Such good news Taitai!! How's your H's hand healing? Thanks for asking about DH's cooked fingers! He still doesn't have feeling back in the tops of two of his fingers, and there are big blisters, but no infection and no need for skin graphs/surgery. So - I'll call it a win. Doctors say it might take up to a year for the nerves to repair themselves, so it might be a long waiting game on that. DH says he's gotten used to it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh and at the risk of being a PW, I have a BFing question. Do I need to wait a certain amount of time before I start pumping? Sometimes the baby only takes one side or doesn't empty the second side. My milk is coming in now and it's going to get really uncomfortable if he keeps it up. But I don't want to start pumping too soon and mess my supply up. Thoughts? I have a different view from others. At about a week old, I started pumping for 5-10 minutes after each morning feed with DD (ie once a day in the AM). This helped build my stash and increase my supply (but not too much). It worked perfectly for us. I plan on doing it again. /anecdote Also, great news Taitai!

I kind of agree with this, especially since you had some supply issues the first time thatgirlrachel but what's most important is to not overthink it. I overthought and agonized over every BF choice with DS1 like it was a minefield and if I made the wrong choice it was over. This is not how it works. I was more go with the flow w FS2 and everything worked out better. FWIW, I pumped early both times but for different reasons. DS1 to supplement and increase my supply. DS2 bc he kept falling asleep like your DS and I'm prone to clogs.
