+1 to this. Amazon chat has always resolved any issue I had really quickly. I got the baby box a while ago after completing my registry. It had some good stuff (although nothing I would pay $35 for). There's a great muslin swaddle, a bottle, a couple diapers, breast pads, and wipes. Also a bunch of small sample size stuff like lotion, chapstick, baby body wash. It's nice for throwing in the diaper bag or your hospital bag. Ugh I'm so jealous of your baby box. Mine was so lame. No muslin swaddle, just little sample of things. I was so disappointed! I was thinking the same thing.

addymac, bah that's such a bummer about your baby box! I would have thought since they're through amazon it'd be pretty standard.. can't you "complain"? Here we can sign up for like 3 different pregnancy boxes - one was really awesome, the other so so, the 3rd like really lame. Lots of samplers and leaflets for stuff but we also got some nice things like a pack of newborn nappies, wipes, sudocream, a newborn bottle&nipple, baby's first toothbrush, alcohol free applecider and beer LOL!, a couple of pacifiers, some magazines, a toy, things like that. Once baby is born apperently there's two more boxes we can sign up for and from what I've heard they're pretty nice. I wasn't planning on signing up for any boxes at first as it felt like jinxing myself or something but MH made me and I'm glad he did. We had fun unpacking them together heh.

Y'all, there finally has been some REAL progress on the nursery! I'm only ahh.. 37-and-a-half weeks pregnant?? Hahahaha
MH had been all slacky on making progress these past couple weeks so I sort of had given up on having a finished nursery (or a tidy bedroom floor for that matter) but it seems something I said or such prompted him to get cracking. So on his one day off Thursday last week he finished emptying out the room (which was a LOT of work.. after having used the room for storage and "oh we don't need that for now, and don't see it behind a closed door" kind of room for the past 5 years ;-)). And yesterday we got it painted, with some help of a friend! β₯
Now today I plan on cleaning the floor and on Thursday my dad is probably coming by to help me put together the new drawer dresser we bought. I have to figure out still what furniture to put where and find me a comfi fauteuil and ottoman but hopefully can make up my mind soon haha. I'm looking forward being able to put the freshly washed baby clothing in the dresser!
I did realize that beside paint, furniture, an area rug (which we still need to pick out as well) and curtains, I will also need to get me a lamp and some wall art.... I've started browsing etsy for the latter but just can't make up my mind! Those of you who did some decals, where did you get them from and how hard was it to get them properly on the wall??

muscari Don't feel bad, MH is finishing painting baby girl's crib and staining the dresser today and we only have one week tops to go lol! I did a decal tree for DS1 which I loved that I got from Etsy. It was a pain in the butt to put up (9ft tree) in terms of getting the layout right, but I liked the quality. For his current room, he has a reusable mural from Land of Nod which he also likes - much easier to put up. For these babies, I got some instant downloadable art from Etsy since time is not on my side. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Sorry for spamming you with posts today! I'm forced to take it real easy today after having overdone it the previous days oops, so am spending my afternoon behind the pc *g* I think I wrote before how my aunt crochetted a lovely baby blanket for our little girl. I finally got some of the pics she's texted me while working on it to my pc and made a little collage. I don't have a pic of the actual finished blanket doh but this gives you an idea. I absolutely love how it turned out and I hope that our daughter will love it as much as MH&I do. I can just see her having this blanket still when she grows up!

muscari How lovely!!! The colors and design are beautiful - what a special gift! Taking it easy is a good idea - did you get a call in yesterday? After 2 real quiet days and me&MH getting all anxious and worried, she finally decided to start giving us plenty of movement again yesterday which was reassuring that she's doing okay. I was a little worried but also felt somehow that things were okay, that she was just taking it easy (as I did feel some movement, and she did pass a couple of random kick counts)? So decided to trust my instinct that was trying to tell me "she's just having a couple of quiet days" though she did have a deadline ;-) Had she still be quiet this morning I'd have put in a call and gone over to L&D for some monitoring for sure. Thanks for asking!

That blanket is lovely muscari! My MIL had some family and friends contribute quilt squares for this babys blanket and it came out so cool. I'll try to post a picture. My nursery was on its way to be set up, but that stopped once we knew we were moving.

muscari, here it is. It's basically as tall as I am. But I've cut out the women who were in the picture who contributed a square. They either found one they liked from a shirt or patch, or hand stitched their own. PDQ though

@easilyunamused, I LOVE it!!!! This gave me an idea.. maybe I could ask close friends/family members to bring a square when they visit the baby after she's born, and make something like this, too!

muscari, I got vinyl wall decals from Etsy. I put a few on and took them off a few days later just to make sure they come off and they did easily. I actually used some of the wall decals on the lamp shades I bought and I love that they match. (I actually forgot we needed lamp shades and when I looked online they were like $35 a piece for space ones. I ended up buying black shades for $5 at Walmart and put the decals on myself.) We did simple wall decals, I just bought like 150 stars since his room is space themed. My mom bought the 4 wall art pictures off Etsy as well and then just stuck them in frames. I still need to hang those but we are so close to being finished. So glad you made a lot of progress! And I love the baby blanket! Homemade stuff is so nice. @easilyunamused, I love that quilt! Beautiful!

Soooo, we (or I should say I, I guess haha, as MH just basically went along with his crazy hormonal pregnant wife) changed our minds last minute when it comes to baby's sleeping arrangements when she comes home. Friends loaned us a really sweet wicker bassinet but when they dropped it off it came without any accessories (those were misplaced over the years or such) and so my mum offered to sew some things to personalize the bassinet for us. However, with her heart attack and recovery, this isn't gonne happen. And I just felt soooo bummed out about having a half-finished, not cute looking bassinet. Plus, and that was my most important argument: I couldn't find a fitting aerosleep mattras topper so it felt I couldn't even make it a safe bassinet for her to sleep in. So yesterdayevening I went and looked for second-hand bassinet and found one for a steal. Tis a simple white small bassinet, incl. mattras and aerosleep topper Γ‘nd comes with extras. I'm so chuffed haha. It's going to be much practical as well, as the wicker bassinet was HUGE and would take up most of the spare room in our bedroom, and this one is nice and compact. I know baby will grow out of this bassinet within a couple of months likely but until then she at least has a cute and cosy little bed with us. It looks (similar) to this: I already have sheets and bedding that I can use to make it cosy. Hoping to go pick it up with my dad later this afternoon We now plan on using the wicker bassinet downstairs in the livingroom, for when baby naps and we're close by. Mum will try to cut an aerosleep topper to size to fit the odd shape of the mattras. This is what it looks like: It may not look so on the pic but it's HUGE! The size of a normal baby bed.

muscari The wicker is beautiful, but you are right the white is so much more practical for in the beginning! It's very cute and I'm glad you feel more comfortable about the decision. Have fun building furniture with your dad today! I have decided that baby's room will be put together while I'm waiting for labor to be strong enough to head to the hospital because there is nothing that seems to be getting my husband motivated. He's much rather play games online with his friends "while he can".

Oh elliecat17 I am so sorry that YH is suck a slacker and saying these kind of things. I may not stab MH like addymac π but I would not respond too kindly to such a comment either!! Tell him he really needs to get his act together or a whole horde of pregnant A17 women will come at him!! π€π€ππ

muscari, I love the white bassinet! It's so cute! elliecat17, I think my home would be experiencing an unexplained "internet outage" if mh was playing online games all day and the nursery wasn't done.
