Again, I'm the breezy feeding one. With O, I introduced WCM at like 10 months (with doctors approval) but without a schedule. Poured some in a cup, let him have what he wanted, continued on. He did have a completely jet black poop the next day that freaked me out, but was harmless.
Since E has this intolerance, I will obviously be much, much more regimented about introing WCM.
On a related note, I'm doing a soy trial this weekend. Wish Miss E's guts good luck!

We didn't WCM until 12 mo with W and are waiting with the twins. But we haven't had early weaning or weight issues, and they like water just fine so I am very TETO. I've had family members want to give them WCM and I just refuse it.
I don't think this is one of those issues that has a wrong answer.

starbuck have you made it to urgent care yet?? We did the glue on O's forehead in the spring and it was relatively harmless. Hope her foot needs nothing though! classymrsa that's crazy! Had she been playing in the dirt or grass? tjanca22 apple orchard type donuts are my everything. I have yet to find an orchard in southern Ontario that makes them though. Like, wtf people? You are totally missing out! Can't wait for the house threads goldenlove!!

jubilantsquirrel Yes, they are fire ants. Reddish brown and about the size of a grain of rice. Their bite hurts a ton and then into pimple looking things filled with pus. It's really awful. hangry She was walking in the grass in our backyard.

Well we were at the apple orchard for all of 20 mins. E pointed to the first pumpkin saw and said, "my pumpkin". We let him pick L's pumpkin too and again picked the first he saw. So we got our pumpkins, caramel apples, and caramel apple pie in a bag and headed home. They didn't have the donuts ready since we got there too close to opening time and they weren't ready yet. I'm a little bummed, but I've been doing really good not eating sweets lately, so it's probably for the best. And now for the AW because even tho I didn't get donuts it was still a successful trip and these guys were happy! PDQ

Re: milk, we didn't discuss it at the 9 month appointment either. I waited until a year old with DS and we introduced it by slowly mixing it in with his bottles of breastmilk, and increasing the amounts until he was getting a full bottle's worth. I also didn't really give him a whole lot of dairy products before a year. Total opposite with Ms. D, who looooves cheese and yogurt.
Actually the other day I gave her some of DS's "Fat Smoothie" (my name for the thing I start giving him when he goes through phases of being a jackass toddler and not eating enough for a few days), which has WCM in it so I guess now she has had it? Fortunately we don't have any allergy concerns here so I can afford to be breezy about it. She's been having some formula each day now for about a month (something DS never had) and in my mind it's not that far off in terms of the "transitioning" from breastmilk process.

I am such a FTM... is the slow to start WCM more a function of not wanting to replace/create favor over BM, risks (?allergies?/proteins), weight thingy (is formula better for this?)... etc?
What am I not considering here on why I’d want to continue formula? Talk to me like I’m dumb.

Happy Friday everyone! I've spent the morning cleaning because our cleaners are coming this afternoon. 😄😂 Adorable kids tjanca22! classymrsa - your poor baby! Glad she's okay. starbuck - hoping the cut isn't too serious and doesn't take much to fix it up.

lol elle ! We don't have cleaners but if we did I would 100% clean before they came, too. kleigh , I think it's just to get them used to it? Maybe others have more info on this, but I kind of think of it like when you switch food for a pet, you start by adding the new food in with the old and then increase it until you're only giving them the new food so it doesn't upset their stomachs. ETA: but I could be way off base here.

tjanca22 so adorable! kleigh I agree with jubilantsquirrel. Especially because when I first offered it to J he took a sip and threw the cup at me, so he clearly didn’t like it. I’ve noticed when I do a 2oz BM with like a splash of WCM he can drink it. So eventually I’ll increase the WCM and decrease the BM.

So I went to the grocery store earlier today, and the halo top ice cream pints were on sale. I’ve always wanted to try them but refuse to pay like $8 for one so since they were on sale I grabbed one. Of course, I have no self control so I’ve eaten a bunch. It was surpsingly good. I could get on board with these.

Ha elle at the cleaners! I think I cleaned for 2 days before we had one come for the first time! kleigh I don't know, but I would guess that some of the reasoning for transitioning from formula to WCM is the cost and inconvenience of formula. And convenience and accessibility of WCM. This is just a guess.

kleigh you are not dumb so I'm not going to talk to you like that I don't know if there is a different reason, but my personal reason for a slow transition was just to get him used to the taste of the WCM since he'd only ever had breastmilk before. This is kind of what I was trying (but failed) to say when I mentioned that D has had formula, because in my head the taste of formula would be more similar to the taste of WCM. But as I typed that I am realizing that I have no actual reason to think that. elle haha one of the biggest reasons I haven't sprung for a cleaner yet is because I know I would always feel like I needed to clean first. For us, at least, it's a matter of clutter. Our house isn't a hoarder den or anything but sometimes there is stuff piled up and I would hate for the cleaners to have to move a whole bunch of stuff just to get to the surfaces they want to clean. waitwhat I think it is a UO but I really like the Halo Top! Sometimes I warm up a chocolate VitaTop muffin and put Halo Top on it for a "sundae" and it's pretty satisfying!

Cute jubilantsquirrel! I really like the vlish but feel like the light grey is more versatile. That reminds me.. I have $50 in Kohl's cash I need to spend by Sunday. I was thinking shoes. I just bought a pair of brown boots off Amazon and I really like them so maybe booties? I just don't know if I'd like them. elle the day before our cleaners come is the biggest cleaning day for us too! It's just decluttering mostly but man it builds up in between.

My mom just got us tickets to go see Garth Brooks on 11/4. She logged in at 10 (so 2 hours ago) to get the tickets and they sold out before she could get them, then she got a notification that they added a Friday show and she was able to get those tickets.
Since then they've added a Sunday show and TWO more Saturday shows. I'm actually really happy we didn't get the Saturday night tickets now. With 3 shows on the same day it's going to be chaos.
