nevertoomanyshoes commiseration tit. i read about that bleeding possibility and it makes me nervous. also the possible complications during birth. i’m just ignoring what what’s going on down there right now and crossing my fingers that things will be as normal as possible after delivery. My OB said that they usually go away on their own after you deliver so everything crossed that is what happens for us both!

Any idea what the threshold is for BH? I had a ton with DD and this pregnancy so they’re normal but I can’t seem to get them to go away today. Mostly not painful but I feel like my whole torso just locks up and I have to breathe through them. It’s like the split second before you get a Charlie horse - it doesn’t hurt but you’re afraid to move lol

I forget what the threshold is but if they're continuing for more than an hour or so I'd call. Or hydrate, like over hydrate and sit around for a while and see if that helps.

I agree Leaf 🌱, I think its worth a call. The breathing through them seems extra for BH. Although its a good sign (I think) that they aren't hurting. And rest lady. Put yo feet up.

I have officially hit the point where my back hurts and nothing seems to really make it better. Also my nose is congested and I have no cold. And my pelvic pain is back if I walk too much in one day (honestly though, I'm so happy its held off this long that I'm not even complaining about it. Yet).
Third tri. Fun fun times.

Thanks cornpop and leatherpants. The nurse said if it hits five an hour to call. I’ve maxed out at four and am just sitting here drinking water and occasionally stretching. I’m sorry to complian. Limbo just blows - I’m 100% sure if I went in, they’d stop. That’s how it works right?

I just complained in the post right above yours lol. And it totally works like that. Maybe you can just tell your stomach you are going to L&D. Threaten it a bit and maybe that will work?

LOL leatherpants i wish this LO was better about threats than its sister - neither apparently GAF. My back started to hurt so I called my OB and they sent me to L&D. I think mostly so they didn’t have to stay late and monitor me at the office

They did a bunch of tests, couldn’t figure it out, made 100% sure my cervix is closed up tight, and basically said “go home and rest. We think your back and Ute are just angry.” They upped the “acceptable number of BH” to 7/hour and to come right back if they seem particularly regular. I’m hoping a trip to the chiro will help break the cycle of “my back hurts and is causing cramps which are causing BHs which make me hold my body funny which creates more back pain.” I apologize for causing worry!!

I will say I felt very smug when the nurses kept saying i was probably just dehydrated until they saw my urine sample was nearly clear. TAKE THAT.

Leaf 🌱, I am glad everything is okay and hope it stays that way. I don't know if I had any Braxton hicks with DS, because I was so clueless about what they would feel like but I have had a couple with this LO. I had one Monday that was painful and it scared me, but thankfully it calmed down within an hour or so.

I have been so hot lately and it's driving me crazy. I'm like an oven. It was 18 degrees this morning and I'm in a short sleeve shirt and open toed shoes because the cold air feels good. And everyone is blasting heaters inside and I'm dying. I'm going to have to bring a fan into my office because I can't stand it.

Anyone have a swollen and sore vagina on the outside, and only on one side (my right side)? I woke up pretty sore this morning, but was a little embarrassed to discuss it with my OB. When I got home later today and was using the restroom, I noticed I was quite swollen on the right side. I got a mirror and looked. Yikes! It's not anything like an ingrown hair or abcess. It feels/looks more like an injury, like if you twist your ankle and it gets puffy and swollen. Does that make sense? It hurts to walk and sit. The right side is the same side I have sciatic pain and hand/arm pain and numbness. Do you think it could all be connected?

I didn't think my abscess was what it was, I just assumed it was some kind of ingrown hair/chaffing swelling. Not that I necessarily think yours is an abscess (I wish this on no one), but having it looked at so that you can get it treated and taken care of ASAP is probably going to be better than sucking it up and dealing for the next who knows how many days. Maybe it clears up tonight, and if so, great! But if it's still there tomorrow, I would recommend choosing comfort over decorum. I guarantee your OB isn't going to judge the state of your crotch.

Rama Thanks! I'm going to give it until Friday morning and if it's not better or has gotten worse, I'll give my OB a call. I've been using an ice pack and trying to sit and rest. It hasn't done a lot to help, but it hasn't gotten worse either.

polson I just started to do a Google search in what I'm experiencing and I do agree that that's what it sounds like it is. Never had this with any previous pregnancies. It's super uncomfortable though and I'm sad to read that it could last the duration of the pregnancy. So weird that it's more prominent on the right side! Sorry you're dealing with similar discomfort. 😕 Thanks for the help though!

Add me to the swollen vagina. I noticed it about a week ago and just figured it was a pregnancy thing. But it's still pretty swollen and stretchy? (I don't know how to describe it but it definitely feels differently than it did before) so I had MH check it tonight and he said the labia is swollen and red. I read online it can be a cause of extra discharge which I've had a ton of all pregnancy. I see my OB on Tuesday so I guess I'll mention it to him then.
I'm having so many new symptoms I didn't have the first time around and feel like I have no idea what is normal and what is not.

Ugh. I wrote a whole thing but then tapatalk closed and it went away.
Basically, from 6pm onward I feel exhausted and useless. I hadn’t realized how lucky my previous pregnancies were, physically.
It’s gonna be a long 7-9 weeks!

Has anyone had good luck with OTC treatments for hemis? Mine just keep getting worse because my digestion is a wreck, and the Target brand prep H ointment doesn't seem to be doing a thing. I've been wiping with flushable wipes, but maybe I should use Tucks pads?
I'm just worried about how much worse they'll get with ten-ish weeks to go, plus labor and delivery. Oh, glamorous pregnancy.

katietopaz I use tucks and they seem to help. Maybe also check the Angel Mama bottom balm.

katietopaz, I had no luck with prep H but a prescription ointment seemed to help a little bit. By far the main thing that helped mine was getting my on-and-off constipation resolved.
