I can’t stop listening to The Birth Hour podcast. I don’t want to listen to anything else. But I’m about to listen to the last episode before I’m all caught up. Womp womp. What is this? A podcast that's just birth stories! I am obsessed.

Venting is what we're here for. *hug* I know joy was doing renovations a year or so ago, too, and she was about ready to blow a gasket on her contractors because they were taking longer and longer and longer. I couldn't imagine having to deal with something like that while pregnant, so you have my sympathies.

We redid our kitchen and two bathrooms while I was pregnant the first time. It was awful. And that we had contractors to do all the work. I cannot imagine a DIY reno while pregnant.

ArielMermaid my drivers side window is a PITA. It works often enough that I don’t want to pay $$$ to bring it in to be fixed. Try just pulling up your window manually while pressing the button. That always fixes mine. You have a ton in your plate and if you need to cry, go for it. Sometimes you just have to let it out. Or just dump it all here bc we're happy to meet it with hugs and hair pats.

Good news, DD doesn't have strep. She does have a sinus infection though.

I got my NIPT results back and am low risk...yay. I am slightly frustrated that I didn't get the results from my OB. I found oiy by creating an account on Natera and linking the case number that was on a letter they sent about insurance.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate it. We started our reno last year thinking we would be done by now. But my husband and father in law both have full time jobs and work on it nights and weekends so it's been slow. I didn't think I would be pregnant for this again (we put in closets and fixed up a nursery for her). I'm just stressed. The car window is going to be almost $400 and can't be fixed until Tuesday. UGGGHHH I will survive this I'm sure. I'm just feeling bad for myself in the meantime. Lol

Rama Maybe you could look into a birth class at the hospital? I haven't done any, but it might lesson Mr Rama's panic when it's go time. I'm sure they go over what to expect so he won't be so completely thrown in the deep end. Oh my gosh, this just reminded me of our birth classes. The very first birth class they showed the labour/birth video. We were both so shocked. Like speechless. Neither of us said a word the entire car ride home and I’m pretty sure I cried myself to sleep. Drama llama, party of one.

I can't believe October is almost over!!
I had such a busy week last week and I think I am only just now catching back up with life. I want a week off to sleep/do things around the house. I am ready to start doing things with the nursery.
I worked a bunch of extra hours at my old job last week because one of the girls was on vacation and they needed help. Yay money but doing that on top of my full time job was rough!
We had a gender reveal party this weekend and we told our whole family that we are having a girl. That was not as bad as I anticipated. DH was dead set on doing it, he's excited and he just really wanted to blow something up so I let him. I was not big on all of the attention or making a big deal about our baby's genitalia but I love my husband so I appeased him. It was a good time though so glad that's over and done with.
Trying to catch back up here!!

My labour was pretty traumatic - my epidural fell out, I went from drugged bliss to transition in literally 45 seconds, they tried 5 spinal taps before getting the epidural back in etc etc - and I still think that video was worse. Lol.

The worst was when on the last spinal tap attempt, I don’t know what happened but something exploded and SO and I got sprayed with something. That was when I was like, ok, but what the fuck is actually happening back there.

leatherpants all of that sounds so awful! And something exploding behind you must have been so confusing!! Did you ever find out what was going on? I think it was the meds that sprayed all over but I have no idea. I know it sounds horrifying and and it kind of was but it all was under an hour. And my nurses and doctors were amazing. Plus it was kind of funny. Like when they gave me the gas while waiting for the epidural to get back in and I was like what the fuck is this and threw it on the ground. Lol. That is very unlike me. I actually think it was worse for SO. He told me later he was ready to spazz on them but didn’t want to upset me further. Oh yeah and how I was getting angry at my nurse (she was the dumb one I hated) when she was counting my pushes because I felt like I had been pushing forever and she’d be like one......... two...... and I scream SIX! Lol me. I was probably a nightmare. I apologized after but my dr told me I was barely a blip on their freak out meter.

I'm looking at cross-country flights for Christmas - this is the first year we have to pay for a seat for DS - and holy crap, you guys, how do I break it to our families that there is no way we will be able to afford to fly with two kids? It doesn't help that we're super limited this year due to DH being on the verge of a job change and not having much, if any, PTO. Plus, flying with babies/toddlers is the most stressful thing for everyone involved. I'm so whiny, I'm sorry. leatherpants Oh my gosh, that is so insane. I'm so sorry, but thank goodness for amazing nurses and doctors in spite of it all. I can't imagine going from feeling nothing to transition. I would...not have been anywhere near calm. ArielMermaid I'm sorry that things have been so rough lately. It seems like when it rains, it pours, when it comes to stressful (emotional and financial) situations. I hope that you're feeling better soon and things start going more smoothly.

DD apparently decided that she wanted to sleep in my bed tonight. I heard coughing followed by Mommy. I go upstairs to see if she's ok, and she had puked in my bed. I think the first thing I'm going to do when I get up is buy a waterproof mattress cover. I put baking soda on the mattress and I'm really hoping that will get the smell out.

katietopaz can you tell them straight up that it's just not in the cards for those reasons or will they make a big deal over it? it's a bummer but traveling at the holidays is $$$ and traveling with a toddler is so stressful plus you'll be pretty pregnant at that point. i feel like those are all valid reasons

i'm up early enjoying my coffee in peace. i fell asleep on the couch at 8 last night watching rosemary's baby. not the best movie choice considering actually being pregnant - i had some pretty weird dreams that i can only blame myself for. it's supposed to snow and be pretty chilly here today, not sure how i am going to keep dd entertained indoors all day.

Hope it's not too bad for you to and you're able to get the smell out.

Lol. They took my epi out because they were so sure they were going to end up having to do a c-section (my hospital doesn't use the epi for emergency c's, they just knock you out). And you're right, that shit wears off FAST! After they took it out, they decided they wanted me to keep going and gave me 2 episiotomies and a straight cath plus you know, actually getting her out, without any epi.
