Okay. The preview for next time just aired during scandal. Amelia is getting ready for surgery and literally telling her goodbyes to the cast in the gallery. So I should be prepared to cry my eyes out next week. Got it.

Oh this episode was so good. Classic Grey's- laughter and crying. I have high hopes for this season. I just came in here to say this exact thing.
I loved this episode- Mer and Amelia at the end killed me and I loved when Amelia said Maggie had to tell Mer because she didn't want her to be right about her being crazy.

I watched. It was so good. Although I am rooting for Meredith and Riggs but she's not cooperating! I do still miss Derek tho. I actually kind of like that she isn't and that she is pushing him. She knows that if it was Derek she would fight. Also I think she needs to know that she is not being settled for if for some reason she gives it a go.

Watching the men be so uncomfortable when Girl Deluca started suggesting manual stimulation to speed up that poor woman's labor was great and a glimpse of classic greys. Yes! I could picture George getting that look on his face when he wanted ot be anywhere other than where he was.

I liked it, felt more like a throwback to the first few seasons. Episodes 1 and 2 were a good start.
Loved: 1) Everything Amelia in this episode. She got some great one liners, liked her sparring with the Hopkins doctor, her convo with Weber, her scene with Maggie. I do not like Amelia, but I did in the episode. 2) The scene with Girl DeLuca advising all on natural oxytocin, poor Weber and Warren. 3) The scene between Megan and Owen, came off as the way a real brother and sister would be with each other. 4) Jackson and Katherine's speech about Harper and the hospital, I laughed. 5) Bailey's fighting for her hospital. 6) Old Man Avery's death. Jerkface. 7) Jo and Alex's scene. I have not a huge Jo fan, but she just may be his happy ending, LET HIM HAVE HIS HAPPY ENDING SHONDRA!! 8) The scene where Owen finds out. He loves her so much. WHY WON'T YOU LET HIM LOVE YOU, YOU SILLY COW??????
Was meh about: 1) The prom kid storyline and April's role this episode. 2) Mere's scene with Riggs. He loves you girl, deal with it.
Disliked: 1) Maggie fixing Jackson's collar. STOP FORCING THIS COUPLE SHONDRA!!!! 2) Arizona, a seasoned ob and fetal surgery did not know that you can naturally induce oxytocin. C'mon, I learned that on the bump.
Note about Arizona and I hope Shondra is reading this. Arizona used to be a compelling character. I loved when her surgeries were front and center of the show as they were always interesting. I feel like they have made her character all about her sexuality. And, yes, her sexuality has always been a big part of her character, but now it is the only part of her character they show.
They need to: 1) give DeLuca a storyline, he is a perfectly likeable character that is so underused 2) put April and Jackson back together 3) make Mere and Riggs a couple couple 4) find a man for Maggie
Oh, and that last scene with Owen and Amelia and Mere int he room was awesome, had me in tears.

Loved this episode! Amelia is such a big secret keeper so I'm so glad it all came out. And then I cried.

lucilleaustero yes yes yes. Mostly about Arizona. I loved her character and was always excited to see which storyline she had. Now I almost want to skip. Yes cool. Jargon about all the sex you're having. Riveting. 🙄😒

When Amelia's teacher aka Ally McBeal guy said she hadn't been of sound mind for years, the look on her face 😓. So sad.

Shonda is not on Grey's anymore, you guys. She moved onto Netflix.
Krista Vernoff returned to helm Grey's - she was a showrunner until 2011 and came back this Fall. She promised to return it to the original Grey's - light, funny, and endearing.

When Amelia's teacher aka Ally McBeal guy said she hadn't been of sound mind for years, the look on her face 😓. So sad. Yes! BUT.... it also means her big relapse on Private Practice was not 100% her fault. She's had the tumor at least 10 years and it is in a spot that controls impulse and personality. Her relapse was, at least, in part due to not having full control of her brain or impulse control. I hope at some point they address that, because she has always carried a ton of guilt about how easily she let herself relapse.

I am so glad Mer didn't immediately take Riggs back and I completely understand where she is coming from in her anger and frustration.
She and Riggs bonded on their loss and how they would do ANYTHING to get their true love back. Hers can never come true, but his DID. And he is throwing it away, just because he also loves Mer. But Mer doesn't want to be a consolation prize - she wants Riggs to fight for his fiance. If, eventually, it does not work for them, I am sure she'd be happy to be with him, but she doesn't want to be with someone that doesn't fight tooth and nail for their true love.

This season is so much better than the past few seasons! I am loving all of it - the jokes, the woman's sex expert (DeLuca), the lightheartedness.
Last season was particularly painful and dragged on, but... there was a reason for it. The actresses playing Amelia and Jo were both pregnant last year. Ellen/Mer also took maternity leave for her child (possibly from a surrogate).
So, to balance all 3 being gone for large chunks, they had almost half the season just focused on a handful of characters. Episodes that would typically be a one off and only maybe one per year - the Montana trip, the prison patient, the surgical room with just Mer, Owen, and Webber, etc. This is also why it took Mer FOREVER to come back to the hospital and why Amelia hid/took a large chunk of time off.
I'm all for women having a family and a job! It just sucked that the writers didn't know how to properly balance the story lines when 3 main women needed time off last year. It showed.

I thought this episode was ok, nowhere near as good as last week's, but better than the past few seasons.
I loved the Alex & Jo storyline.
I hated the forced interaction with Jackson & Maggie. He needs to get back with April or find someone outside of the hospital.

When has anybody on this show ever dated someone from outside the hospital for more than an episode? The only one I can think of is Meredith and the vet way back in the day - and that was probably like 3 episodes.

What confused me about this ep was that I thought Meredith's old therapist was a woman? Who is this random dude? Or did I miss something.

Well, and Andrew, who dated Teddy for awhile. He had to sign off on the whole staff after the guy came in and shot a bunch of people.

There was an episode when she was still married to Callie that a big deal was made out of her leg that she could wear heels with after Bailey's wedding when she was so upset about having to wear flats. WHY DO I KNOW ALL THESE THINGS?!?!

I feel like Shonda already gave Amelia a happy ending. In Private Practice. Everyone seemingly had one by the finale.

WHY DO I KNOW ALL THESE THINGS?!?! It’s amazing that you remember that. Or sad. I haven't made up my mind. I did rewatch most* of the entire series on Netflix last summer, so that may be why stuff is in my head. *I skipped several trigger-y for me episodes.

Ortho, though, has just stopped being a thing since Callie left and I think that is also part of the reason why Arizona's leg is never brought up anymore.

I'm so oblivious I didn't even notice the leg. I also forgot about it was amputated for a second.

tvline.com/2017/10/09/greys-anatomy-season-14-new-interns-jake-borelli/ABC’s venerable medical drama is beefing up its intern quotient, adding six new (and relatively unknown) actors to play doctors-in-training in Season 14. Of the half-dozen, one of them — Jake Borelli — already made his debut as nerdy, Jo-crushing intern Levi in last month’s two-part premiere. The remaining five will arrive at Grey Sloan in this Thursday’s episode (8/7c) as Richard and Bailey search for the stars of tomorrow.
