just driving me insane. I wish I could brush my teeth all day long at work, but I have been getting some odd looks already with brushing them after lunch each day. I'll be relieved to finally tell my staff that I am expecting so they don't think I am crazy GTKY: What is your favorite band? I love all kinds of music, but have a special fondness for Journey (kind of embarrassing, but true). I also really like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Third Eye Blind, Bon Jovi, the list could go on and on...

Rants/Raves/Vents: I've got a team building event on Friday at a ropes course. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to go a little more public when I start declining stuff.
GTKY: What is your favorite band? I listen to a lot of internet radio but don't really follow any bands.

Weeks pregnant: 19 weeks 2 days
Baby is the size of a: Zucchini!
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: First take home baby
Team: Finding out next Friday!!
Appointments: A/S scheduled for next week. Excited to get to see this baby again!
Symptoms: The worst heartburn. SO bad, it's making me vomit in the middle of the night. I thought I was done with puking!! Also RLP. Ouch ouch ouch
Milestones: Nothing huge this week? Maybe A/S next time
Rants/Raves/Vents: I met another one of the OBs at this new practice on Tuesday. She was decently nice (also pregnant), but I asked her about upping my prilosec because of the awful heartburn I have been having and she annoyed me a little bit. She was so stuck on telling me not to eat big meals that she wasn't listening to anything I was saying. Just kept commenting about how "we can't eat as much as we used to." Maybe I was being over sensitive but I feel like because I am already overweight she jumped straight to the fact that I am just a glutton who can't take care of herself. Tried to tell her that a) I have a hiatal hernia b)I have had terrible awful heartburn since high school (I have been on prilosec for almost three years and had an EGD this year) and c) I actually get my worst heartburn on an empty stomach. I am also eating so so very little, like even the thought of eating more than a very small amount in a sitting makes me uncomfortable. Even after all of that it's like she didn't want to listen to me and I was just irritated. Also for the record of have gained exactly 2 ounces thus far this pregnancy. Just grr, I doubt I will try to see her again unless I have to. Also assuming she will be on mat leave anyway by the time I deliver so it's not like she will be around anyway.
GTKY: What is your favorite band? Hmm, I am bad at these questions. I have no idea.

nuggetrn ugh i'm sorry she wasn't hearing you. i strongly dislike when providers have made up their opinions before even listening to what you have to say. i know you said she was alright for the most part, but fx you don't have to see her again. stuff like that makes me so much more anxious for appointments than i need to be.

Thanks guys. Pre pregnant my heartburn was very much under control. I KNEW it was going to get worse during pregnancy as things moved around. I'm just glad that she okayed me upping the prlosec. I am hopeful that it will help.
As if I don't already feel bad enough that I am overweight. Getting diagnosed with PCOS after stopping birth control, spending the last almost two years trying to get pregnant, losing 4 pregnancies, and going through hell in almost all other areas of my life... really took it's toll on me an unfortunately I never lost any of the weight I gained. My weight has been steady for the last year, so there's that at least. Maybe post baby I will finally get myself together. We shall see. Right now it is what it is and I can only try to do better going forward. It's pretty useless for doctor's to try to make me feel worse than I already do.

nuggetrn those kinds of doctors are the worst! I hate when they just assume they know the answer and completely tune you out. They may be medical experts, but you are the expert on your body and you know it better than anyone else. I have to remind myself of this sometimes. I’m typically pretty timid and go with the flow, but I’ve learned that sometimes I need to speak up for myself, especially with doctors and my health. Hopefully you won’t have to see that doctor again!

Weeks pregnant: 12w5d
Baby is the size of a: plum?
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM
Team: Green
Appointments: NT scan/OB this morning, nothing until Halloween
Symptoms: nausea, dry heaving, food aversions, weepy, the usual.
Milestones: The US tech said she didn’t see any red flags at all during our scan! We should get the blood work back in a week or so.
Rants/Raves/Vents: FWP Vent: we didn’t get any cute profile pictures of the baby today. After getting all the measurements it basically smooshed it’s face against the uterine wall and stayed there. I’m overly disappointed about this LOL.
GTKY: What is your favorite band? FFWC: I usually listen to audio books and podcasts.
