My labour was pretty traumatic - my epidural fell out, I went from drugged bliss to transition in literally 45 seconds, they tried 5 spinal taps before getting the epidural back in etc etc - and I still think that video was worse. Lol. They took my epi out because they were so sure they were going to end up having to do a c-section (my hospital doesn't use the epi for emergency c's, they just knock you out). And you're right, that shit wears off FAST! After they took it out, they decided they wanted me to keep going and gave me 2 episiotomies and a straight cath plus you know, actually getting her out, without any epi.

auri That sucks!!! I hope your DD feels better soon. Last night my 4 year old declared she is a big girl and will not be wearing pull ups anymore and to throw them away. She refuses and does not EVER (literally ever) poop on the potty. She told me she will poop on the potty today because she is a big girl, so please if anybody has extra good poo poo potty vibes for us that would be fantastic!!!

Good luck sweetc129! When my daughter has to poo she yells "POO'S COMING! IT'S COMING" all the way to the potty. That was super fun when we were out to dinner last weekend We're supposed to get rain on Sunday and I'm super bummed about it because it's the day of our Halloween parade and we were going to have a party. If it rains it'll be postponed to the next weekend but, it's not the same after Halloween! Plus, I really want the spinach artichoke dip and pumpkin squares I was going to make. My H has to work tomorrow morning so I'm trying to think of something fun to do with my daughter.

DD apparently decided that she wanted to sleep in my bed tonight. I heard coughing followed by Mommy. I go upstairs to see if she's ok, and she had puked in my bed. I think the first thing I'm going to do when I get up is buy a waterproof mattress cover. I put baking soda on the mattress and I'm really hoping that will get the smell out. Aw. Poor peanut. I hope you get the smell out too. Nothing is worse than that

Ugh auri that is not what you want to be dealing with late at night. I hope she feels better and it was an easy clean up.

I feel bad, like I should have spoilered my epi story. I don't want to scare anyone. My labor was bad (the epi part wasn't even the worst part) but is totally the outlier. Definitely not the norm at all! Focus on the good birth stories.

Thanks everyone. She said she's feeling better this morning. I think it was mostly the drainage from her sinus infection that made her sick.

I’m beyond annoyed by my parents’ neighbor’s cat. They let it come and go and it is such a nuisance. We’re all super allergic and it will do things like jump into our cars when we’re getting DD into her car seat or unloading groceries or rub up against our legs. We live a few streets over and it likes to come and sit just outide of our fenced backyard and piss of our dog who then barks like a psycho. It’s always laying in the streets and I’m afraid I’m going to run it over when it’s dark out.
FWIW we’ve mentioned this to the owners and they DGAF. FFFC I wish some other family would find it, adopt it, and make it an inside cat.

Wow! All these water breaking stories are so intriguing! With DD1 I had an induction/ c section so missed all that. With DD2 my VBAC my water never broke! She came out in the sac, well just her head and neck. The sac broke when her shoulders came out. Having a baby born en caul is my dream! I dream of strange things lol.

I used to be that person that was so offended by Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving.
I'm now the person counting down until the Christmas Movies on Hallmark Channel start today.
It's not even Halloween!! 🎃 🎄

sweetc129, GL to your daughter! I think that's a great sign. That was exactly how my son potty trained. Just this big announcement, undies, a few days of accidents and then it was 100% from that point forward, including at night. It was incredible, but he was so confident and just went for it. Lol. Kids are crazy but sometimes they surprise you in good ways Hopefully this is it!

Instead of going to the big kid's school's trunk or treat tonight due to weather & H's work schedule (he wouldn't get home until it was over half way over), I asked the big kid what he wanted to do instead. He said he wanted to dip bananas & strawberries into chocolate. Oh, okay. A & I ran to the store after he got on the bus and I pulled my fondue pots out. My mom and sister are going to come over (they were going to ToT with us, anyway) and I'm going to make quiche & salad for dinner, and then we're going to watch Cars 3 and have fondue. He's so excited.

sweetc129, your DD sounds like my son. DS turns 4 in a month and in the last couple weeks he has finally decided that he is a big boy and pooping in his underwear is gross and for babies...it is about time. He has not had an accident in almost 2 weeks. Heres to hoping that this continues to go well for your DD and my DS.

katietopaz can you tell them straight up that it's just not in the cards for those reasons or will they make a big deal over it? it's a bummer but traveling at the holidays is $$$ and traveling with a toddler is so stressful plus you'll be pretty pregnant at that point. i feel like those are all valid reasons We for sure have to travel back this year, and we knew that, but I'm having major sticker shock with having to buy three tickets on prime travel days (because of DH's potentially switching jobs and not wanting to take too much time off). We've already told our families that next year, we likely won't be traveling at the holidays and will just need to find other times to travel to see them. It's really a huge mess. Our families live three hours apart in the same state, each of our siblings live in different states, and our extended family is 3-6 hours away from our respective immediate families, so it's a massive headache to coordinate the holidays and travel plans.

I'm sorry you have to do the travel song and dance too. We've done it just about every year since we moved, since it's the only time we fly back each year, and it's exhausting but really good to see everyone. It's just hard on our kiddo to spend so much time on a plane and then in the car. Hopefully this year will be a little easier since he's a little older and we can try to talk him through the car time.
