I need to sit down guys. This week has been so crazy and I am behind on general life tasks. I told dh and he said he didn’t think I was and things are fine. I can’t decide if I’m perplexed or relieved. I’m guessing he doesn’t know the extent of your mental checklist, but I guess it’s good news that all doesn’t appear like a pile of insanity from the outside? That or he doesn’t realize everything is basically hanging by a thread? Go easy on yourself, write down a list, and attack it a little at a time. You will get caught up.

i went to target today. spent a loooong time standing in the potty chair aisle and trying to look at reviews on my stupid sloooow phone. picked out one. put it back later and decided maybe i'm not ready for this. got home and there was a potty chair on the front porch ordered by hubby. made me laugh.

@kelltothekell I’m impressed Your dh ordered a potty. Wow! That whole mental load thing we were talking about last week...does that mean he actually has one??

dizzycooks, he's pretty good when it comes to making purchases on amazon, lol. i actually can't complain, he does pretty good. of course, i'd like him to do more things without me asking. one big thing is clipping dd's nails. I have him do it because she sits there nicely for him and it's a battle for me. I wish he'd do it on his own without me asking (multiple times) but other than that, no big complaints. He actually is usually the diaper changer when we are home together because i figure i get the bulk of it when i'm alone with her

I forgot to get clothes out for S to wear for school picture day. I have no idea what he wore. And I also forgot to get his hair stuff out, so his hair isn't done. He's probably going to need retakes anyway, because he smiles like a dork for pictures.

lollipop did he know it was picture day? I ask bc im reading a book about letting kids deal with natural mistakes. He could learn to do his own hair and he should know how to match his clothes. May not be your favorite outfit, but hopefully it’ll be fine. I sent dd2 to school withoutbher backpack today bc she got in the car and didn’t bring it with her. I don’t carry backpacks, I have a diaper bag and purse, my hands are full. She was so upset I felt awful, but my guess is she won’t forget next week.

He knows how to dress himself and for the most part his hair doesn't need anything done to it. But he doesn't know how to spike it up himself yet, because we rarely do it, and he doesn't know where to find the products. He just sometimes wears shirts that are a little too small or worn out. I don't worry about matching, all he wears is jeans and t-shirts. And H is less picky about what he wears than I am, so he lets him wear whatever, even if it's something that I would make him change so he looked nicer.

His shirt had a hole in it 😂 it's almost brand new, so I'm a little annoyed about it. We'll see what his face looks like in the pictures when we get the proofs.

Maybe it will be nice to look back at the pics with his regular hair instead of a spiky, styled hair? It might look more like “him” and your little guy you remember?

You guys. I am having a day.
Dd2 and I are sick with some nasty coughing thing. We slept like crap last night. My period started this morning. Dd2 only napped 15 minutes today because her cough kept waking her up. Dd1 started staying at school for “lunch bunch” where they stay an extra hour and have lunch there and play - she loved it but came home worn out and cranky AF.
THEN... I heard this noise in our laundry room. I noticed it a while ago, but my H was like “it’s just a house noise. Whatever.” Today it seemed louder so I did some sleuthing. I put my ear to the floor and thought I heard dripping. I’m home alone with both kids but can’t stand not knowing what’s going on. I distract them with Paw Patrol, open up our crawlspace entrance and crawl on my hand and knees all the way to the far side of our house where I discover water dripping profusely and spraying from a pipe. I can’t get too close to see what’s going on because the girls are up in the living room by themselves and I need to get back up there.
I start calling plumbers, the soonest I can find anyone to come is Monday. I don’t know where our water shut off valve is. I call my H and he’s like “I can’t do anything. I’m working.” Granted, he’s in the middle of a shoot day in which they’ve put fake snow all over this yard to make it look like kids are frolicking in a winter wonderland, but it’s a Ricola commercial vs our house flooding. I start really stressing out.
Finally my H comes home to help, shuts off the water, I find a plumber who is coming tonight at some point, so all is okay-ish.
I’m hanging out in a waterless house, H went back to work, I’m waiting for the plumber, and we ate Happy Meals for dinner.
I’m done!

Sounds like everyone needs this week to be OVER just like me!
I haven’t been around much. Work is kicking my ass. I’m working on getting DD back into her sleep routine after being so sick. She has a lingering cough but otherwise she is back to her normal sassy self.
Today was my last full day of work for a week. I have a few things to wrap up tomorrow from home and then Sunday we head to the cabin up north for a week of relaxation and fun. DS is on fall break. I’m really looking forward to it.

Hope you guys feel better today nellieolesonWe are going to story time today, which is fun. Poor dd came home from daycare with a horrible diaper rash. It was so sad to see her uncomfortable. Happy weekend! It's the first weekend in a while we are staying home with no big plans, which means house projects.

We just spent like 3 hours in Wal-Mart 😧 we got clothes for both kids, snowsuit for M, a couple of other things and groceries. We need to go to payless or something for boots for M, none of the ones they had at Wal-Mart would fit her fat feet. It probably won't happen this week.
I was thinking of taking a few hours to myself today or tomorrow to get out of the house and get a break, but I have no idea what to do if I did

It’s pouring rain and dd1 is off school so we went to target, Chick-fil-A and now they are watching a movie. I picked up a few different bday gifts for the next few months. There were a lot of toys on clearance if you’re looking for summer stuff. Also, cartwheel has kid clothes 20% off. I should probably go grab a few things dd1&2 we’re looking at and save them for bdays and Christmas.

Anyone doing cutesy kid crafts for Halloween? Or fall? Or thanksgiving? I’m looking for inspiration. I feel like there’s little reason we couldn’t do one for each of those topics.

H is being a butt. He refuses to give me a suggestion for supper. I have to go out again anyway, so I figured I'd pick something up, but he won't tell me what he wants. I genuinely don't care, I've had zero appetite for the last few days. If I didn't know better I'd worry that I was KU. Why can't he just give me a suggestion?!

Dd1 and I made this turkey hat last year. It turned out super cute. www.craftymorning.com/make-handprint-turkey-hat-thanksgiving-craft/I was just starting to think about Halloween crafts, too, but haven’t figured out what we are doing yet. My H brought home like 20 pumpkins from a job so my house looks like a freaking pumpkin patch, though. Ha.

I bought a bunch of mini pumpkins for painting. Also Target dollar spot Halloween crafts are awesome. $1-3 for different things to paint or things to decorate a pumpkin. I’ve been bringing things out a little at a time.

nellieoleson , dang, woman. I hope you poured yourself a giant glass of wine. That sounds really stressful! I'm glad you have water again, though. @kelltothekell , kudos to your DH for ordering stuff off of amazon. While DH is a very involved dad, I have about 99% of the mental load and I don't think he has *ever* thought to order anything for the girls. theoprah , have a safe trip home today! I'm sure your LOs are going to be super excited to finally see you again! DD2 was carrying around DD3 Thurs night (stands behind her, wraps her arms around her, and lifts), which we have repeatedly told DD1 and DD2 not to do. Well, DD2 dropped her and DD3 didn't land on her feet. She fell against a brick separating wall we have between the living and dining area and scraped up her whole face. It looks pretty nasty. DD2 felt really bad, and when she saw DD3 was bleeding, she was horrified. I think she actually cried harder than DD3, sobbing, "I didn't mean to!! It was an accident!! I'm sorry!!" It's DD3's nose and upper cheek, so it actually doesn't seem to bother her right now, it just looks pretty horrific. ps - DD2 didn't get into trouble, it was a total accident. I couldn't even tell her something like, "This is why we tell you not to carry her" because she obviously felt so awful about it.

I told S he needed to clean his room. I told him to start by putting all of his dirty clothes and bedding in a pile in the hallway, and picking up his books. Then I said to get me and I tell him the next step. H went up to turn the radio on for him, and told him to just make piles before he worries about putting things away.

It’s still raining. We took the kids swimming. Dd3 loves it and is blowing bubbles, kicking and trying to walk around in the water. It’s adorable. She’s also used the potty all day. If only she’d poop on it...tips for directing poop to the potty? We are having a movie night. What do you recommend for 5, 3, and 1 yo that won’t drive us nuts? I’m wondering if beauty and the beast is too much?

I'm in a terrible mood. I went out for coffee by myself. And then I went to wander around a store with my mom. And I can home to find a cranky baby (her brother woke her up from her nap early), the living room still a mess, S playing outside even though he wasn't finished cleaning his room, and H still snippy with me and playing video games. And I have nonidea why he's getting pissy with me, when I've asked him to do exactly one chore since Wednesday. It's not like I've been nagging him incessantly. I'm so frustrated.
