billyhorrible Happy Birthday to LBB! Sounds like a great day! jillywilly So happy to hear day care drop off went well and that your DS is excited to have a packed lunch! Adorable. letthewookieewin Sorry you guys are still in limbo for a bit longer. Hoping the biopsy gives you a definitive result and that your DS feels better soon. teraiin and sheilathetank (and anyone else who may be interested) Here is the recipe for those cookies. They are sooooo easy to make and they are really tasty - if you time them right in the oven (taking them out just at the first sign that they are browning on the edges/de-puffing in the middle), they are crispy on the edges and slightly chewy in the middle. Luuuuuuv them: Ingredients: 1 c. Butter (I use salted, but you can use unsalted if you like less salty taste) 1 c sugar 1 c flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 c quick oatmeal Directions: Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix butter and sugar together. Add flour, baking soda, and oatmeal. Once fully mixed, make walnut sized balls of the dough and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Dip bottom of a glass in water, and then dip the glass bottom in sugar. Use sugar coated glass bottom to stamp the cookie balls flat on the sheet, which will give the tops of the cookies a sugary crust. Optional - can sprinkle cinnamon on the balls before stamping as well (if you like cinnamon flavor). Bake for 10-13 minutes, watching closely to take out the cookies once they start to brown at the edges.

Taitai those do look easy. Maybe I'll make them for October dates this weekend. Almost everything I need is still down at work. It's super frustrating because I know I'm getting behind and then I'll be called to the table because shit didn't get done. I went to the dollar store yesterday and got almost everything I needed for the Halloween party for under $15. I'm doing a sensory bag, sensory bucket, ghost bowling (bowling with paper towel rolls made to look like ghosts), a play dough station, pumping decorating, and a fine motor activity involving string and a laundry basket. I figure that should keep 6 toddlers engaged for a few hours and if not, then oh well.

My HFM blister things are almost gone!!! I'm just thankful they didn't affect my face.
I poked around in the Halloween decor thread on GD and decided to make monster silhouettes for the windows. I got the first one printed and cut out yesterday and so far it looks pretty good. I can't wait to put them up this weekend when we decorate.

I need to decorate for fall/Halloween. Leo likes to point out all the pumpkins on our drive to DC.

I need to decorate for fall/Halloween. Leo likes to point out all the pumpkins on our drive to DC. It's my favorite holiday but I have slacked in the last few years. Last year we had only been in our house two weeks before Halloween so we barely got it decorated and the year before that I was pregnant and was in 100% fuck it mode.

I need to buck up and start buying seasonal decorations for our home. We tend to move around so often, that I hate acquiring things - because I know it will just be more stuff to keep track of and store in a move. We always live in urban places too, and high-rise condo living does not afford much storage space. However, now that DS is getting older and LO is about to arrive, I'm going to bite the bullet and start buying seasonal stuff to put up around the house.
I love love Halloween and would love to shop for decorations this year (at the very few places that sell them out here), but 38 weeks tomorrow - no motivation for that. We'll see how it goes for Thanksgiving or Christmas!

We're going to a pumpkin patch this morning! Well, LBB is going with his class. I'm driving over with another mom. There are a bunch of us doing it. It's the first time his school has had a field trip for kindergartners.

I'm so happy its the weekend. I'm running a 5k tomorrow and then MH and I are going to explore a little town nearby just the two of us. I'm really looking forward to that.

I took out my meager collection of halloween decorations. Leo did like the plastic jack'o lanterns that lit up. He called it a birthday pumpkin and sang happy birthday to it..lol. I plan to buy more decor at the after halloween sales.

I have def been MIA! The past few weeks have been insane!!! I got a promotion at work (yay!) but there is a lot of pre-work to be done (basically we are in a re-org and i will be a manager now but we have not decided who my reports will be, so there has been a million meetings to try and decide this, not just for me all the managers). Then my junior analyst quit (my main helper), I’m happy for him but the timing sucks! So I have decided to go back to work FT as of next week either through the end of the year or until my next Mat leave. Still going to do some flex hours but since I basically have to cover for my analyst (as in do my own work) until his replacement is hired and trained I figured I should get paid for it... our nanny agreed to come every day starting next week so I’m glad we don’t have to find someone new, bc I love her. So she will come either morning or afternoon everyday and we’ll see how it goes. I have mixed feelings about it but it has a end date and I kinda felt like my options were do the work and get paid or do it and don’t get paid... so kinda a no brained, so I’ll give it a shot! We already have a bunch of applicants to fill the role so hopefully we find someone quickly!

It was ok, not my best time but I did it with my dad who is trying to be more active and I didn't want to leave him behind. We had a lot of fun talking though, so I don't even care that my time wasn't great.
