Tomorrow's checkup with my OB is going to be so glamorous. I get to mention to my OB my hemis, and a nice new bump that showed up in my crotch. TMI ahead. {Spoiler}It's on my labia and it's sensitive to the touch. I honestly think it could be from chafing, since I've been doing a lot more walking, on top of gaining weight. Which also makes it a terrible appt to have to take my toddler with me, but DH can't go in to work late tomorrow, so. I don't even know if my OB will do a pelvic exam (assuming she wants to look at said bump) with a child in the room and no other adult to supervise him.

My midwife and OB both did pelvic exams with my kids in the room! It's annoying, but necessary sometimes. Good luck! I'm also mentioning hemis at my appt tomorrow. Womp womp.

I hope it's an easy fix. I have to have mine double-checked tomorrow because it started bleeding overnight last night, not insignificantly.

ovenrack Good to know! I ended up getting rescheduled for Wednesday, but I think I still have to take DS with me so we'll see what happens then. Rama I thought of you and was going to ask you about it depending on what my OB said. I'm so sorry that yours is still giving you trouble, that can't be comfortable.

I feel like hot garbage today. My stomach physically hurts, my back hurts, I've been light headed all day and nauseous. This feels totally out of the blue - yesterday was great. I just want to go home and lie down.

I'm literally walking around my house commando because underwear is too uncomfortable to wear with this lump. This is the worst. Rama I may PM you to see if we had/have the same thing and what to expect from the doctor. I'm kind of terrified just of the idea of having it lanced or whatever.

ttma hip/pelvic pain. i am experiencing constant sharp pain basically at the bottom of the right side of my butt up to the side of my hip. is this spd? i’m guessing things are just loosening up, but i am literally hobbling and i don’t know how i’m going to get through the next 2.5 months like this.

polson I was having that last week. My best guess was sacroiliac joint pain? I started using my pregnancy pillow so I'll now sleep on my side with one leg thrown over it and in the past week it's pretty much 100% better.

polson believe me I was so hesitant to start using mine because i hated the Snoogle last pregnancy. This time I got this one and omg it's amazing. I wish I had started using it earlier. So comfortable and I don't find it annoying to switch sides in the MOTN. ok. so super tmi here but i need to know if anyone else has dealt with this and what you have done to get relief if you have. i am definitely bringing it up at my appt today too. i have no idea how to spoiler so here goes. i have been experiencing a ton of pain on my right side of my pelvis for about 3 weeks now. in the shower the morning i discovered i am really swollen on the right side down there😬. so i think varicose veins? i never dealt with this the first time around and i’m really scared they won’t go away/will only get worse during last few weeks here. google tells me they are more common after first pregnancies but i am still so embarrassed to have to ask dr about this and have anyone look down there and see this.

polson 100% talk to your OB about it. The other thing Indo when I need to talk to a doctor about something that embarrassed me/feels weird, I’ll call and talk to a nurse first. I’m pretty guilty of just being like NOPE I FEEL FINE at the last minute and this way the doctor knows to ask me about it and I didn’t have to talk to some one face to face. Also, the nurse is usually really nice about it and it calms me down.

polson I’ve had pelvic pain and pressure but not like you’re describing. Don’t be embarrassed about the doctor. I hope it settles down and you get some answers.

thanks guys. i know that i don’t need to be embarrassed, and i’ve always used the “they’ve seen worse” as a mantra, but i get so anxious about this (i know there aren’t too many people who consider pelvic exams fun so i realize how dumb this sounds) i think i was about 35 weeks last time when i had a freak out that i actually have to get the baby out of me! h totally made fun me.

I think calling and talking to the nurse is a great idea! I have definitely found that lots of patients are way more comfortable telling me something and then I can bring it up to the doctor that way it is then the doctor starting the conversation instead of you. So if you call in the nurse can get the docs advice/put in a note about it and then hopefully at your appt the doctor can bring it up like a follow up, or you can ease yourself in by saying so I called about this problem and spoke to nurse so and so... Obviously I am probably too late for polson but it's good for future reference for appts as well. And know you are absolutely not alone!! How is everything going at this point?

Well, my whole perineum area has been sensitive/itchy/sore. No yeast or anything else, just pressure leading to general uncomfortableness. It’s like saying it aloud gives it too much importance, as it doesn’t really become noticeable until the end of the day when I’m laying in bed and trying to sleep.
But I just tried some dermoplast (which people swear by for postpartum) and whooooo-eee, that felt good.
I made it through two vaginal birth post partum times without it, but so far, I’m a fan!

I used ticks and dermaplast loooong after really necessary. And sometimes just because they feel nice after rough ST or whatever.

Okay another general symptom is that I want to shower all day every day. I could live in the shower. It’s where I feel most comfortable.

I feel like I might remember this from last time but sometimes this LO moves so quickly/erratically that I have an irrational, ridiculous fear it’s having a seizure.

I only just saw this, but I erm have the varicose veins down there. I freaked out too but my OB was quite blasé about it as it is evidentially quite common. She suggested tighter underwear for support and warned me that there’s a chance they could bleed and not to freak out, but come in for monitoring if that happened to be sure it was the vein and not uterus related as it’s hard to tell where the blood is coming from.

nevertoomanyshoes commiseration tit. i read about that bleeding possibility and it makes me nervous. also the possible complications during birth. i’m just ignoring what what’s going on down there right now and crossing my fingers that things will be as normal as possible after delivery.
